Ming Ju continued, "When I had my first child, I wasn't ready to become a mother. I was confused and depressed, and I never really wanted that responsibility."
She gently stroked her stomach.
"But this time, it's different. I love the child I'm carrying now. I don't think I'll ever be able to love my first child in the same way."
Her words became increasingly strange.
Then she looked directly at Gwen.
"That's how people are. Once they have another child, they naturally start forgetting about the older one."
She paused before adding with a pointed smile,
"Even your own family might forget about you if your mother has another baby. After all, from what I can tell, you probably weren't even born because your mother wanted you."
Gwen's eyes widened.
For a moment, she couldn't understand why this woman was saying such things.
How could she know anything about her family?
And why was she deliberately trying to make her feel unwanted?
