Xing Luoye stepped closer, his shadow looming over the boy. "How did you even find this place?" he demanded, his voice trembling with fury and fear. "No one discovers Dune City by accident."
The boy threw his head back and laughed like a maniac.
The sound echoed off the cold walls of the holding area. "You think you're so well-hidden? You think your little sand curtains can keep the world out forever?"
Xing Luoye's eyes turned murderous. "You are not leaving this place alive. Do you really think a single person...a pretty little pup like you can snatch her away from us and walk out unscathed?"
He raised his fist again, his mind spiraling into paranoia.
If this boy had found them, did that mean the Empire's ships were already on their way?
The thought of his people being massacred because their location was leaked made him lose all control. He began to strike the boy again, his blows landing with desperate, frantic force.
