Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Twins

Mu Ning arched a brow. Problem? In her world?

Thinking about the knowledge she had accumulated and her rewards, a wave of thrill washed over her.

Till now, she had learned about farming and cooking, and in some world, she even worked as an agriculture researcher.

"Let's go!" Mu Ning smiled and opened an interface in the air. It was an advanced technology interface.

On a closer look, it was a game login interface.

During her time as a task executer, aka... transmigrating to different worlds and fulfilling the missions, various games were introduced by the system to her.

One of the games was Restaurant Tycoon.

Though it may seem easy, Mu Ning had spent more years playing the game than she had lived in her real world.

It begins in a shabby restaurant with no vegetables; even the seeds are something the player has to find.

After gathering the seeds, the vegetables are grown while dealing with side tasks like finding metallic parts.

Later, with the fresh food, the player is asked to make their own recipes and impress the customer.

During the first 6 years, Mu Ning almost cursed the developer of the game. She was a woman raised in the Interstellar Era, where the nutrient solutions are said to be far superior to food.

Only after travelling to a different world, Mu Ning learned the art of cooking and improved, making her shabby restaurant well known.

There were also the mechanical parts, which were later used to build factories. These factories produced various commonly used ingredients like processed milk, rice paper, cheese, processed spices, instant noodles, etc.

Now she was like a hands-free boss, responsible only for counting money.

Even the system was impressed by her progress and noted that few players had reached her level, but none of them were as fast as she was.

[Host, are you ready to return?]

"Hm? Heck yeah!" Mu Ning exclaimed in an excited voice.

........

Mu Ning's eyes fluttered as she saw an unfamiliar ceiling. The ceiling was in fact a vast expanse of galaxy dotted with numerous pearly stars.

The ethereal scene spread a smile on Mu Ning's face.

"Wow... the hospitals have upgraded their facilities to this point? Guess my world is still the best."

Her eyes took in the surroundings.

6 floor-to-ceiling windows, on whose each end were curved white metallic walls. A few artificial plants, an oval-shaped mirror, two black magnetic floating chairs with fluffy seats, and a table in between.

It was a desolate room, if the ceiling wasn't considered.

"Hmm... these plants are so fake... sigh, I will have to design a realistic one. My world is truly lacking... ehe?"

Mu Ning froze when her eyes crashed into a pair of wary eyes.

Holy god of mother!

"Wow... so cute, dolls! Are they robots? How has so much changed..."

Midway through her sentence, Mu Ning looked electrocuted.

[Host, they are your children!]

Yup... that was the statement Mu Ning heard.

Mu Ning: (ὀ⌓ὀ⑅)

'My children?' Mu Ning blanked out for a second before rushing toward the mirror.

Various possibilities flashed in her mind. Maybe she was transmigrated into some other body? Or maybe this was a new mission.

But the familiar yet unfamiliar woman in front of her made Mu Ning almost scream. Her natural green hair was dyed in a black color, while her weight seemed to have jumped straight up to 120 pounds!

Though she hadn't transformed into a fatty, it was safe to say... she was far away from her ideal body shape.

It took Mu Ning 1 minute to calm down. Her adaptability power had increased by leaps and bounds while traveling to different worlds.

Once her mind calmed down, her eyes swept over to the twins.

There was a boy dressed in a white suit; his green hair was neatly styled... though it looked unnatural and tacky.

Mu Ning guessed that his hair color was most probably dyed.

He had a button nose just like, while his eyes... Mu Ning's eyes skipped a beat.

Those almond eyes reminded her of someone... someone whom she couldn't forget even after travelling to various worlds.

Her eyes involuntarily fell on the girl beside the boy. She too had green hair; however, hers looked natural. Coupled with an oval face and upturned eyes, she resembled childhood Mu Ning.

"You..."

Before Mu Ning could speak, the twins turned around and ran away like they had seen a monster.

Mu Ning: "..." Wow! What a good start, huh?

"System." Mu Ning's voice was calm and composed, making anyone hardly believe that she was controlling the urge to go on a killing spree. "You have a day. Search and tell me what is going on."

[Um... yes, host.]

The cute, pink, fairy-like Pokémon looked visibly worried and vanished into thin air.
