Chapter 101 - The Poor Kitten

Perhaps it was the force of gravity, but the moment Su Cheng saw the girl before him, his gaze was drawn to her full, rounded breasts.

He could swear to God that he was not the kind of person who couldn't resist temptation.

Logically speaking, at this age, even with the extraordinary talent of a Soul Master, a little girl shouldn't be so well-developed.

Su Cheng looked up, and what he saw was Zhu Zhuqing's cold, almost indifferent expression, which didn't match her fiery figure and delicate, lovely face.

Nearly two weeks had passed since the last conflict in the square. Through his efforts of forming cliques and using both kindness and force, almost all the freshmen had gathered around him, except for a few.

  Su Cheng raised an eyebrow.

Judging from her expression, she probably already knew about Dai Mubai's escape from the capital.

Zhu Zhuqing also noticed Su Cheng sitting in the middle-to-back seat of the classroom at first glance.

It was the instinctive connection between her Netherworld Cat Martial Soul and White Tiger Martial Soul.

Looking at the young man, she was slightly distracted, feeling a strange sense of familiarity.

It wasn't just because of the special nature of his martial soul, but also because of that subtle, approachable aura.

Having lived in fear and loneliness since childhood, Zhu Zhuqing unconsciously wanted to be close to him, seeking warmth or protection.

But to Zhu Zhuqing's surprise, the person before her was very unfriendly.

  "What are you looking at?"

Su Cheng crossed his arms, sizing her up.

He lazily said, "The one who abandoned you was Dai Mubai, why are you staring at me?"

Hearing this, Zhu Zhuqing's slightly softened expression instantly froze.

"What, I've hit a nerve, want to punch me? Then you'd better watch carefully, don't miss."

Zhu Zhuqing felt a chill run down her spine.

The scrutinizing gazes of the surrounding crowd made her feel as if she were in a frozen wasteland.

"How pathetic, abandoned and too scared to utter a sound, wearing that deadpan face for whom?"

Su Cheng showed no sign of stopping, continuing his tirade.

As his words fell, the entire room erupted in laughter.

Although they didn't know why Su Cheng was targeting this new girl, given his current influence, if he showed such rejection, others would naturally follow suit.

Children from noble families are exposed to far more than ordinary people from a young age, and their minds are far more complex.

Su Cheng looked at the jeering crowd, a strange glint in his eyes.

Zhu Zhuqing's expression grew increasingly cold, her already aloof eyes dimming to almost deathly stillness.

The mocking gazes around her might mean nothing to most people,

but when they fell upon her, they were far more lethal than any physical attack, sending a chill down her spine.

Regarding how to cultivate Zhu Zhuqing,

Su Cheng, based on his current age and situation, had formulated a general plan during this period.

First, she needs to harden her heart.

If she were weak-willed, she definitely couldn't be provoked in this way.

Children are prone to extremes; if Yu Yu were to give up on herself, it would be counterproductive.

But Zhu Zhuqing shouldn't be that kind of person; she's far stronger than other children her age.

However, even though she grew up in such a bloody and cruel family environment and suffered Dai Mubai's betrayal, she's still too naive and too kind.

  That won't do.

She needs to be corrupted, made to fall, taught to be ruthless, and to do things by any means necessary.

Most importantly, she needs to develop ambition.

However, ambition needs other methods to catalyze it.

But forcing her, exploiting her, and making her face reality—there are plenty of ways to do that now.

Of course, Su Cheng's current approach isn't without risk.

If Zhu Zhuqing chooses not to come to school from today onwards, he'll be in more trouble and need to think of other solutions.

However, he anticipates that this possibility is not very high.

Having stayed in the capital for so long, Su Cheng now has a considerable understanding of the situation of the various families in the Star Luo Empire.

Knowing that the Zhu family wasn't exactly a peaceful place, and that there were plenty of conflicts within the family, it made sense.

Under such a cruel system of trials, how could there possibly be any brotherly love or sisterly affection?

In comparison, no matter how much she was bullied at school, at least she was safe.

And those who hurt her were just strangers, nothing like the chilling conflict between family members.

Besides, Su Cheng had carefully measured the situation today; it wasn't that serious.

Such a setback shouldn't be enough to make her back down.

"Sigh, forget it. I guess you wouldn't dare lay a hand on me. But that's normal. Maybe you don't even have many years left to live. Waiting for Dai Mubai to come back from his life of pleasure, and then you two can die together—that would be a relief."

At this point, Su Cheng's face suddenly showed a thoughtful expression.

"Actually, you didn't need to come to the academy. All that effort in cultivation is ultimately meaningless. Wouldn't it be better to run away like Dai Mubai and enjoy life—"

Before he could finish speaking, a gust of wind from a fist came rushing towards her.

Zhu Zhuqing finally couldn't take it anymore.

To her surprise, Su Cheng showed no intention of dodging, his mocking smile remaining unchanged.

Seeing this, she unconsciously reduced her strength and slightly changed her direction.

  Su Cheng's eyes flickered.

He leaned forward slightly, bringing his face closer.

  "Smack!"

The sound of flesh hitting flesh rang out.

The punch landed squarely on Su Cheng's left cheek.

Blood gushed from his nose and mouth, and Su Cheng instantly fell backward to the ground.

A barely perceptible fluctuation of soul power rippled through his meridians.

  He fainted on the spot.

  "Damn it!"

  "Quick, go find the teacher!"

  "Someone's dead!"

  "Su Cheng, are you alright?!"

  "..." Zhu Zhuqing stood frozen,

staring at Su Cheng's fallen figure

  , unsure how to react.

"Zhu Zhuqing! Look at what you've done!"

A loud, angry voice rang out from the academy's infirmary.

The severity of the tone made the surrounding students' hearts skip a beat.

The dean was clearly furious. The speaker was none

other than the dean of the Junior Royal Academy, a nobleman with a cultivation level of 73, the Soul Saint Zong Yun.

"Your soul power is disordered, and your body was almost crippled! If it weren't for the timely treatment, you might have been in mortal danger! Such ruthless actions at such a young age, are you trying to kill someone?!"

Unlike the students who were secretly speculating, Zong Yun was one of the few who knew Su Cheng's true identity.

Not to mention that such vicious incidents of fighting resulting in injury were not allowed in the academy, Su Cheng's status alone did not allow such an accident to occur in the academy.

With his White Tiger Martial Soul and level seven innate soul power, and without having to participate in the struggle for the royal heir,

his future prospects, in Zong Yun's view, were clearly far superior to those of ordinary nobles.

As for Zhu Zhuqing, to be honest, he didn't think this girl could survive the cruel royal struggle.

After today's incident, his dislike for her only increased.

He coldly reprimanded her, "Don't think that just because you're from the Zhu family, you can act lawlessly and recklessly. Let me tell you, in the Royal Academy, even royal children have to obediently follow orders!"

Zhu Zhuqing opened her mouth, about to say something, but was directly interrupted by Zong Yun.

"Don't even think about arguing! The other students present all told me it was just a minor verbal dispute, why did it escalate to this point?!"

Zhu Zhuqing was stunned at first.

Then, she looked around at her classmates with a slightly blank expression.

She found that their expressions were either full of sarcasm, hostile and fearful, or at best, indifferent.

Only then did she understand what had happened.

She lowered her head and remained silent.

Zong Yun had indeed learned some of the general details of the incident from the teachers and students who brought Su Cheng there, but his understanding was clearly superficial.

Those children who sided with Su Cheng naturally sided with him, simplifying the cause of the conflict and Su Cheng's mockery.

In fact, these people didn't think Su Cheng's words were that serious.

On one hand, they weren't involved and couldn't empathize. On the other hand, they didn't understand what Su Cheng's words meant to Zhu Zhuqing.

In their descriptions, they simply mentioned a verbal altercation between the two.

Then, this new student suddenly attacked, seriously injuring Su Cheng.

Even those noble children from prominent families who didn't want to associate with him didn't say much about it.

They disliked Su Cheng's style of behavior but had no reason to stand up for Zhu Zhuqing.

So, Zhu Zhuqing was destined to suffer this loss.

Because even if the matter were explained in detail, Su Cheng had only mocked her a few times, yet he was beaten so badly.

Even if the details of the incident were recounted, it wouldn't affect Su Cheng much.

On the contrary, they might even be targeted by him afterwards.

  They all realized this.

Although they didn't know the reason, Su Cheng clearly disliked this little girl from the Zhu family, and it wasn't worth offending him for it.

Unless they could cause him a huge blow because of this.

That was obviously impossible, because Su Cheng was the victim now.

However, what all the students found hard to understand was why that punch was so powerful.

Was this little girl from the Zhu family really that strong?

One blow was enough to disrupt Su Cheng's soul power circulation and almost cripple him?

Zong Yun himself hadn't thought it could be that complicated; the cause was just a minor conflict between children.

Su Cheng's character was evident to all.

In recent days, both classmates and teachers had spoken highly of him.

If the mutual recognition among students might be mixed with reasons such as interests, deception, intimidation, or background and talent, the academy teachers' stance was obviously much more objective.

Moreover, Zong Yun himself had met Su Cheng several times and believed he understood his character very well.

This conflict was originally just a verbal dispute, and he had no interest in finding out the specifics of what Su Cheng said.

Judging from their current state—one completely unharmed, the other lying unconscious in the infirmary—

was there any need to ask what happened?

"Zhu Zhuqing, if you continue to act so recklessly, you can forget about staying in the academy. This small junior academy can't accommodate a young lady of the Zhu family like you,"

Zong Yun said coldly, his face grim.

"If someone dies one day, no one can bear the responsibility!"

Seeing that Su Cheng's condition had improved, Zong Yun secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

After angrily rebuking Zhu Zhuqing, he turned and left the infirmary.

The other students who were close to Su Cheng quickly gathered around the bed after the dean left.

However, when passing Zhu Zhuqing, they all avoided her like the plague, leaving a large clearing around her.

The aloof girl lowered her head slightly, her face pale.

His pupils were unfocused, his gaze unfocused as he stared blankly at the ground.
