"But Zylus…" Clare paused, "We never assigned anything to Jace, and I'm finding zero records of him in our database." She slightly staggered, "Just… what happened, Zylus?
When Zylus first came to the academy, it was Jace who accompanied him. The same man who slowed down time just to speak one-on-one. He was the one who told Zylus that Clare chose him as the chosen helper.
"Then," Zylus paused, "How?" Zylus stopped once more, tingles floated down his spine, "How does he know about the person who helped us infiltrate this academy?"
"Zylus," Clare muttered, "What person? You got in here yourself, don't you remember?"
Eldra started approaching Zylus slowly; her smile seemed gentle, but too gentle.
