Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: June 5, 2004 Mordred=Artoria

Meanwhile, Mordred was driving a car while having a conversation with her Master.

"Huh? Master, this is a real mess."

"You said it…. This isn't a Great Holy Grail War, it's a grand chaos party."

"You said it…. It's enough to leave me speechless too."

Mordred drove the Kairi car and charged forward.

"Wait! Isn't this too reckless driving!!!"

"Kyaa! This is killing me!"

"Hey hey hey!!!"

And before a woman appeared and the car was split in two by golden sword energy, Mordred couldn't regain her senses.

Since that sword had neither killing intent nor murderous intent, she didn't react, and eventually, from within the car split in half, Mordred muttered.

"That…, that sword is? Father?"

Mordred's pupils trembled as she prepared for battle.

It was unthinkable to disarm when an enemy appeared, and since her Master was unharmed, she pointed Clarent at her.

"Who are you! Why do you have Father's sword…."

And when she faced Mordred, Mordred almost dropped her sword.

She lowered her sword for a moment and said.

"It's been a while, Mordred."

At her voice, Mordred was flustered.

A familiar and unchanged voice….

It was Artoria Pendragon, called the King of Knights.

"Father?"

"Everyone scattered, so I didn't know where Mordred would come, but it seems my intuition wasn't wrong."

And the Master also came out of the car and said.

"Hey, Mordred, are you okay?"

"Father also joined the Holy Grail War!?"

"No, to be precise, would you believe me if I said I just incarnated and ended up participating?"

Mordred gripped Clarent tightly.

"Are you really Father? Is it Merlin's trick? Or Mother's trick?"

It was really hard to believe.

Thanks to those breasts so full they were overflowing, Mordred fell into confusion.

"Ah, King Arthur, huh…. Just like the report said."

At the Master's statement, it was confirmed that she was King Arthur, and it was imprinted, but Mordred didn't properly hear it due to the mental shock.

"Do you know about me?"

"Yes, the Fuyuki Holy Grail War. I remember you as an incarnated Servant. That aside, did you also join the Holy Grail War?"

She just let out a sigh and said.

"No, I merely came as a third party. It would be nice if you could cooperate with us."

"Hmm, cooperation…. Before that, what is your goal?"

"According to Akira, it's Grail destruction / or Grail retrieval."

Mordred's Master pondered, but there was no attractive restriction.

Since there was literally no haggling, Kairi looked at Mordred.

"Well, it's not my place to interfere, but Mordred…. I'll respect your choice. You've met Father too. You two should have a talk."

And then Mordred put on her helmet and picked up Clarent.

'Right, we're going to have a talk, a talk!'

As if her body and mind were acting separately, Mordred took up a physical means of conversation.

Artoria also had no choice but to point her sword and fell silent.

'Mordred, it seems your idea of a talk was a physical one.'

In a situation where misunderstandings piled up to create more misunderstandings, Mordred began swinging her sword at Artoria with a burst of magical energy.

Clang!

Even after incarnating, Artoria honed her swordsmanship and expanded her skills.

So, she deflected Mordred's charge and struck back with a sword imbued with magical energy.

And Mordred was pushed back a bit, but she didn't mind.

The physical conversation was just beginning, and Artoria armed herself fully.

Her armor was tailored to fit her body.

"Arthuuuuuuur!!!!"

Mordred's voice was filled with what seemed like either rage or joy, and Mordred's Master, Kairi, felt this wasn't right, but since they had a deep relationship, he couldn't recklessly intervene and instead smoked a cigarette while looking at the starry sky and said.

"The night sky is nice."

Clang!

As swords clashed with magical energy bursts, sparks flew from the friction.

Mordred's murderous swordsmanship and Artoria's calm, lake-like swordsmanship clashed, maintaining a balance.

"I never thought we'd have a physical conversation right after meeting…, but I have no choice. I'll play along. Mordred."

"You became stronger after incarnating!!! But I'll surpass you, Father!"

Red magical energy emitted a fierce aura, and Artoria began to gather wind.

In an instant, crimson lightning and blue wind clashed, causing a shockwave, and the cigarette Kairi was smoking flew away.

'Wow, family relationships are really something. That aside, seeing that the Master has no intention to kill, it seems he has a tendency to avoid increasing casualties. As a magus, third-rate? He gives off the smell of an ordinary person who happened to learn magecraft and wants to avoid killing? Well, it's fine with me…. I'd like to meet this Akira person once.'

And then Kairi ran away.

Those two blood relatives don't seem to plan on ending this easily.

Kairi's survival instinct rang, telling him he would die if he didn't run, so he had to run.

"Why do I have to suffer like this?"

Well, it's good that they met, but at the point of realizing that the conversation he thought of was a physical one, there was no answer.

And then Mordred removed her helmet and released crimson lightning as she spoke, and Artoria also seemed to understand what Mordred would do and released golden magical energy as she spoke.

"This is the evil sword that slew my father! 『Clarent Blood Arthur: Rebellion Against My Beautiful Father』!"

"The breath of the planet that gathers… the torrent of life that shines── take this! 『Excalibur: Sword of Promised Victory』!"

And so, light and crimson lightning collided, and the center was devastated as golden light and crimson lightning shot up into the sky.

And again, with a burst of magical energy, they accelerated their movements, and Excalibur and Clarent clashed, echoing a cheerful metallic sound.

Mordred fought as if she had no intention of giving up the fight, and Artoria merely fought along with Mordred's personality.

Frankly, Artoria found Mordred to be a nuisance.

Although she was controlling her strength, from their first meeting, Mordred had become unpleasant.

"Were you happy to destroy me?"

"Father, you pierced me with a spear and then destroyed me? But Britain was destroyed in the end!"

As they threw facts at each other, Mordred, whose words and thoughts were acting separately, couldn't calm the pounding in her chest and swung her sword with a feeling of not knowing what to do.

In the process, Artoria didn't properly understand Mordred's heart.

Because it was more Mordred's fault for swinging her sword from the start without understanding each other, but anyway, it was quite difficult for Artoria to understand such a Mordred, so she was fighting in a style of "fight first and see".

From the beginning, Artoria had no expectations for the Round Table.

Lancelot, isn't he lovely?

Gawain, doesn't he have no development for potatoes?

Mordred, doesn't she swing her sword from the start?

Well, the order of problems was Lancelot > Mordred >>>>> Gawain, but since clashing swords didn't feel bad either, Artoria smiled for a moment.

"King Arthur!!! Are you mocking me!"

"No, I never thought we'd have a conversation with swords. Somehow, it feels like a dormant sense has awakened."

"Then, do you remember the Battle of Camlann?"

"Yes…."

"What did you mean when you said, 'Because you lack the capacity to be king'!"

"It means exactly that. Mordred, you don't have the personality to be a king's vessel, and even if I told you to stay still, wouldn't you be unable to? Paperwork isn't easy either, but if it were Sir Mordred, you'd definitely pass it on to someone else and run away, pretending not to know. Then, let me ask. If Mordred is prepared to be king, then defy my words. Do you really have confidence that you can do it well?"

At Artoria's sudden and serious answer, Mordred stuttered and couldn't speak.

Seeing Mordred speechless, Artoria continued.

"Sir Mordred might have succeeded as a knight, but the weight, duties, and obligations of being a king are quite heavy. If Mordred were to sit on the throne, it would be a complete mess, or it wouldn't be strange to be called a tyrant. From the start, given Sir Mordred's personality structure, even if she became king, wouldn't she have a tendency to ruin Britain in no time? I at least learned from a young age to become king, but Mordred never learned, did she?"

It was 100% facts, with not a single word wrong.

Clearly, Artoria's words that she succeeded as a knight but would not succeed as a king might have felt like being hit by a 100-ton hammer on the head.

What did you learn from Morgan?

Other than "rebel, defeat King Arthur, and take the throne," she lacked education specifically for being a king.

"...."

And then Mordred lowered her sword.

She even lost the will to fight.

No, it would be more accurate to say her mental state was crushed by such a truthful answer.

The facts were so overwhelmingly correct that Mordred might have had tears welling up.

And when Artoria approached Mordred and stroked her head as if petting a child, Mordred began to shed tears.

"Ah…."

And just before Mordred was about to vanish, Kairi instinctively felt that the connection was about to be severed, so he used a Command Spell.

"By my Command Spell! Don't vanish!!!! Mordred!!!!!!!!"

Kairi used a Command Spell to forcibly prevent Mordred from vanishing, but it's said he was dumbfounded by this situation.
