Agricultural Planet, Ganus
The fleet traveled at sub-light speed through the Cronus Sector, arriving above the Agricultural Planet Ganus. As Li Feng needed to contact the Planetary Governor of the Cronus Sector, and most planets in the Cronus Sector were embroiled in war, he was disinclined to get involved.
Thus, after a decision by Li Feng and his staff, the Agricultural Planet Ganus became an excellent port of call for them. It was one of the few areas in the Cronus Sector free from war.
Moreover, the Von Valerius Family had an exceptionally good relationship with this planet; the Planetary Governor's investiture ceremony was personally presided over by the former Theodora.
Li Feng and his retinue descended slowly from the sky in a large transport aircraft, arriving at the Planetary Governor's Mansion. From the sky, Li Feng had already seen a welcoming crowd gathered near the landing site.
As the large transport aircraft slowly landed, Li Feng and his party disembarked. A red carpet had already been laid from their hatch all the way to the Female Governor.
Meanwhile, on a distant rooftop, an Ark Aeldari aimed her sniper rifle near the landing pad. She pressed her eye to the scope, watching the group emerge from the transport ship.
The leading man, in particular, piqued her curiosity. He was a stranger, but her intuition told her he harbored unknown secrets.
Suddenly, she saw the man in her scope look in her direction, then subtly raise his hand and wave at her.
Startled, she immediately pulled her eye from the scope, looking left and right to ensure no one had crept up on her, then looked back in that direction... "Did he spot me?... Hmph, what an interesting mon-keigh..."
Li Feng and his group walked up to the Planetary Governor. She was a noblewoman dressed in magnificent silk robes, looking at Li Feng's group with an expectant expression, then gracefully performed a noble's bow.
Li Feng noticed that this woman looked wealthy; her arms and neck were adorned with jewel-encrusted implants.
"On behalf of the noble Wyatt Abu Alam Family, I welcome our esteemed guests. My name is Vistansa Ganus Wyatt Abu Alam Cronus. By the grace of the Emperor and the will of Rogue Trader Theodora Von Valerius, I currently serve as the Planetary Governor of this world and Commander of the Imperial Army."
The Female Governor then turned her gaze to Abelard, who was behind Li Feng. "And greetings to you, esteemed Abelard Wilson. Several years have passed since your last visit to Ganus, and I am delighted to see you again."
Li Feng watched the Female Governor and Abelard with an amused expression. He had a feeling the Female Governor seemed to have a soft spot for the elder Abelard... an evening romance.
Abelard replied, "The Rogue Trader's Chief has not visited this planet for a long time. This is a good omen, isn't it, Lady Wyatt? It means you have managed this planet exceptionally well."
Hearing Abelard's words, the Female Governor covered her face with a fan and let out a theatrical, 'Matsuzaka-sensei' style laugh, like a socialite:
"Ohohoho, to be honest, I am quite surprised that you accompany this Astra Militarum Colonel in place of the venerable Lady Theodora. It is truly unexpected."
Since Li Feng had not brought Celestine and the Battle Sisters down, only Fides was by his side, so he currently lacked his own 'announcer.'
Abelard was about to immediately step forward and give a rapid-fire introduction of Li Feng, but Li Feng shook his head, signaling him to refrain.
At this moment, Sevesta said, "Planetary Governor Wyatt, Lady Theodora has passed away. I am now the head of the Von Valerius Dynasty, Sevesta Von Valerius."
Hearing this, the Female Governor showed a mournful expression. "This is truly sad news. I will hold a month-long mourning period on the planet."
Just then, a person in a civilian uniform emerged from the crowd, pulled out a pistol, and aimed it at the Female Governor.
"For Ganus!"
But before he could pull the trigger, a white-haired Sister of Battle swiftly moved to his side... Fides's power sword had been drawn from her waist at some unknown point, and she swung it towards the assassin's head.
Within three steps, the blade is fast! Beyond three steps...
Just as the power sword was about to decapitate the assassin, a Las-fire flew from afar, exploding the assassin's head before Fides could.
The Female Aeldari in the distance sat on the rooftop, her slender, beautiful body angled as she aimed her sniper rifle: "Beyond three steps, the gun is accurate and fast..."
The next second, many rioters appeared in the crowd, opening fire on the Planetary Defence Force and the surrounding nobles. The scene immediately devolved into chaos, and Reinhard's voice came through Li Feng's earpiece:
"Sir! We have observed a riot below. Do you need us to intervene?"
Fides, at this moment, didn't bother being angry that her kill had been stolen again. She simply grabbed Li Feng, who was talking on the radio, and pulled him towards cover.
Li Feng was pulled and pressed down behind cover by Fides, who then straddled Li Feng's lap, using her body to shield him while continuously firing.
Li Feng looked at the chest of Fides's power armour in front of him and the Bolter round casings constantly falling from her head, and he said to Reinhard:
"Send down a company of Astra Militarum. You and Siegfried lead them. Just ensure the safety of the Governors Mansion; the rest is not our job."
At this point, Sevesta also scrambled to Li Feng's cover, firing several shots from her automatic pistol outwards.
Li Feng noticed that this young lady wasn't scared; instead, she looked excited. It seemed the novelty of such fighting thrilled her.
Abelard was desperately trying to protect the Von Valerius Family's bloodline: "My lord! Take cover! Don't lean out and shoot anymore!"
Li Feng, for some reason, suddenly hugged Fides's power armoured waist in front of him. The sudden intimate action directly disrupted Fides's focus as she was firing her Bolter, causing her to miss several shots.
Fides immediately lowered herself to look at Li Feng, who was hugging her waist, and asked, blushing, "You big idiot! What are you doing in a battle?!"
Li Feng just rubbed his face against the cold power armour at Fides's waist: "And you're protecting me... That's good..."
Suddenly, Fides felt a Chainsword, filled with pink hearts, pierce directly through her heart...
