Milo shouted "Yay!" and immediately ran to get his portion. After they were full, the family sat around the fire. Lyria stated, "Okay, since we are all full, let's make this place lively."
Lyria stood up. "We should all talk about our plans for next year. Since I brought this up, I will go first..." After her, everyone took turns talking about their plans. When it got to Finn's turn, the family was shocked by what he said.
Clearing his throat, Finn stood up. "I would like to join the military next year."
Everyone was dumbfounded. "Seriously?" Selena asked.
"Yes, Mum," he replied.
"Have you thought it through? After joining, there is no going back," Selena asked again. Finn nodded.
Rubbing her temples with her hand, she sighed. "Fine, you can go. You children are already grown up."
"Wife, why would you agree?" Thorne asked. "Finn, you are not allowed to go," he added before leaving the room.
Finn wanted to follow him, but Selena held him back. "Let me go speak to him."
