The Alpha wolf was thrown 30 meters to the right, crashing into the forest with a loud boom. A pained whimper could even be heard from him.
BOOM
He smashed into a tree, splitting it in two. If he hadn't been in his wolf form, Peter would have had a broken spine.
As for the one responsible for all this...
'Shit' Jhon cursed in his mind when he saw Lydia bleeding out on the ground.
The look she was giving was one of shock and fear. Her pupils were dilated, her complexion completely pale. The clothes she was wearing were stained up to her waist.
With unnatural speed, he appeared in front of her, crouching down. She was already on the ground.
Lydia only turned her face toward him with faint attempts to speak. All without success.
"Hold on, Lydia!" Jhon shouted with "panic" on his face, as if his arrival had been pure coincidence.
Technically... it was, since the cameras in the video store had been completely turned off by Peter and he had simply taken advantage of it.
However, he couldn't let her die.
So he took his phone out of his pocket and dialed 911.
"Beacon Hills Sheriff's Office, how can I help you?" A female voice answered, clearly ready to assist in any situation.
"There's an accident at the Video 2☆C store!"
"Come quickly!"
"What kind of accident?!" The voice on the phone was clearly alarmed, since depending on what it was, they would have to act faster.
"There's an injured woman, she's bleeding out!" Jhon explained with panic in his voice. However, another smell of blood began to come from inside the store, and it wasn't the clerk's.
'Damn it Jackson, if you don't turn into a Kanima I'm going to smash your face in.'
"Oh no! There's another one, a boy!"
"I-I was just passing by to buy a movie and I saw everything destroyed."
"Please come quickly!"
"Sir, get to safety immediately!" The officer urged him urgently while beginning to give the officers inside the station the address of the video store.
That was the advantage of Beacon Hills being moderately small.
"If it's an animal, it might still be nearby, be careful!"
"Y-Yes, I'll be careful." Jhon answered with a stutter. On his face appeared a "real" look of fear.
"Don't hang up the phone, keep the line open!"
"No, no, no… my phone is dying!"
"Ma'am! Ma'—"
With that, Jhon ended the call. As if by magic, the panic on his face slowly disappeared.
He looked down and saw that Lydia probably didn't have much time left.
A low sigh escaped his mouth. "I hope you don't die, because I don't want to have a vampire running around ripping people's throats out."
Bringing his own hand to his mouth, he easily bit his wrist. Ironically, a strong body falls to its own strong jaw.
Before his body could heal, he brought his forearm to her mouth.
"Hmff" Lydia opened her eyes at how sudden it was. Although her body was extremely weak, her consciousness was barely holding on. Though it's very likely that when she wakes up she won't remember anything.
Jhon only let it stay for a second before pulling it away. In an instant, the holes in his wrist healed.
Knowing that if he gave her too much blood the wound would heal instantly, he only gave her a single drop. Enough to keep her alive, but not enough to raise suspicions about her healing.
The problem with all this is that if someone kills her within the next 3 days… goodbye Banshee Lydia and hello Dhampir Lydia.
Seeing her body slowly regain a slight color, Jhon took off his jacket and placed it on the ground, improvising a pillow for her.
But just before he could place her head there, Lydia passed out from the sheer impact of the situation.
Which was actually a little beneficial for Jhon. So, gently placing her head on the jacket, he looked forward.
What he saw was a trembling attempt at an Alpha staring at him from the darkness.
A demonic smile formed on his face. "You should have taken the chance, wolf."
But Peter couldn't really be blamed for not acting.
Because from his perspective, what stood in front of him was anything but mortal…
His Alpha eyes could see in infrared, even see specters that supernatural beings normally couldn't. So when looking at Jhon, all he saw was a red aura emanating from his entire being; filling the parking lot with his presence.
Peter, regardless of whether he was dominated by instinct, couldn't attack him. He knew that if he did, a normal death would never await him.
So he simply stayed there, watching him stand still while healing his would-be prey. His monstrous paws trembled slightly, while the front ones clenched tightly.
"Go away, I'm not going to be the one to kill you." Jhon said, stopping the leak of his killing intent. He liked Derek better as Alpha, and that would be his role — to kill his uncle.
Peter had already fulfilled his only purpose, it wasn't his problem anymore.
In fact, he would have preferred not to let him hurt Lydia, but since it was necessary for the Banshee to have direct contact with the supernatural, he had to allow it. The other option was to drive her insane, but better not.
The wolf, shaking like a scared child, upon hearing his words, ran backwards as if fleeing from death itself.
"AUUUUUUUU"
He howled up at the full moon as he disappeared.
Jhon didn't know the wolf language, but who knows, maybe that meant: Son of a bitch, I'll get my revenge!
Shrugging at the possible meaning of that howl, he focused his senses inside the store.
'Hm, she's not bleeding out anymore, seems the wound came from the back of the neck' He thought. Apparently Jackson won't become a Kanima because of Derek, but because of his uncle.
Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a dead battery. Then he opened his phone case and swapped the battery.
The other one he simply placed in his dimensional inventory.
'Benefits of being a dimensional lord'
Good thing his clone has part of his soul, otherwise… he simply wouldn't be able to use the features of his dimension.
With boredom, he stayed there, waiting for the officers to arrive.
One minute passed.
That moment.
Wiiiuu—wiiiuu—wiiiuu
The sheriff's deputies had arrived.
As if he had Divine-level acting skills, Jhon's face went from apathetic boredom to overwhelming panic.
.....
While Jhon was talking with the officers.
Inside the dimension. Specifically in the training room.
You could see a little girl lying on the ground with her arms spread out. Her battle uniform was slightly torn, but it seemed whoever injured her had deliberately avoided her private areas.
That same girl was looking upward, tears in her eyes.
"Waaaa... Hic… snif…"
"… big brother … bullied me… sniff"
The whimpering seemed deliberate for whoever was beside her.
Jhon, in his main body, was sitting in the lotus position while reflecting on his gains during these 26 days of training.
His eyebrow twitched when he heard his little sister's crying. Opening his eyes with concern, he looked to the side.
"Princess, what happened? Did I hit you too hard?"
Standing up with a frown, he walked toward his precious little sister, who was still crying inconsolably.
"Hic… snif…" She turned her head away so she wouldn't see him, but her tiny tears symbolized her pain.
"Forgive me... princess" Jhon crouched down to her level, ready to pick her up.
"Come on, let's go eat" He stretched out his hands to lift her from the ground; sometimes you have to spoil your battle maniac.
However, the moment he brought his face closer.
"Hehe, got you" Elysra turned her face toward him and opened her mouth. A primordial flame was about to burst out quickly, but how could she be faster than the one who trains her?
BOOM
Reacting swiftly, Jhon gave her a flick on the forehead, causing a lump to appear.
"Ow ow, that hurt!" Elysra looked at him, pouting with her hands on her forehead while rubbing it.
She was about to complain, but she saw the seriousness on her brother's face and panic began to grow inside her.
"I'm not going to spoil you anymore" Declared the eldest of the Desire family, standing up and walking toward the exit of the training room.
"No, no, no! Big brother, it was a joke!" Elysra stood up from the ground in panic, ran toward Jhon in an instant and jumped onto his back.
"Big brother, it was a joke!"
"Don't stop spoiling me, please... Sniff" This time it really was a small genuine cry.
Hearing her broken little voice, the seriousness on Jhon's face died quickly. He couldn't be blamed — he can't resist his sister!
Picking her up from his back, he carried her princess-style. She immediately rested her little head on his chest, hugging the sides of her brother. In a low whisper she said: "A-Are you going to stop spoiling me?"
A smile formed on Jhon's face. It seems that even if Elysra had developed strange tendencies after her loneliness in the dimension, she was still his beautiful little dragon.
"Never, princess."
"Mm" She nodded against his chest, comforted.
As if being there brought her peace, she fell asleep.
Their figures disappeared, leaving behind traces of destruction.
And specifically, to the left of where Jhon had been, a hill was completely unrecognizable.
Its imposing 100-meter figure had... strange tiny holes all across its surface. Except they weren't really holes. It just looked that way because of the sheer number of lines that had pierced through it.
Because behind it, rising five meters taller than the hill, stood an imposing wall of cosmic energy.
It seemed that if it caught you… your existence would simply vanish without any chance.
Who knows, maybe even a certain Gojo Satoru would end up getting wrecked later on.
