Decarabian, transformed into a stream of azure light, froze in the sky.
Above, the once-solid, grayish-white storm wall was disintegrating, letting out a deafening wail. Massive cracks spread across it, and the escaping turbulent energy made space itself seem to warp.
Venti struggled to maintain Gunnhildr and Lumiere's flight. The two humans and one sprite barely steadied themselves, their blades glowing with the clear light of wind behind them, ready to strike.
Meanwhile, Andrius's massive lupine form transformed into a pure North Wind, sweeping up ice crystals and extreme cold. He charged brazenly into Mondstadt's shattered airspace, carrying a force that could crush everything, heading straight for Decarabian!
The Wolf King before him, sharp blades behind him.
The Solitary King understood that maintaining the storm wall was now meaningless.
He let out a low growl and made his decision.
"Abandon the storm wall, reclaim all authority!"
In an instant, all the power of the fierce gales that had been scattered outside, trying to mend the storm wall, surged madly back into His body!
The elemental energy above all of Mondstadt boiled, emitting a low-frequency hum.
Decarabian erupted with a blinding azure radiance. The light was so intense it temporarily suppressed the rising sun, and His power began to climb and recover at a visible speed!
Andrius's cold North Wind, Venti's pure divine wind, and Decarabian's own violent gales—three authorities of wind, starkly different in nature yet equally powerful, suddenly collided in the sky!
It was a magnificent spectacle of destruction.
Streams of azure, silver-white, and cyan-green light madly cut into, eroded, and exploded against each other, painting the sky into a chaotic palette.
Piercing shrieks and muffled explosions were endless. At the center of the collision, space itself seemed to tremble, and light was distorted, forming a blurry turbulence.
Venti, at the eye of the storm, felt an unprecedented pressure.
The great authority of wind it had borrowed was incomplete to begin with. Now, not only did it have to maintain Gunnhildr and Lumiere's flight, but it also had to divert its attention to resist the omnipresent energy impacts and gale aftershocks.
Without Coppelia nearby to share the defensive duties, it had to control the power of wind with unprecedented finesse, finding a fragile balance between attack and defense, propulsion and stability.
The glow of the cyan light sphere dimmed noticeably, and its flickering frequency grew rapid, clearly nearing its limit.
Gunnhildr and Lumiere also noticed Venti was struggling.
Though blessed with divine authority, they were still mortal. The high-intensity aerial combat and their mounting wounds left them feeling a deep exhaustion.
The two exchanged a look and tacitly changed their strategy. They left the main frontal assault to the powerful King of the North Wind, while they roamed the flanks, looking for opportunities to provide support and create diversions.
In the main battlefield high above, Decarabian and Andrius began a true duel between gods.
The fierce gales became tornadoes that tore everything apart, and the North Wind condensed into frost that froze all things. The two primal powers clashed and annihilated each other endlessly.
Their wills were like bedrock, far beyond what mortals could compare, tirelessly driving their world-destroying powers.
However, the arrow of light from Amos, filled with obsession and despair, had dealt a wound to Decarabian that reached his very essence.
Even after reclaiming most of his authority and briefly gaining the upper hand, the Solitary King gradually began to show signs of decline under the constant interference and erosion of Venti's pure wind and the merciless frontal assault from Andrius.
His movements were no longer as fluid as before, and the circulation of his divine power became sluggish.
Andrius seized a fleeting opening. A giant ice spear capable of piercing mountains instantly condensed, carrying a bone-chilling, deathly cold as it shot straight for Decarabian's heart!
The Solitary King roared, summoning a violent tornado with a wave of his hand to try and shatter the ice spear.
Ice shattered and the tornado dispersed. Although the ice spear was deflected and broken, the extreme cold and impact still caused Decarabian's divine body to fluctuate violently. The outline of his humanoid form began to blur and flicker.
Andrius showed no mercy. The North Wind energy around him compressed and accumulated once more, preparing to deliver the final, decisive blow!
Seeing this, Venti, Gunnhildr, and Lumiere immediately provided support from the side, using wind pressure and sword light to try and block the Solitary King's retreat.
However, Decarabian completely abandoned his humanoid form!
BOOM!
His figure abruptly dissipated, leaving only an incomparably massive, violent tornado in his place!
With his body as its core, the tornado generated an irresistible suction, instantly pulling Venti, Gunnhildr, and Lumiere toward the eye of the storm. At the same time, the tornado spun at high speed, forming the strongest possible shield to meet Andrius's impending kill shot!
If Andrius's attack continued, it would surely severely wound or even tear apart the Solitary King at the tornado's core, but Venti and the two humans, caught at the edge of the eye, would also be fated to have their bodies and souls obliterated in the destructive collision!
At this critical moment!
A white figure streaked across the sky at a speed that surpassed the naked eye! It was Columbina, who had just finished absorbing the fragments of authority!
With Coppelia in tow, she became a flash of light that pierced through space, cutting into the edge of the storm's eye.
Columbina unleashed her newly mastered flight ability with all her might, while Coppelia instantly deployed a wind shield to resist the suction.
The two coordinated seamlessly. Like a bird skimming the water, they "scooped up" the nearly out-of-control Venti, Gunnhildr, and Lumiere, then shot backward at an even greater speed, escaping the tornado's deadly pull!
Almost the second they broke free, Andrius's long-charged attack and the tornado shield that was Decarabian collided with a deafening roar!
In that moment, it was as if the sun had detonated over Mondstadt!
The extreme light blinded everyone instantly, followed by a terrifying boom that could shatter eardrums!
The shockwave from the impact expanded rapidly outward in a ring. Wherever it passed, even space rippled, completely clearing the remaining clouds from the high sky!
"You have to win!"
"Beat the bad guy!"
...
Below, on the land of Mondstadt.
The aftershocks of the divine battle swept across the ground as a gale. Though not fatal, it whipped at people's clothes, made it difficult to stand, and kicked up clouds of dust.
By now, the people in the city had mostly completed their purge of the remaining nobles.
Faced with the apocalyptic divine battle in the sky, the crowd was initially filled with panic.
At that moment, Orion stepped forward. He called out loudly, rallying all the bards to action, organizing everyone to pray for Barbatos and Andrius!
The bards responded swiftly, like scattered notes converging into a symphony.
Guided, the people spontaneously gathered into several groups, standing in open areas to avoid being hit by windborne debris or collapsing buildings.
They clasped their hands to their chests, closed their eyes, and moved their lips, entrusting their most devout faith to silent prayer.
Gunnhildr led the blood-stained knights, forming neat phalanxes.
They leaned on their swords, their gazes firm, and their low prayers, carrying an air of iron and blood, merged with the willpower of the populace.
Orion moved among the commoners, his voice hoarse yet full of power, guiding these newly freed people to transform their yearning for freedom into spiritual strength to support the battle in the sky.
Kuris, meanwhile, gathered the children together. The children tightly clutched the beautiful stones Coppelia had picked up from the riverside, their edges smoothed by the current. The stones showed warm colors of orange-red, tangerine, and milky white.
They strained their young voices, shouting with all their might toward the sky in the purest, most direct language:
"Go for it!"
"You have to win!"
"Beat the bad guy!"
...
High above, Columbina, having gotten a moment of respite, was surrounded by an increasingly rich halo of energy, with azure and crimson light intertwining and flowing around her.
At this moment, she could not only make herself and objects weightless, but also precisely control her flight direction and speed!
Like an elegant white bird, she weaved through the chaotic air currents, steadily maintaining everyone's flight.
Coppelia once again took over a portion of the defensive authority from Venti, focusing on deploying a wind shield to block the splashing energy fragments and gale turbulence.
Thus, Venti, Gunnhildr, and Lumiere were finally able to devote themselves completely to the attack!
The tornado that was Decarabian swept over again, but its power was clearly diminished, its speed and might far less than before.
Andrius swiped his claws, and a condensed slash of North Wind shot out, easily dispersing the attacking tornado.
Lumiere roared, his greatsword, wrapped in immense wind pressure, chopped down and shattered the tornado charging at them!
The dispersing gale turbulence struck the shield deployed by Coppelia, merely creating ripples before being easily neutralized.
Gunnhildr seized the opportunity to advance, using the authority of wind to send her voice into the tornado's core:
"Decarabian! Take a good look below! See what kind of Mondstadt you have created over these four hundred years! See how angry the people are!"
The tornado's rotation seemed to freeze for an instant.
Decarabian "looked" down. He saw the gathered crowd, saw their prayerful postures.
A calm and indifferent voice sounded directly in Gunnhildr's mind:
"The people are still praying to me. They still love me, just as I love them..."
Gunnhildr's pupils constricted. A helpless anger surged in her heart, and she was left speechless.
At the tornado's core, the light flickered violently again. Decarabian attempted to gather his final strength for a counterattack; the tornado began to contract inward, its energy climbing sharply, preparing to erupt!
Andrius acted in sync. An even fiercer North Wind slapped down like an invisible giant palm, forcibly dispersing and disintegrating the counter-attack tornado before it could fully form!
Lumiere poured all his strength and the authority of wind into his greatsword. The divine wind erupted from the blade, extending into a cyan wind blade forty to fifty meters long!
He raised the greatsword with his right hand, then gripped the end of the hilt with his left, and with a sudden exertion of force, brought the greatsword chopping down diagonally at the tornado's core!
"Screeeech—!"
The body of the tornado was forcibly split down the middle. The violent gales dispersed to the sides, temporarily exposing the core.
There, an azure heart beat violently, covered in cracks, with silver-white energy coursing and flashing across its surface!
"Now!"
Gunnhildr shouted softly.
Columbina immediately took the others and became a stream of light, shooting straight for the heart! Venti followed close behind, his cyan light brilliant.
Coppelia's hands moved in a flurry, manipulating the power of wind to push aside the gales that were trying to reconverge and protect the heart, clearing a path!
Gunnhildr moved forward, her sharp sword imbued with a brilliant divine wind, and thrust straight at the exposed heart!
The instant before her sword tip touched the heart, she issued a final proclamation, her voice echoing in the Solitary King's fading consciousness:
"Of the tens of thousands of people in Mondstadt, not a single one is praying for you!"
"Schlick—!"
The sharp sword pierced the heart with precision!
The violently beating heart stiffened, then abruptly stopped. The immense yet chaotic power within instantly lost all restraint and erupted!
"Venti!"
Gunnhildr cried out amidst the turbulent energy, "I'm counting on you!"
Venti, long prepared, transformed into a stream of the purest cyan light. Instantly reclaiming all the scattered authority of wind, he flew without hesitation into the collapsing heart!
He had to redirect, gather, and bring this power back to order before it could completely destroy everything!
However, the final remnant of the Gale Demon God's essential power was still unbelievably strong.
Even without a will, the moment Venti tried to control it, the violent energy still rejected him with a massive explosion!
A terrifying gale, like a billion invisible blades, erupted madly from the heart as the center, tearing in all directions, as if to slice space itself into fragments!
Columbina reacted with extreme speed, her force field at full power. She took Coppelia, Gunnhildr, and Lumiere and retreated sharply, rapidly moving away from the center of the explosion.
At the same time, Coppelia unleashed her full Anemo power, deploying a shield around the four of them to resist the pursuing energy impact.
Propelled by the explosion's thrust, they fell toward the ground like four meteors.
And that out-of-control, exploding authority of the gales, before being restrained by Venti, had already become a natural disaster, instantly generating dozens of terrifying tornadoes on the ground that connected heaven and earth!
These tornadoes moved and tore erratically, threatening to devour the praying crowd below!
The next second, the North Wind that was Andrius poured down from the sky like a silver river!
He displayed a power that would awe mortals. With a swipe of his wolf claws, he "plucked" the raging tornadoes from the earth like weeds and crushed them!
Afterward, His massive phantom hovered two to three hundred meters above the crowd and deployed an incredibly wide shield of icy wind that radiated extreme cold, sheltering everyone in a safe area below.
The out-of-control gales slammed viciously against the icy wind shield, creating a continuous series of explosions, but were unable to penetrate downward.
Unable to be released, the power expanded rapidly outward in all directions, forming a ring of destruction that swept over the mountain walls around Mondstadt!
"RUMBLE—!"
Wherever the ring of gales passed, the mountains surrounding Mondstadt were snapped in half! The upper sections of the mountains crumbled into countless boulders with a deafening roar, were swept up by the gales, and thrown into the distance at astonishing speed, creating a meteor shower that engulfed the world. The sky was instantly dyed a dusky yellow by the kicked-up dust.
This also caused the ground to shake violently, making it nearly impossible for the sheltered people to stand. They had to crouch or lie flat on the ground to barely keep their balance.
Columbina, with Coppelia, Gunnhildr, and Lumiere, landed safely on the violently trembling ground.
The four of them, like everyone else, crouched down, looking up at the aftershocks of the gale above the shield, which still churned and roared, trying to destroy everything.
At this moment, all they could do was join all the survivors of Mondstadt in offering the most devout prayer in their hearts.
Praying that the cyan sprite who had thrown itself into the core of the storm could tame the wild gales and become a true god!
