Before long, the sun peeked out from the ends of the horizon and the gentle rays made me open my eyes.
We fell asleep before even knowing it.
Damar was on my right side and Fenric was on my left, sitting on the floor and clutching my leg.
Watching the sun rise like this was so beautiful.
I felt Damar move and lifted my eyes to see him slowly fluttering his eyelashes open. He looked at me, and as soon as our eyes met, he smiled.
"Now, you've rested." He said and leaned down to kiss the corner of my face.
How did he know I slept? For all he knows, I might've actually stayed up till this moment.
"Are you sure I don't need more rest?" I asked but he shook his head, his fingers roaming through my hair.
"Your eyes look full." He said. "But if you still want to sleep, go ahead. I'll stay still, just like this."
So, he can tell through my eyes. How romantic.
I smiled and shook my head.
"No, it's fine," I said. "I've rested enough."
