Back in Kash Mezino's office, Emilia, Frey, Zenos, and Kash himself waited there, each one of them patiently waiting for Zylus…
"When's that idiot gonna be back?" Emilia said, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
Frey took a picture of the tall view outside, "I'm starting to worry about how he's doing. It feels as though he left us completely. I just met him today, too." She paused, looking down at her camera, "But yeah, this picture is beautiful."
Zenos walked up to his brother, "Kash, what assignment should we do for now?" He asked.
Kash stared directly towards him, "It'll probably take a while for Zylus to come back, if he comes back that is. So for now, I guess you can hit some workouts." He finished, taking a sip of water from the plastic bottle that lay over his desk.
Zenos began to walk out. "Let me know when he's back." He raised a hand, waving goodbye, then walked through the door, walking towards the gym.
In the soldiers' high ranking head quarters, only the best are permitted to use facilities, but there are some exceptions; if given administration from a high-ranking individual, that person may enter without complication. In this case, Kash was an extremely high-ranking individual, allowing his little brother, Zenos, to enter as well.
"I'm going to go have a chat with him," Emilia said as she followed Zenos in behind.
Emilia speed walked towards him, as he already walked through the grand hall of the building, her high heels dusting on beautiful red carpets on each step.
"Hey Zenos," she said, "Wait up." Emilia began to breathe, gaining back her initial stamina. "I have a question."
Zenos waited, "What's up?" He said, his tone had a rude demeanor toit.
"Back then, you were acting very friendly to Zylus suddenly, why's that?" Emilia asked, and both of them paused.
Zenos was in front of Emilia, while she was behind him, both staring in the same direction.
"You would never understand it, princess." He whispered, "Go back to your glorious lifestyle."
This was a major turn of events because originally, when Zylus first fought Zenos, he was acting very protective of her. But now, it was like his entire personality had changed, but the truth is, this was nothing new.
"You just act all glorious towards me when were in public, but in private, you hate me." Her mouth shaped into a frown. "What did I even do to you?" Emilia asked.
"If you know that, then why do you still follow me?" He began to walk forward, "You're the reason for all my suffering after all." He whispered low, not enough for Emilia to hear.
Emilia let out a grumpy 'hmm,' then walked back, towards Kash's office.
"Oh, you're back?" Frey intriguely said.
"Yeah, just exchanged a couple of words, it was nothing." She closed the door behind her.
Chris, by this time, had already left again. He came by, gave his motivational speech, then left. Just like a deadbeat father would, but it was because he was confident. Confident in who he decided to take in, Zylus Elwis.
[Arrived: The Demon Realm]
Particles began to shape in the middle of the room, each one connecting together like a puzzle.
"So, no welcoming party?"
It was Zylus; each one of them looked at him in shock. Everyone in that room felt relieved, especially Emilia.
"You finally made it back, idiot." She said, looking away, but her red cheeks didn't lie. "Don't think I was worried about you for a second."
"I should take a photo of this moment," Frey said, as Zylus posed in front of the lens.
"Forget about Emilia's reaction; she was worried sick thinking about you." Kash sneeringly said.
Emilia now blushed in anger, "You know what! I'm done here." She rapidly began to rush out of the room.
"Another one bites the dust, I guess. Anyways, now's the time I assign you and Frey rooms. Kash said, as he stood up, sweat dripped off his forehead.
"Rooms?" Zylus pondered.
"Yeah, you didn't know?" Frey said, "Each cadet is given a room to stay, food to eat, and access to a wide variety of things. Individuals who come from well-known families are given exceptional places to sleep early on. This is the case for both Zenos and Emilia. While others like us have to earn our way to a room." She responded.
A room… a room! Finally! I don't have to sleep in a jail cell for one month anymore! And more food, too? Forget being a soldier, a cadet is where it's at.
"Anyways, back to the subject at hand." Kash said as he grabbed both of their attention, "Each person is designated a room randomly. We use an organized dormitory system, where you must sleep with one other person inside that door." He took a break, putting a hand through his luxurious hair.
"So wouldn't it be best for both of us to just stay together?" Frey asked.
"Unfortunately, the heads would never allow it, a girl and a boy being in the same dorm. But anyway, you guys remember the location of where you first entered the cadet course?" Kash asked.
Frey and Zylus nodded proudly.
"Okay, good. Each dormitory is placed around there; the building you'll be in is based on this key card I'm about to give you." He said, passing them both key cards.
Oh, I see, kind of like in fancy hotels, where you can swipe and the door opens. Not that I've ever been in them.
"You should know the drill," Kash boringly said, "Swipe that key card on your designated door, and kaboom, it's open. Any questions, just ask me, I'll be sitting here the entire time." Kash yawned as he sat back down.
"Sir, how would we know which building to get into?" Zylus asked.
"At the back of the key card, in the top right, it'll say a number; that number is placed on one of the dormitories you'll see located near the cadet course area." He responded. "Oh yeah, every day at eight in the morning, you have to wake up, that's when the course starts again. Weekends, you get off." He finished, putting his head onto the desk.
So, get up and go into the building at eight in the morning, give me my identification at the front, and then continue. Seems easy enough.
Both of them nodded, preparing to exit the room.
