Akira looked at the three options hovering in his peripheral vision.
Then he looked at Aoi.
Her eyes were red from crying; her breathing was shallow, but there was a honesty in her vulnerable gaze that pulled at something deep inside him.
He made his decision without thinking too much.
"Option B," he murmured under his breath.
The system chimed once, confirming his choice.
Aoi blinked. "What did you say?"
"Nothing important." He said as he reached up and brushed a stray strand of hair away from her damp cheek. Then his thumb tracing the soft curve of her jawline. "Are you sure this is what you need right now? We don't have to rush anything."
She nodded, still holding his shirt tight with her small hands as if it was the only thing holding her together. "I just… I need to feel something real, something that's not fear or guilt. Even if it's just for a little while. Please, Akira."
Her voice cracked on the last word, and it twisted something in his chest.
