Cherreads

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1.

The stars were out shining in the blackness of the night brimming with such color you would feel it on your skin. The trees were lush with their bright green and beautiful leaves that sway back and forth in the smooth cold yet warm breeze. The birds chirped, the bugs sang and the animals growled their groaning of annoyance as they tried to catch their prey. The buildings were tall with some of different colors like grey, black and sometimes red with other shades etc. In a small town not far from a city called "Hankterville" a small circle of houses with others stretched across the large lake called "Ckimptin lake." This circle of houses had medium sized land where the grass was green and the flowers were blooming. There a white and black house stood. It was tall and well built with its triangular roof like design. The house was surrounded by other houses in a circular arrangement. There were about 9 houses that made the circle. The first six made the curve while the other three made the other curve to make the formation.

Now there where were two houses that sat side by side. It was a family of four and if you looked at it from a ground view they almost looked identical but slightly different. They both had red bricks that stopped at a part of the houses where it looked like a pattern where each part was trying to overcome the other, it basically looked like waves overlapping each other. Now, this neighborhood is usually peaceful, but not busy. One of the two houses had a large wide open spot where people could look out from the inside through a window with a square like design. However the other house didn't have that. These two buildings were next to each other, the left one was right to the other one and the right one was left to the other. The right house had an inside garage while the other had a car port.

Inisde the second house it was quiet and dead. The sound of heavy footsteps were loud and emit echoed through the house. A man wearing all black was inside. His face covered in a thick ski mask. A women sat on a light brown couch. A small hole in the back of her head. A bullet hole to be precise. This was a robbery gone wrong. The man in black then began to quickly move around the house, grabbing anything of value and trying escape quickly. The house inside was simple yet a little stylish. The man quickly made his way towards the bathrooms then a bedroom.

Under a bed inside a closed room a boy lay. Shaking and crying softly to himself. The feeling of dread made his body shake as he tried to calm down and breath slowly. Silence had filled his room and it was almost pitch black with only a red neon light shining inside. Could he leave or should he stay hiding? His questioned was answered as the door to his room swung open with a soft creak. The boy gasped softly. Body trembling as he scooted himself back towards the end of the bed. The man's foot steps thumped around his room, heavy and hard against the wood. Minutes passed by that felt like hours and the boy started to cry. Tears streaming down his cheeks as he looked around for something to muffle his voice. The boy saw a plushy and stretched out his arm to grabbed it, but was viciously yanked by the arm and pulled out from under the bed. The boy screamed but was then grabbed by the throat as the man banged the poor boy against the wall. Three bangs went by before the boy fell unconious.

Minutes, no, hours went by before the boy woke up. Eyes wide open and shifting left and right. Body weak and hurting. Was he paralyzed? He could hear the faint sounds of thuds and bangs. Then he heard a scream, his sisters scream. The boy's blood ran cold and he could hear one of his sisters scream his name. "Run! Run away, Komodo!" Then BANG then a wet thud. Tears that soon turned to blood slowly streaked down Komodo's face. He couldn't run, couldn't stand or move. He was paralyzed and when he tried to move, it hurt so much. Komodo could only hear and listen as the Robber walked around the house stealing their things. Komodo wanted to do something! Anything! He HATED not being able to do anything. Silence had filled his room. Had the robber left? No, the robber was looking for something. He was still here. Komodo's question was answered when he heard his bedroom door open. "That kid should be conscious now. At least I'll hear him moan and I strangle him while ****Ing him." The robber chuckled as he entered the room. The boy's face went pale. He stared up at the robber in fear.

Anything but that! No! Please! Have mercy! Why couldn't have just left us alone!

From 7:00pm to 1:00am. Komodo was ruthlessly rapped. His brain had broke in pieces and was psychologically destroyed. He started to imagine his sisters. Sitting at the side of his bed. Their cold dead stares of disappointment as they screamed their hatred and disgust at him.

"Why did you have to live?"

"Wish you dead and I lived."

"Why couldn't you have died!"

"Such a disgrace."

"What a horrible and pitiful existence."

"Wish you were never born."

Komodo started to cry as he heard the voices.

"No. No you don't mean that. Petra? Tessie? Jessica? Katt? Athena? Swis? Please tell me you don't mean that!" Komodo cried out inside his head as he stared at the pale bodies of his sisters. He wanted to scream but his voice couldn't project.

Finally the man left his room and the whole house. Everything hurt and he felt hungry. Like really hungry. Close to starving.

Day 1

Komodo still couldn't move his body. And he was really hungry. Maybe the only thing he could move was his fingers, but that was it.

"I'm hungry. Where is mom? Where are my sisters?"

Day 2

Something smelled weird in the air but Komodo didn't ponder on it. His hands move, but his hunger didn't change. In fact, it got worse. His body started to deteriorate that he could tell.

Day 3

The smell got worse and Komodo was getting more hungry. His head and arms moved, finally. He crawled off his bed. Falling face first onto the floor. "Ow!" Komodo yelped clutching his nose painfully. Although he shook it off the pain stayed and it got really annoying. He tried crawling out of his bed room, which worked but was really tiring.

After minutes of crawling he finally made it out his room and the hallway, making it into the living room. "The hell? Why is my mom sleeping at this time? Oh well." Komodo thought as he looked at his mother sleeping on the couch. Komodo also saw his dad too, sound asleep. Komodo just kept crawling into the kitchen. When he got to kitchen he realized he couldn't reach the handle. He sighed and tried calling for one of his sisters. No one came. He tried again. Nobody. "Huh. I guess they aren't home right now. Oh well." Komodo thought. Guess he could wait one more day.

Day 4

He couldn't do it. His stomach was so hungry that he needed to eat something. His legs were finally able to move and he stood up. Opening the fridge door and found… nothing. He opened the freezer. Nothing. He was starving. Komodo walked out of the kitchen and glance at the couch. He stared, wide eyed. "Huh? I could have sweared mom and dad were sitting right there." Komodo thought as he saw that his parents weren't there anymore. He looked down at the floor and sighed. "Oh, their bodies just fell to the floor. They must have a hard time at work recently." Komodo said with a sighing chuckle. He then carried their bodies up a couple stairs into a master bedroom. He then layed up on the bed and covered them up to the shoulders. "There. That should do it." Komodo thought as he exited out of the room, closing the door behind him.

Komodo's stomach growled loudly and he desperately needed food. He sat on the couch and pondered things. Where were his sisters? Why weren't his parents waking up? "Oh wait? I never checked their rooms." Komodo said, standing up and clasping his fist on his palm. He then walked to his sisters room. Opening the door only to find it empty with their beds clean and spread. "Odd." Komodo said scratching his face. Something wet touched his face and he recoiled. He touched his check again and jerked back. "What the? What is-" Komodo began to ask, but then he looked down at his hand. Dark red liquid was dripping down from his hands. He slowly looked up and saw guts and body parts everywhere. The police arrived and had surrounded him. "Hey kid?! What happened here?" The officer asked, see as how Komodo's eyes were shaking violently. "Kid! Are you okay!" The officer asked, this time shouting in concern. Komodo didn't respond, just nodded. The officer sighed as he looked around. "Lord have mercy, what the hell happened here?" The officer muttered as he studied the scene. The officer vaguely remembered being called for a safety check and then found himself staring at a crime scene. "Robber. A robber came in and stole my family's stuff. Now my mom and dad won't wake up and my sisters are nowhere to be found." Komodo whispered just high enough for the officer to hear. The officer gulped. "Whatever robber came, they messed with the wrong house." The officer thought, staring at the bloody and stabbed body of the robber with poles sticking out of their face along with the chest being torn open or maybe cut open with claws. "C'mon kid. Let's get you down at the station." The officer stated, placing calm hands on the child's shoulders and leading him out of the house and into a police cab. "Take him to the station and help clean him up." The officer told his colleague as he smacked the cab and watched it drive off.

"Reiner. You need to see this!" A officer called from inside the house. Reiner turned and walked back inside. Heading down the hallway and into the child's bedroom. "What is it?" Reiner asked the officer leaning against the wall. "Well, for starters. The robber who came here, stole some very valuable things. However he also carried a gun, but we never got a call for gunshots within this neighborhood. It's odd. First, the parents had no physical harm or injury. Not even a stab wound was found. Just nothing. There's a few things we can't rule out. One would be poison. The next one could be natural causes. Last one could be the weird death appearance where people just suddenly die without any causes." The officer stated, swinging his finger around in a circle. Reiner nodded, agreeing with the officer's statement. "Yes. That would make plausible sense. However that child. Seemed to know something. But he's too frail and I don't see how he could have taken down a average man. The boy's sisters are nowhere to be seen. Like they just disappeared." Reiner said, looking around the small bedroom. The officer shook his said and opened a small window that was hidden by a long red curtain. "Actually. We've discovered something disturbing. Seven bodies were found outside under ground. We could smell it from where we were cause there they were made of stone rubble." The officer said pointing outside. Reiner frowned at this information as he nodded and walked out of the room. This was just like that one case years ago. Back in the 1900s. When a large group of connected towns was established. The population soon grew and the mayor gave the four towns different roles. One for seafood, one for Tin and others, another for stone and then last for farms and hunting.

As Reiner walked back into the living he heard someone yelling inside a bedroom up small set of stairs. He decided it might be worth his time so he walked up the stairs and into the room.

"Ah, Officer Reiner. What brings you up here?" A officers called

Reiner let out a quiet sigh. "Oh. I just came to see what was going one here."

"Hmm. I see. We'll for a brief summary. These guys have the biggest pride when examining bodies. So when the guys found nothing to cause the parents death the lead immediately started ranting."

"Pfft. Just kindly escort him out and let's the actual smart people do their jobs."

"Haha. Alright. Somebody get this man a hot coffee. He seems to be hallucinating." Reiner shouted to two officers standing in the corner snickering.

Two officers nearby "kindly" escorted the forensic lab scientist out of the crime scene. Reiner sighed. "So it is that weird mysterious death appearance. But what do I tell the kid. That the grim reaper just came and said 'Yoink you're mine.'" Reiner felt deeply guilty for Komodo. He didn't like this eerie feeling. A robbers body completely shredded. Seven graves with seven sisters and two parents with weird death causes.

"Reiner. I have a disturbing theory."

"What is it, Kudos?"

Kudos, a stern man with broad shoulders and a slightly grey beard.

"Something greatly bothered me when looking at the robbers body. Certain parts, like the intestines, liver and lungs. Were cleanly removed. Then when I checked the fridge and freezer I found that it was completely empty. And since we found the boy right in front of the boys with blood on his hands with no memory. I think he has dual personalities. And that other side, maybe be dangerous." Kudos said, crossing his arms. Reiner shivered at the thought, not wanting to think about a dangerous a man eating kid. "I'll check with docters and hope the detectives get here soon so that we can retell this. Speaking of which, where are the detectives?" Reiner said, looking around curiously. Kudos chuckled and took out a badge. Placing it on Reiners police shirt. "Remember that detectives text you've been doing lately? We'll you passed and they accepted you. So congrats." Kudos said with a old man-like grin. Reiner was completely shocked. He was now the inspector for this crime scene! "T-that's amazing." Reiner said as he looked at the badge, eyes sparkling.

Meanwhile at the station. "What's your name kid?" A woman officer spoke. Komodo didn't respond, just looked at one corner of the room. Face dull and utterly lifeless. The women sighed, hating this situation. "Alright. Do you remember anything?" She prompted kindly. Komodo's eyes slowly moved sideways to look at the woman. "Like what? All I remember was finding myself with blood on my hands." Komodo replied coldly. The woman stood up from the table, nodded her head with a smile and walked out of the room. She then walked into a room with glass that was showing Komodo from behind it. "It really seems he knows nothing." The woman said to a man. The man nodded slowly. "We'll notify the new detective about it when he gets here." He said as they both walked out of the room.

Komodo stared at the corner of the interrogation room. Eyes now filled with terror as he saw a black figure, static figure standing there. Eyes white and tall. "Hungry." A ominous yet mimicked voice said from the black figure. Komodo blinked and the it disappeared. "Huh." Komodo let out a huff of confusion as he turned away, only to fall unconscious. He woke up in the same place, although this time everything was utterly quiet. He couldn't hear voices from behind the door. Komodo stood up from his chair, walking around the table and opening the door to the outside. "Hello?" Komodo's voice echoed inside the station. Everything was dark with the few exceptions of flickering lights. Komodo noticed everything was clean and polished. That was normal. He smelled something though, down a hall on his right. The hallway was empty as he strode down. He was still hungry after all that waiting. He needed something tasty. Something good that would fill his stomach.

Within the real world the only thing people saw was a boy walking down a hall with a wide grin and droll leaking out. The woman officer was following him, asking him questions and trying to snap Komodo out of it. The woman noticed that Reiner and Kudos arrived and shouted to them for help. "What's going on, Julianna?" Reiner said confused as he stared at the walking boy. Julianna gulped and looked up at Reiner. "He just suddenly got up and started walking. He also has this weird smile on his face, it's very strange." She said looking back at the boy who was by now half way down the hall. Reiner glanced at Kudos who was calm. "I think. Might have a problem." Kudos muttered, turning to look at Reiner. "What do you mean?" Reiner asked calmly with a stern yet concerned expression.

"When I talked about my theory? I think I was proven right. However I think the bigger problem is that… the boy's second personality is a cannibal." Kudos said as he started sprinting down the hallway for the boy. Julianna and Reiner, shocked and surprised by the revelation snapped themselves together and also rushed after the boy.

The three of them found Komodo, outside in the back of the station. Komodo was smiling while holding a knife with blood dripping from it. "Oh… Lord." Julianna said, her body trembling as she turned away. Komodo was seen standing on top of another officer, holding his torn off arm. The officer was obviously unconscious, but the fact remains. What now? Komodo had already start sitting down and bitting into the arm with his teeth. But he couldn't just put the poor boy in jail and leave him to rot. Plus it wasn't the boy's fault he has twin personalities. "That Officer is already dead. Someone killed him." Kudos said calmly, making Reiner and Julianna question wether he was drunk or not. "See that gunshot?" Kudos said pointing a finger at the head, ignoring the questioning gazes he got from his colleagues. However, now that Reiner looked more closely he did see it now. It was a bullet to the head. Maybe this officer saw something and was killed for it. Komodo, after finishing his meal, stood up and walked to Reiner. Droping the knife on the floor and staring up at the detective. The smile was gone now. It had changed to a thin frown. "Sir? Did something happen?" Komodo asked looking at the three people. He was then about to turn around but Julianna stopped him. "Hey! I know a great ice-cream shop just down the street. Want to go get some ice cream?" She asked hesitantly, sweat dripping down her face. Komodo nodded and the three sighed with relief. Julianna took Komodo's hand and they walked off back down the hall to go get some ice cream.

Reiner and Kudos just stood there and stared at the dead cop before. They couldn't exactly say a child was eating a dead man's corpse for lunch. "Reiner. I'll take it over from here. Since this involves a child and a dead cop now, you should go home and rest up for the day. It would benefit you." Kudos said glancing at Reiner who looked like he was now struggling to stay awake. Reiner nodded and thanked Kudos before turning the leave. "Oh and by the way. I was thinking. Maybe you should adopt the boy. Keep him safe and heathy. He seems to be more comfortable around you." Kudos added, turning around and barking a order to a nearby cop within the station. Reiner thought for a moment while walking. Why would he want a boy who could potentially murder him in his sleep? But then again. Why leave a poor child alone in a house with no food or love or care! Reiner didn't need time to think it over. He will adopt Komodo.

Later that day, when the stars shine bright once more. Reiner entered his house with a tired face. Following behind him was Komodo. "Alright kid. I have papers to write so why don't you make yourself at home while I fill in these adoptions papers." Reiner said, moving over to a table. Komodo nodded and moved to explore the house. The house was large. Being about two stories high with a flat roof. It looked like modern day hotels. Flat roofs with tall square windows. Komodo didn't mind the sudden change. Glancing around the room and seeing some stairs, decided to walk up them. When he reached the top, he three doors. Looking inside one of them Komodo found it was the master bedroom. Then when he looked into the second one found a wide room with a bed, closet and bathroom. Must be a guest bedroom. Komodo closed the door and shifted over to the third door. When he opened it he found himself staring a a young girl with blonde hair. She was wearing a shirt but no pants, just underwear. (I'm sorry. I don't enjoy writing such vulgar things, but I know for some it makes it more engaging.) Komodo's cheeks blushed but didn't hesitate to enter the girls room. "H-hello?" He called out to the girl. The girls head perked up, turning her head around to look at Komodo. "Oh! Hello! Who are you!" The girl asked excitedly moving off the bed, her legs dangling. Komodo scratched his head, still trying not the a pervert. "It's K-Komodo. I don't quiet remember my last name." He said nervously. The girl smiled widely and pushed herself off the bed, walking over to Komodo. "Pleased to meet you, Komodo! I'm Macy! Macy Del! Also who cares about stupid last names! Just your name is cool and awesome!" Macy said with a smirk that soon turned into a smile. Komodo smiled back, placing a hand behind his back. He was restraining himself. A voice came, grabbing Komodo's hand and squeezing it tightly. "Kill her and eat her flesh. We're hungry." The static like voice came as the black smoky figure appeared beside Komodo. "Do you want to draw with me?" Macy asked, snapping Komodo out of his trance. Komodo nodded calmly. Wincing as he realized he was the one squeezing his arm.

Macy and Komodo sat down on the floor, taking drawing papers and coloring pencils. "What school do you go too, Komodo?" Macy asked scribbling some orange color on a house. Komodo thought for a moment then answered. "I go to Hillstone's kindergarten school." Macy's eyes sparkled with delight at the reply. "Really?! I go there too! Just started yesterday! Although. I heard some nasty rumors about the collage." Macy said, growing as she grabbed a red pencil. Komodo nodded. "Yea. Me too. Heard about two students there killed a very popular killer inside the collage and burned him within the school." Komodo said, laughing at the rumor. Macy nodded as she placed down her paper. Komodo's didn't noticed. On the paper was a neighbor with a arrow pointing at a house. The house was a fire and it showed labels of different houses. "Dead." Next to the house was a stick figure holding what looked to be a shotgun pointed at two people. When Komodo noticed the drawing, his face turned just slightly pale. "Scary. You. Brave. I Not."
