"What do you mean that I can't kill him? I have to kill him." I jumped out of his lips and stared down at him. I looked at him incredulously.


"You can't be serious, Bernard. Why would you want to kill him? Why would you risk everything for something stupid like that?" He stood at his full height, towering over me. He grabbed my face and forced me to look into his eyes.


"Because of you, Elena." His voice came out soft but firm. His declaration made my heart soar eighty feet into the air. This man couldn't be serious, could he?


"You can't go to war just because of me, Bernard." I told him.
