Selene's Room:
Selene was sitting on her bed, lost in her thoughts.
Talking to herself, she sighed:
"Good thing Grandpa stopped me… Otherwise where would I have gone? I'm new in this world anyway.
Sure, everyone here knows me… but I know absolutely nobody."
Then she glanced at the mirror and smirked.
"And this story's heroine? She's gorgeous… but definitely not prettier than me."
And it was true.
Selene's skin was fairer than fresh milk, her eyes a soft shade of hazel-green, her lips naturally thin with a small mole on the lower one.
Her hair fell in thick waves all the way to her waist.
With a height of 5'5, she looked like God had taken his time crafting her.
Very patiently. 😉😉
Selene continued,
"Anyway… according to the story, tomorrow the hero should make his entry.
But I better stay away from him.
I'm not ruining my life like the old Selene did.
No, baba… never again." 🥺
Mia's Room
Mia held a photograph in her hands and smiled sweetly.
"I heard you're coming tomorrow…
But I won't talk to you. I'll pretend to be angry…
And you'll have to convince me."
Still staring at the picture, she whispered:
"Just wait, Daniel…
I'll trap you in my love so deeply that you won't be able to think about anyone except me."
(Guys, this Mia really looks suspicious 😉😉)
Evening
In the living room, everyone was sitting together, talking.
Grace asked,
"Ryan, did you talk to Daniel?"
Ryan replied,
Yes Mom, he'll arrive tomorrow."
"Good," Grace smiled.
"I've had his room cleaned.
And the rest—you all know what Daniel likes and dislikes.
Arrange everything in his room accordingly."
She took a deep breath.
"You all know how much Daniel's family has helped us.
We couldn't be with them in their last moments…
But as long as I'm alive, I'll try to love Daniel like a mother."
Ryan nodded.
"Okay, Mom."
Then Kayson spoke,
"Has anyone seen Selene? She's not around."
Mia answered quickly,
"She's in her room.
Didn't come out all day.
But tomorrow when Daniel arrives, watch—
she'll spend the entire day outside the room…
finding excuses to go near him."
There was something strange in Mia's tone—something only she understood.
The others simply nodded.
Soon it was dinner time.
Selene also came downstairs and sat at the table.
Ronald spoke loudly on purpose,
"Mom, Daniel is arriving tomorrow!"
He wanted to see Selene's reaction.
But Selene quietly continued eating…
as if she hadn't heard anything.
Everyone found this strange.
Earlier Selene used to go crazy with excitement whenever Daniel was mentioned.
After dinner, everyone went to their rooms.
Ryan's Room
Ryan stood on the balcony, deep in thought.
Just then, his phone rang—Daniel's name flashing on the screen.
He picked up quickly.
A cold voice spoke from the other end:
"I've found a villa for myself.
I'll be staying there."
Ryan froze.
"What nonsense is this?
Mom is so happy you're coming.
She prepared your room herself with so much love.
If you don't come… she'll be hurt."
Daniel replied flatly,
"Explain it to her. She'll understand.
Ryan clenched his jaw.
"I know why you're refusing.
It's because of Selene, isn't it?"
Silence.
Ryan continued,
"Listen—this time, just come.
If Selene does anything again, you can leave the house.
We won't stop you."
Daniel said nothing… then disconnected the call.
Ryan muttered angrily,
"Thank God for your sister
Otherwise you would've left this world long ago." 😡
Selene's Room — Midnight
Around 1 a.m., Selene was asleep, hugging her teddy bear tightly.
She suddenly woke up—thirsty.
She grabbed the water jug…
Empty.
Her face crumpled in annoyance.
"Ughhh… now I have to go downstairs for water?
Why does this always happen to me?" 😤
She went down to the kitchen.
While pouring water, she heard footsteps.
"Who's up at this hour?"
She whispered to herself,
"Let me go check—
No… what if it's someone from the family?
Better turn on the light.
If it's someone from the house, fine.
But if it's a thief…
then I'll handle him myself." 🤨
Selene tiptoed forward and switched on the hall lights.
The moment she saw the man standing there…
She froze.
He was tall—almost 6 feet.
Sharp jawline, pale skin, deep black eyes,
messy hair falling over his forehead.
His presence alone carried an intimidating beauty—
as if God had poured all the world's perfection into one man.
Selene whispered,
"Oh my God… he's so handsome.
Hope my evil eye doesn't fall on him."
Just then a voice interrupted.
"Daniel…"
It was Kayson, holding a water jug.
Selene groaned internally,
"Great timing…
Didn't even get a proper chance to admire him."
Then her eyes widened.
"W-wait…
Did he just say Daniel?
This… THIS is Daniel?
The hero of the story… and a mafia boss too?!"
Selene panicked.
"No! Stay away from him, Selene…
You know exactly what will happen."
She grabbed her glass and quietly walked away.
Kayson asked,
"Selene, what are you doing at this hour?"
Selene replied coldly,
"What, do I need your permission to drink water now?"
And she left.
Kayson watched her go, confused.
Daniel, however…
was staring at her with those cold, unreadable eyes.
Something about Selene felt different today—
he didn't know what,
but he couldn't look away.
And strangely…
he liked watching her.
He shook off the thought
and walked towards his room.
