Domina's face was filled with curiosity.
Others might not understand, but she knew very well just how capable Mariella, Rebecca, Neige, and Fana were.
Yuuki was never careless in his actions.
Yet this was the first time he had dispatched all four of them together.
That alone spoke volumes.
It meant two things:
First—Yuuki was taking this matter extremely seriously.
Second—the opponent must be overwhelmingly powerful.
No matter how Domina thought about it, she couldn't guess who it might be.
"…Don't tell me it's Julius?"
She shook her head almost immediately.
With Yuuki in the Clover Kingdom, Mariella and the others clearly weren't headed there.
"Conrad."
Rebecca spoke the name softly, but her emerald eyes burned with resolve.
At last—
she could truly help Yuuki.
"Conrad?" Domina blinked, even more confused.
"Who's that? I don't remember anyone powerful in the Clover Kingdom with that name."
Before she could ask further—
Mariella activated her spatial magic, enveloping Rebecca, Neige, and Fana in shimmering light.
The four vanished from the grass in an instant.
"…Whatever. I just make magic tools. The rest isn't my business."
Domina yawned lazily and turned back toward the castle, already planning to catch up on sleep.
She took only a few steps—
Then froze.
"…Conrad?"
Her drowsy mind snapped awake.
"Wait—wasn't he the previous Wizard King?"
She recalled the countless swords of light that had filled the sky…
the massive blue clock that followed…
And now, a former Wizard King.
"…This world's getting crazier by the minute."
Rubbing her temples, Domina muttered her complaint and disappeared into the castle.
Clover Kingdom Border —
Before the Stone Monument of the Kabbalah Tree of Life
A black spatial rift opened.
Licht and Valtos stepped out.
Waiting nearby, Sally and Rades lit up with excitement.
Especially Rades—his eyes blazing as he hurried forward.
"Licht-sama! You got the final magic stone, right?!"
"Watch your tone."
Valtos glanced at him calmly as a warning.
Sally and Valtos exchanged a brief look—then quickly looked away.
Though Yuuki had betrayed the Eye of the Midnight Sun,
his warnings still lingered in their minds.
Deep down, they had sensed something was wrong.
But until the very end—
No one wanted to believe that everything they had done might be meaningless.
"Everything is ready now—no, even better than expected."
Valtos couldn't suppress his excitement.
"Wizard King Julius has been dealt with by Licht-sama himself."
If nothing went wrong, their goal was finally within reach.
"For real?! As expected of Licht-sama!"
Rades exclaimed, eyes wide with exhilaration.
"There is no one left who can stop us."
Licht spoke gently, his voice distant—as though addressing both the others and himself.
He stepped forward, holding the remaining magic stones taken from Julius.
One by one, he placed them into the grooves of the Tree of Life monument.
Only one stone remained.
Licht paused.
Turning back toward Sally, Rades, and Valtos, his smile softened further.
"Once this final stone is placed, the Tree of Life will guide us to awaken our true power."
A trace of nostalgia flickered in his eyes.
"Yes… Licht-sama."
Valtos clenched his fists slightly, his voice trembling—whether from excitement or fear, he couldn't tell.
"We'll finally awaken greater power!"
Rades laughed wildly.
"This time, we'll show those Magic Knights what real strength looks like!"
"And if I get stronger," Sally giggled, pushing up her red-framed glasses,
"I can make even more amazing magic tools!"
"Then hurry up!" Rades urged impatiently.
"Let's start already!"
Suddenly—
Licht chuckled softly.
"Everyone… thank you."
"You've done well. I'm proud of you."
"The moment to realize our wish has finally arrived."
"Embrace your true forms… and let us create our nation."
White light radiated from Licht as he spread his arms.
For an instant—
Valtos and Sally felt their hearts ease.
Then—
Licht's tone shifted.
"To this point, those were the words of Licht, leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun."
The three froze.
"What follows… is what I truly wish to say."
"You are consumed by desire. You act recklessly."
"You harm others without hesitation, yet are painfully sensitive to your own suffering."
"You discriminate against others over trivial reasons—despite being human yourselves."
"Envy. Hatred."
"You glorify certain beliefs to justify your weakness and sins."
"All of it… for the sake of your filthy selves."
Licht's gentle expression vanished, replaced by icy contempt.
"You humans are selfish, irredeemable, and utterly grotesque."
Valtos stared at him in disbelief, something shattering inside his chest.
"Licht-sama… what are you saying…?"
"This is where we part ways."
Licht placed the final magic stone into the monument.
"Become the foundation for resurrection."
BOOM—
The monument erupted in blinding white light.
An overwhelming surge of mana pierced the heavens.
The darkening sky was illuminated once more—
as if a second sun had risen.
The phenomenon engulfed the entire Clover Kingdom.
Once again, the people fell into fear and confusion—
powerless but to wait.
"Foundation… for resurrection?"
"You're lying… right?!"
Rades' voice shook with rage and terror.
Then—
Crack—crack.
Their skin began turning black.
Their mana drained at terrifying speed.
"When I granted you names… when I called you comrades…"
"I marked you."
"So that you could serve as sacrifices for the forbidden spell."
"You were offerings—
living sacrifices for my true kin."
Licht smiled gently.
To them, that smile was unbearably cold.
"AAAAH!!"
Three screams rang out.
Sally.
Rades.
Valtos.
They collapsed lifelessly to the ground.
Licht did not look back.
Instead, he drew out William's World Tree grimoire, his expression complicated.
"The reincarnation ritual is complete."
"My incomplete rebirth has become whole."
"William… has fallen into eternal slumber."
Placing the grimoire at the base of the monument, he whispered:
"Farewell… my only human friend."
"Laia and the others should already be heading to the capital."
"I must hurry as well."
Golden light wrapped around him.
Licht soared into the sky, flying toward the Clover Kingdom.
Not long after—
The space around the Tree of Life monument shimmered.
From behind it, Yuuki stepped forward calmly.
"Permeation Magic really is impressive…"
"Even at that distance, I wasn't detected."
Without "Ki," one simply couldn't sense a permeated existence.
Yuuki approached the monument.
He picked up the World Tree grimoire and placed it against his own.
The book was devoured.
"World Tree Magic—acquired."
A new mana core formed within his soul.
His already vast mana surged once more.
Of all the magics he had replicated—
This one had been the easiest.
Practically free.
And an Underworld-tier magic, no less.
"Four Underworld-tier magics now… no—soon, five."
Yuuki turned toward the three bodies that should have remained dead.
Suddenly—
Cold, sinister mana erupted from Rades' corpse.
His grimoire levitated, pages flipping wildly.
Power surged.
The next instant—
Rades shot upright, screaming in agony.
"Licht!! You tricked me!!"
"Kill me!! I'll never forgive you!!"
Groans followed as Sally and Valtos revived as well.
"Good… just in time!"
Rades roared in fury.
"Let's kill that bastard together!!"
"I'm… alive?" Valtos stared at his own body.
"This magic is incredible!" Sally bounced excitedly.
Clap. Clap. Clap.
Applause echoed through the cavern.
They spun around.
Yuuki stood there, smiling.
"To die once and return—few ever experience that."
"Congratulations on returning to this world."
"You traitor!"
Rades snarled.
"Traitor?" Yuuki tilted his head.
"That title doesn't suit me."
"You saw it yourselves—Licht was the one who betrayed you."
"Isn't that right, Valtos?"
Valtos looked up slowly.
"…You knew."
"I knew something," Yuuki admitted calmly.
"Then why weren't you affected by the mark?!"
Rades shouted.
"Licht said everyone was marked!"
"That mana-based mark was removed long ago."
Yuuki smiled faintly.
"You bastard! Why didn't you warn us?!"
Yuuki's smile vanished.
He raised one finger.
"First—I had no obligation to warn you."
"Second—who do you think you're talking to?"
He vanished.
In the blink of an eye, Yuuki was before Rades.
His hand closed around Rades' throat, lifting him off the ground.
"Congratulations," Yuuki said softly.
"Your Corpse Magic has finally become complete."
"As thanks—
I'll make very good use of it."
Yuuki's grimoire devoured Rades' own.
Snap.
Yuuki crushed Rades' neck and tossed the body aside.
With his magic gone, resurrection was no longer possible.
