Ganus Agricultural Planet, Primeval Jungle
As the transport plane slowly landed, Li Feng led a company of Soldiers to this primeval jungle. Actually, when he saw it from the sky, Li Feng thought it was similar to the Amazon rainforest in South America.
When the plane landed, Li Feng stepped onto the jungle's soil, and after seeing the world beneath the tree line, he was shocked. This wasn't a 'tropical rainforest' at all! This was Pandora!
The primeval jungle of Ganus Agricultural Planet was breathtaking. As far as the eye could see, gigantic trees stood between heaven and earth, seemingly piercing the clouds. Each tree was at least a hundred meters tall, their canopies blocking out the sun. Sunlight could only filter through the gaps in the leaves, casting beams of light that dappled the ground.
The vegetation here was extremely dense, with vines coiling around tree trunks like giant snakes. Wild flowers bloomed among the vines, colorful and emitting a strange, fluorescent glow.
From the depths of the jungle came the calls of unknown creatures, sometimes sharp, sometimes low, giving one a sense of a mysterious and primal power flowing through the place.
The ground was covered with a thick layer of humus and fallen leaves, soft to the step, each one accompanied by the scent of damp earth. Dense ferns intertwined with low shrubs, almost completely blocking any path. Occasionally, huge fungi, several meters in diameter, emerged from the ground, their caps spread wide like umbrellas, emitting a faint blue luminescence.
This primeval jungle was like an independent microcosm, every corner filled with the rhythm of life and the wildness of nature. The air was filled with a damp, slightly sweet and pungent smell, delivering a strong sensory impact, as if every cell of this land was speaking of its ancientness and mystery.
After landing, Eliette walked at the very front, leading everyone and saying, "Let's go. It won't be long until you see it with your own eyes."
Eliette took two steps, but she noticed no footsteps following behind her. Puzzled, she turned back. She saw Li Feng at that moment, appreciating the beauty of nature, taking deep breaths and exhaling, savoring the oxygen-rich environment within the primeval jungle.
Seeing Li Feng in that state, Eliette smiled softly, a beautiful curve forming on her lips:
"So these monkeys, are they just like us in this habit? I must say, how cute..."
Eliette once again recalled the moment when he held her hand while she was suffering the curse that the Prince of Pleasure had inflicted upon all Aeldari. In that moment, her heart had never felt such peace and tranquility.
Li Feng saw that Eliette seemed to have said something, so he asked, "Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. What were you just saying?"
"No... nothing... Let's get going quickly."
Eliette turned her head and continued walking forward on her own. Li Feng saw that the guide had already walked so far, so he immediately led his team to follow.
Meanwhile, Qixing was carefully observing the 'exotic flowers and plants' in the primeval jungle. She actually wanted to pick some, but... all humans in 40K know one thing: don't touch anything you don't recognize. Even frogs on Catachan explode.
Along the way, Li Feng and Eliette talked a lot. Eliette was an Aeldari from a Craftworld. Her ancestors had made traversing the star-studded darkness their eternal mission. These 'Children of Asuryan' walked different paths throughout their long lives, refining their understanding of their special missions to better fulfill their roles within the Aeldari social system.
Eliette had lived on her Craftworld for decades, which was enough to make her restless and decide that her new path would take her to distant and unfamiliar places.
After choosing the path of the Wanderer, Eliette left the vast Craftworld her kin called home. She sought to forge her own path in a universe originally beyond the scope of Aeldari society, and pursued this desire to this distant Kharon, attempting to establish a new Aeldari home here.
He was almost driven crazy by the mosquitoes along the way. He was even startled by mosquitoes as big as pet dogs and centipedes as large as trucks, directly hiding in Fides's arms.
Fides was enjoying this moment. Li Feng hiding in her arms made Fides feel absolutely delighted. Li Feng even pointed at the centipede as big as a truck and shouted:
"Exterminatus! Exterminatus! This Kharon is beyond saving!"
...Primeval Jungle, traitor Camp
Soon, Eliette led Li Feng and his comrades to the vicinity of the traitor camp. Li Feng looked at the distant traitor camp, while pouring insect repellent onto his hands and applying it to his body.
Then he poured a little more and personally applied it to Fides, Qixing, and Reinhard's faces. Fides blushed and said nothing, and Reinhard also blushed and remained silent, while Qixing was curious about this strange 'perfume'.
Then Li Feng handed the insect repellent to Eliette: "Want some? It's really effective at keeping mosquitoes away!"
Eliette brought her nose to the bottle opening and sniffed, then extended her hand. Li Feng poured some onto her palm. Eliette also imitated Li Feng and his comrades, applying the insect repellent to her neck.
At this moment, several scouts returned. As Astra Militarum Soldiers Li Feng brought from Terra, they had completed their mission well. When they saw that Li Feng and the Aeldari Woman 'had a good relationship', they exchanged glances.
"Commander? Excuse me... We've just finished reconnaissance. The traitor camp has approximately 15 traitors. The brothers have already approached the sentry posts, just waiting for your order."
Li Feng looked at the people around him; everyone nodded in response, indicating they were ready.
"Move."
...Two traitors stood on a cliff overlooking the camp below, holding tattered old rifles, chatting.
"How could those guys fail the assassination mission? They planned it for so long!"
"No choice. Who would have thought an expedition fleet would arrive, and they'd deploy a mechanized company."
"Tsk tsk tsk, sigh! Let's just lie low for a while! When they leave, we'll..."
The first traitor walked along, then suddenly, the sound behind him ceased. He turned back... the person was gone? Just as he was about to ask, a large hand suddenly covered his mouth, dragging him directly into the nearby bushes.
His feet, exposed outside the bushes, struggled desperately. With the sound of a knife piercing something, those feet also stopped moving... An Astra Militarum Soldier in camouflage peered out from the bushes, looking at the opposite cliff. At that moment, the two Soldiers there were dragging a body into the nearby bushes... He raised his arm, giving a thumbs-up, and the other returned one. Then he crawled on the ground, making his way towards the edge of the cliff... Below the cliff, two squads of Astra Militarum Soldiers were moving quickly and low towards the camp. They swiftly cleared each outpost, mostly using knives, quickly dragging away the bodies and then following.
They were Li Feng's troops, having adopted the tactical ideas Li Feng brought from 2K. They were already the best Soldiers from every Kharon and unit, and now each of them was a professional in CQB and field operations.
They primarily used FAL automatic rifles, with silencers made from 40K materials installed on the muzzles. Before entering this camp, they had changed magazines and ammunition, collectively using subsonic rounds, which, combined with the silencers, allowed for almost silent operation.
In the center of the camp, a group of traitors were gathered around a central campfire, eating a hodgepodge from a pot. They were completely oblivious to the noose of death tightening around their necks step by step.
Soon... the Soldiers occupied advantageous positions, every gun aimed at a traitor... They waited for instructions in their earpieces, their fingers resting on the triggers. They didn't care about Li Feng's reputation; they only waited for the command of the 'Hero of Frax', because for Soldiers, this title allowed them to entrust their minds and backs to their Commander without worry.
"All units, prepare to fire in 5 seconds... Five, four, three, two, one..."
