Chapter 19 - You are pretty

Looking at this face that outshone even Nuwa herself, Sofia spoke with clear admiration,

"How on earth do you have such a face, it makes even me, a woman, completely envious."

The look of admiration and jealousy on Sofia's face amused Calvin.

"You're pretty too.

I may not have known you before, but I have heard that you are quite beautiful."

Calvin was not lying – someone who had managed to win this much reputation solely with her looks could only be Sofia.

Sofia quipped and said, "I'm just a vase, beyond my face, I have nothing else.

Others better not follow my example."

She was quite self-aware.

Calvin laughed slightly, genuinely finding her self-awareness and authenticity rather refreshing.

When the two of them came out after changing clothes, they once again looked like a pair of handsome and beautiful people.

This time, Sofia didn't wear a face bikini.

After all, it would be rather inconvenient to wear it when going out.

But she had herself completely wrapped up, even wearing a hat with an oversized brim.

The hat also had a face mask attached, revealing only a pair of eyes from her entire head.

She even wore cool sleeves on the parts of her hands that were exposed.

Looking at Sofia, who was now completely unrecognizable, Calvin paused briefly.

"Are you worried about being recognized by fans?"

Sofia shook her head, "I'm aware of my popularity.

While people might recognize you, only my haters would be able to recognize me."

Speechless, Calvin responded, "You don't have to belittle yourself like this.

I imagine there are many people who would like you."

Sofia shook her head, speaking calmly, "Those who like me are just fans of my looks.

You know the type, they're fickle as can be.

You could say they're a massive fish pond, and I am merely one of the fish they keep."

"They might recognize my face when they see me, but they definitely won't know who I am."

Though it sounded a bit heartbreaking, it was nonetheless the truth.

If the original owner truly had that many fans, they wouldn't have been so harshly criticized over a minor issue.

After only one day of streaming, there had already been multiple waves of harsh comments.

No matter what happened, the first response from everyone was to criticize her.

Calvin felt a little heartache as he listened, believing this young girl shouldn't be treated so poorly.

"I think you're quite good, and your character is appealing too.

You should continue to stay this way."

Calvin lightly patted her head, both of them pausing in the moment of contact.

[Damn! Is Calvin showing sympathy for her?!]

[Nonsense! This is just a typical comforting gesture.

But honestly, she does seem to have it tough.

She doesn't have any actual damaging reputation, the worst is just her fiery temper.]

[It seems so, right.

If you search for her scandals, the most you can find is her temper.

Even at her worst, she doesn't lash out at people.

Some staff mentioned that she tends to throw her own things when angry, but wouldn't vent it on others.]

[Well, that's what I do when I get angry too.

It's natural for people to have tempers.

Her behaviors are only exaggerated because of her celebrity status.]

[Having a second thought, it does seem hard for her.

She didn't choose to be adopted.

She was just a baby when she was adopted, and when the real heiress came back, there was no actual conflict between them.

It is just netizens making things up.]

Jane, the senior agent, was shocked by these comments.

How come there were suddenly so many positive reviews for her?

Did she just win over a group of fans?

She truly has a knack for this!

Sofia didn't react when Calvin patted her head, this marked the first time in her life being patted this way.

However, something about his action seemed a bit off.

"You, you're kind of like petting a dog," his head pat felt oddly like he was petting a dog.

Calvin stiffened his hand, then awkwardly withdrew it, "Sorry, I have a dog at home and I'm accustomed to petting it this way."

Sofia: ... understandable, but still!

Better to let it be, considering he meant well.

"I was just wondering why Calvin's petting gesture looked so familiar.

Turns out, it's the same way I pet my dog at home."

"Ha, look at Sofia's expression, even though we can only see her eyes, her worthlessness is palpable."

Sofia, seeing Calvin unprepared, offered her another hat.

"Wear this.

The sun is really strong outside, better to avoid sunburns.

Plus, in case anyone recognizes you and causes trouble, this can help cover your face."

Calvin showed no pretenses, he directly accepted it, "Thank you very much then."

When the duo went out, they looked like assassins, causing passersby to mistake them as cosplaying.

When Cindy and others saw the two of them, their expressions were unanimously speechless.

"Are you two doing Cosplay?

I think you even need to carry a branch or something to complete the look."

While others are eager to show their faces on reality TV, these two are different.

Apart from displaying their faces upon arrival, and during lunch, they keep their faces hidden.

Sofia touched her hat and said, "Isn't the sun too high?

I'm afraid of getting sunburned."

"You all need to be careful as well.

I see that your necks are reddening.

It's not a problem to tan, but sunburn is troublesome."

Nelly touched her neck and indeed, she could feel some heat.

"We'll have to take good care of it when we get back tonight.

If only we knew to prepare more physical sun protection items like you.

This sunscreen is pretty much useless."

Sofia proudly lifted his head, "This is called foresight!"

A hint of laughter flashed in Cindy's eyes, and all these were captured by the camera.

The rumors of the sisters being at odds have gradually disappeared.

If they really didn't get along, they wouldn't be so harmonious.

Many shots were of Sofia messing around at the front, with Cindy smiling at her from behind.

And whenever anyone targeted Sofia, Cindy would immediately become serious.

If this counts as being at odds, then there's no such thing as harmony in this world.

"Let's go, let's go, we split up.

We'll meet here at five thirty, collect all the money and go out for dinner!"

How can one not eat seafood when at a seaside, isn't it?

The seafood at lunch was indeed delicious, she simply hadn't had enough.

The three teams or the two teams separated.

Sofia took Calvin out to the streets, then they arrived at a teahouse.
