Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: back home

Back in the park.

"Whoa—what happened to you?" Shirou is in quite shock. Karna's jacket was dusted with dirt, with several parts torn, as if he had just walked out of an explosion.

"I was… fighting someone off," Karna replied calmly, as if it were the most normal thing in the world.

"Fighting?" Shirou's voice tightened. "Didn't I specifically say not to fight random people?"

"I acted in self-defense," Karna answered without hesitation, his expression unchanged. "The mortal attacked first."

Shirou ran a hand down his face.

Of course. Of course his Servant would run into trouble on his very first day in this world.

"What kind of mortal are we talking about here?" Shirou asked, already bracing himself.

"A blind one," Karna replied.

Shirou froze. "You… attacked a blind person?"

"He is not so blind, Master." Karna's voice remained perfectly level. "That man tore apart an entire section of forest with a single attack. I doubt you could survive it without tracing any Noble Phantasm."

Shirou blinked. From dragons to forest-shattering 'blind mortals'? Yeah… this world was definitely not as normal as he had hoped.

"…Anything else?" he asked cautiously.

Karna nodded. "Yes. I saw many lost souls."

"Lost souls?" Shirou echoed.

"They looked like monsters… but their essence was undeniably human. Their souls have twisted into something else."

"Like curses?" Shirou guessed.

"Exactly. As if the soul itself became a curse." Karna folded his arms, explaining calmly. "In my understanding, curses are powerful spiritual consequences—born from anger, hatred, or fate—capable of affecting gods, demons, and humans alike. They are meant to strike an individual, not transform into one."

He looked at Shirou.

"But here, the soul does not carry a curse. It is the curse. It should align with what your world considers a 'curse spirit,' does it not, Master?"

"Right…" Shirou murmured. "Shinto beliefs do say a person's soul can become a curse. That's why so many ghosts in Japanese folklore still look human."

He remembered hearing those stories every New Year from the shrine priest—tales of spirits warped by regret or hatred. But he never expected those old teachings to manifest so clearly in reality.

Still… compared to everything he had already witnessed, this wasn't the strangest thing in his life. He had fought Dead Apostles. He had killed phantasmal beasts. A cursed soul wasn't exactly new territory.

But something still bothered him.

If Karna could find these cursed souls that easily…If they were wandering around in the open like it was normal…

Then there was a chance this world wasn't just hiding supernatural dangers. It was used to them.

"Can I know where you found these curses?" Shirou asked.

"Graveyards. Old houses. Abandoned streets," Karna answered without hesitation.

Shirou exhaled slowly. Places with heavy omens—it made sense. Spirits like that were born from grief, anger, and unfinished regrets. At least they weren't roaming around in broad daylight.

"Karna," Shirou said, his eyes narrowing slightly, "if I asked you to eliminate those curses… could you do it?"

"Of course, Master. There would be no issue." Karna paused, tilting his head. "But why ask? What purpose does it serve?"

Shirou answered without hesitation. "Well… someone's going to get hurt eventually, right? If we leave them alone."

Karna's expression softened—just slightly. "You care too much for the lives of strangers who don't even know you, Master. You have always been like this. But it is not a healthy way to live."

"I know," Shirou replied, quiet but firm. "Anyway, I need to go back home now. My… family is probably worried about me. Just do more scouting around this area. I'm not really in the mood to fight random enemies."

He was a little tired—no one could blame him. He had just come out of a life-and-death situation, and now he had to relive his other self's younger body again. It almost felt like a curse, yet it was still, in some way, him.

"I see. I shall do as you ask."

"Thank you Karna i knew i can counted on you"

Thank you, Karna. I knew I could count on you."

Shirou said this as Karna walked away, slowly turning into spirit form before completely vanishing from sight.

With him gone, Shirou stood up from the bench. He looked up at the sky, staring at the bright moonlight reflecting in his eyes, then closed them.

"Let's go home."

He said it to himself—home, a place that had never truly been his in the first place.

Using his new memories, he managed to arrive at a typical Japanese house: a two-story, modern concrete building. It was very different from Kiritsugu's old, traditional home.

This would be something new for him—though not entirely, considering those memories refused to let him feel strange about almost anything in this world.

I'm home."

Shirou slowly opened the door.

Then something came flying toward him.

"Urgh—!!"

The impact hit him hard, knocking him straight to the floor.

"Welcome home, onii-chan!"

Ponytails.

A tail.

Horse ears.

Shirou had been thinking about it for a while now—this exact feeling. He knew this should confuse him. Yet somehow… it didn't. No matter how little sense it made, his mind refused to reject it.

Hey… Teio," he said.

His little sister.A half-horse, half-human girl.

It didn't make sense.

And yet—he didn't feel strange about it at all.

He gently pushed her aside and stood. "Aren't you supposed to be at Tracen?"

"Well, Mom asked me to come home for dinner tonight, so here I am!"

Her academy was prestigious—ridiculously so. Seeing her back already was unexpected.

Especially when so many of the people there—"Umamusume"—were literal superstars.

"I see…"

"Come on, onii-chan! Mom and Dad are waiting!"She grabbed his arm and started pulling."Hey, slow down. I'm coming," he sighed.

They reached the kitchen.

His mother—also an "Umamusume"—is

placing dishes on the table.A man sat nearby, quietly reading the news.

Shirou glanced at him.

His father's face felt… wrong. As if something blurred his vision whenever he tried to focus.

I'll think about it after dinner.

He sat beside Teio.

"Shirou, Mom made your favorite. Nikujaga."

The smell reached him immediately—warm, rich, familiar. He took a bite.

It tasted good.

Maybe… this 'other self' isn't so different after all.

"So, Emiya," his father said, "how was school?"

Shirou paused. "…It was fine."

Nothing special. Nothing interesting.

Teio leaned closer. "Did you make any new friends?"

New friends…Did those two count?

"…You could say that."

"Really?" She smiled. "That's rare for you. Still—progress is progress, right?"

The words hit harder than he expected.

Coming from a teenager… they made him rethink a lot about his own past.

"Crazy, right, Nobara?"

Nobara was writing something in her notebook, jotting down every single detail Saki mentioned.

"So you're saying he's 5.8, auburn short hair, sharp jaw, and has some so-called servant with a huge a## spear that can teleport?" She paused her pen. "Well… not that crazy."

"Of course you wouldn't believe me—wait. Not that crazy?"

"Well, considering what happened in today's world, something like this is simply normal. I believe you might even see a flying blind man in the Tokyo sky if you focus hard enough."

"R—right… anyway, you're still at that Tokyo school? When will you go back to Chiba?"

"Hey, don't ask me that. I haven't finished my first year yet. Maybe if I get a break or something, I'll come back."

"Well, that's disappointing. This school is boring as hell. I feel like I'd be better off working than going here."

"Yeah, I feel you. Anyway, about that guy… can you look at him for me?"

"Why? Don't tell me you want to try him after hearing his description. That's quite low, you know."

"Hey! Handsome man is handsome man. Don't judge me."

"Whatever, dude."

She turned off the call, cutting the conversation short. Nobara wasn't expecting this from her friend, but again

Who expect another jujutsu sorcery is the same school as her friends.

"What was that nobara" she look in front of her, Yuji is slurping a the instant noodles that not so cheap one that they find at gojo sensei office,

"Some old friend, she somehow meet a sorcerer like us in her school"

"Isn't that bad?" Megumi ask, He is not wrong normal people not suppose to see what behind the curtain of jujutsu world.

"Well, it only bad if gojo sensei know that-

"What do i suppose to know~"

Shock jolted on Nobara body, she turn around "woah sensei... Uhm when are you arrived" she see Gojo standing behind her

"Well not long time ago, - hey what a nice notebook i gonnna snatch that" he grab the notebook from Nobara hand.

"Hey! That mine"

"So that thing you eating right now, so lets me take look at this for a bit."

He read it for a bit, it somewhat a normal description, but it hit somewhat when it

Written that the kid in mention has servant, no that servant description with spear is quite familiar as if it the guy that he just meet before that he somewhat familiar,

He smile

(So that where you are)

Maybe that the way he could find him

"Nobara, what kind of school is your friend in"

"S-sobu high. Why?"

"Nothing, sensei gonna do somewhat tomorrow, hey yuji want to follow me?"

"Go where go where?"

"Chiba.
