Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: Nappa Wants to Become a True Leader

After finishing his talk with Nappa, Vegeta used Instant Transmission and took him straight to Planet Vegeta-79.

For the people inside the base, seeing a man who had died long ago suddenly appear was a shock beyond words.

But they recovered quickly enough — after all, with Dragon Balls that grant wishes, it was obvious: Vegeta had resurrected Nappa.

Many at the base reacted poorly to Nappa's return, especially the warrior cadres. They had been training intensely, hoping to rise through the ranks and seize the position of Vegeta's top lieutenant. Now that Nappa had appeared beside Vegeta once more, it was clear who the prince intended to place in charge.

No one dared oppose it.

Nappa was a Saiyan.

And no matter how loyal the non-Saiyan personnel were, they weren't the same.

Moreover, Nappa had been with Vegeta since childhood. Even if his power had been unimpressive, his presence alone commanded respect among the lower-level fighters.

Vegeta didn't care about their murmurs.

This was a world ruled by strength.

The weak obey.

Nappa walked in with the same swagger he always had. Nothing about his attitude had changed. Back when he had been just a follower, he still carried himself like "Lord Nappa" in front of the grunts. Now that Vegeta had slain Frieza and King Cold and stood at the peak, Nappa's status naturally rose with him.

From this moment on, Saiyan rule would be absolute on this planet.

Vegeta didn't dislike Nappa's arrogance; he accepted it.

The original Vegeta's memories told him exactly what kind of man Nappa was. A bit of pride and forcefulness was fine — as long as Nappa obeyed and carried out his duties.

Vegeta never doubted Nappa's loyalty. If he had, Nappa would have died again already.

Compared to the various aliens in this base, Nappa followed commands with one hundred and fifty percent dedication. Many of the personnel here served Vegeta and Bulma faithfully, but complete trust was impossible — there were still spies and opportunists waiting for their chance.

Frieza's army had always been filled with hidden factions.

Frieza never cared; he believed his overwhelming power made their schemes meaningless.

To him, they were insects — unless they annoyed him, he wouldn't bother crushing them.

"Hera, you remember the commander of Frieza's ship?" Vegeta began. "He's now the highest officer in this base after Bulma and me. He handles general command and reports directly to us."

"Zack — head of research and chief of the medical corps."

"Jess — head of logistics."

"Relo and Chris — captains of the Planet Vegeta-79 guard. Don't underestimate them. A month ago their battle power was only two or three thousand. After my… intensive training, their power has exceeded ten thousand."

"Ten thousand?"

Nappa blinked, stunned.

He didn't have a scouter to verify it, but Vegeta never joked about things like this.

Relo and Chris puffed up proudly.

They remembered Nappa's old power reading — around four thousand. They hadn't scanned him now, so they didn't know he had changed as well.

"You know I don't joke, Nappa. If you don't want to be thrown aside, you'll have to keep getting stronger," Vegeta said. "And Relo, Chris — the same goes for you. Ten thousand is just the beginning. If you don't want the new recruits to surpass you, train harder."

"Yes, Lord!" they answered immediately.

Vegeta turned back to Nappa.

"I won't waste time on speeches. You'll be staying here for a long while — learn how things run." His voice turned cold. "Remember this: you're the only Saiyan here besides me. Leave behind the barbaric ways of the past. Learn how to lead. Don't shame your position — but don't let it make you conceited. You know what I expect. If you fall behind, cause trouble, or disappoint me…"

He didn't need to finish the sentence.

Nappa stood quietly as the words sank in. By the time Vegeta nodded to the subordinates he and Bulma had appointed, Nappa's expression had shifted — pride mixed with determination.

As Vegeta walked forward, everyone lined up on either side respectfully. They would not follow unless called. Hera remained at Vegeta's side as always — one of his most trusted aides — with a few guards ready for orders.

Nappa followed behind Vegeta, still chewing over everything he'd heard. Outwardly calm, but inside his blood boiled.

Noble blood.

Saiyan legacy.

Leadership.

At fifty-plus years old, he finally felt he had the chance to rise — truly rise — under Vegeta's reign.

To avoid looking like an uncultured brute, he forced himself to focus on the surroundings as Vegeta led him through the base toward a special facility.

The gravity training chamber.

"As usual," Vegeta said, "leave only the two assigned guards. Everyone else is dismissed."

Hera and the guards left immediately.

Only two remained — their job was simply to make sure no one died. Relo and Chris themselves had nearly died several times during their own gravity sessions; without observers, survival wasn't guaranteed.

Nappa looked at the compact chamber and frowned.

"So this is where you're going to start my hell training? Looks too small to even swing a fist."

Vegeta's eye twitched.

"Is that so? Good. Keep that confidence."

He turned toward the control console.

"Core, activate gravity field."
