Chapter 158 - Chapter 159: Werewolves Have No Human Rights

September 30, 1993.

Mid-Autumn Festival.

Today's breakfast was fresh meat mooncakes, and Audrey was very satisfied.

But Sirius's subsequent invitation to meet made her very unsatisfied!

For the past month, she had eaten and slept, slept and eaten; at most, she slept for a week straight, and at least, she slept for a day and a night. (As a reminder, it was mentioned earlier that Audrey is prone to oversleeping.)

She felt as if her body was about to evolve again, but she was just one step away from that goal.

That must be because she hadn't slept enough!

Legend has it that dragons grow while they sleep, and as they sleep, their combat power reaches its peak!

She had originally planned to have a big meal and then try to sleep for ten days or half a month!

Laziness?

How could you wrongly accuse a good person?

This was clearly a meditative retreat!

Thus, Sirius disrupting her plans made her a bit irritable.

"What's wrong? Why are you in such a hurry to see me?"

Sirius was currently standing in his office, leaning against his desk, idly twirling his wand with his left hand. The Ministry of Magic had returned the wand they had originally confiscated, but he still preferred the one Audrey had given him.

Sitting next to him was Remus Lupin; it was clear Professor Lupin's face was not very good, and he looked somewhat dazed.

"It's like this," Sirius organized his words, "Remus's identity is a bit special. He, he..."

"A werewolf."

Audrey directly exposed Lupin's secret.

"How—how did you know?"

Audrey gave a contemptuous smile; only you would treat this as a secret!

Her entire body suddenly began to change. Black hair started growing on her skin, her body expanded, and in a moment, she transformed into a werewolf form.

"I can mimic the constitution of magical creatures; you should know that," Audrey said. Although she had turned into a werewolf, her reason remained intact. "I came into contact with Professor Lupin on the Hogwarts Express that day, so naturally, I knew what was going on."

While speaking, Audrey returned to her original appearance.

—Just kidding, this werewolf form had neither strength nor speed and was ugly to boot; it was just a toy to scare children!

If not for her collector's habit acting up, who would use it?

"Well, since you already know, things will be easier to discuss,"

Sirius said, relieved.

"Tonight is a full moon. Tonight, Remus will uncontrollably transform into a werewolf. For his transformation, we need a place to hide him."

Sirius scratched his head. "We originally had a good place, but recently the area around the school is full of Dementors. We're worried... worried that something might happen, so I thought of you to see if there's a good place to hide Remus for a night."

"The once-famous Marauders—is there still a place in this Hogwarts castle that you don't know about?"

"Empty titles, all empty titles!" Sirius unconsciously fiddled with a quill on the desk. "If we could have hidden Moony in the castle, we would have done it when we were students!"

Audrey asked curiously, "Isn't there the Wolfsbane Potion? If he takes the medicine, can't he just endure it by hiding in his dormitory?"

Lupin's smile was stiff as he explained, "The Wolfsbane Potion leaves me weak for several days, which makes it impossible for me to attend classes normally. I spent half a month recovering from injuries earlier and have only been teaching for a few days; I feel guilty about having to take leave again..."

Audrey frowned. "What's there to feel guilty about? Edmond Bagshot hasn't left yet; he's been staying in the Slytherin boys' dormitory. I assume Dumbledore had your werewolf condition in mind?"

Lupin shook his head. "How could I trouble him again? I've inquired, and he's not receiving a penny for substitute teaching. He does the work while I take the salary; I can't bring myself to do that."

Though the reason was a bit forced, it made sense; it sounded like exactly something Remus Lupin would do.

"Alright, stay in my suitcase for the night."

"Suitcase?"

"Yes, a suitcase. There's a vast prairie in there; you can do whatever you want."

Audrey reached out, and a suitcase appeared in her hand along with a distortion of space.

"Here, this is it."

Audrey placed the case on the ground and opened the lid.

"I'll take you inside first so they can recognize your faces; otherwise, you'll be eaten by my little cuties."

"Little cuties?"

Seeing Audrey jump into the suitcase first, Moony and Padfoot looked at each other.

"Remus, I understand my niece less and less, but she didn't seem very happy just now, did she?"

Lupin paused for a moment and said tentatively, "I heard she's been very lethargic lately. When you summoned her, could she have been sleeping? Is this morning grumpiness?"

"Well, that's very likely," Sirius laughed heartlessly, pointing at the suitcase. "Should we follow her down now?"

"Before we make her even angrier."

...

...

As soon as they entered the suitcase, the two were captivated by the scenery.

A lake that stretched as far as the eye could see, a broad grassland, and herds of cattle and sheep;

On the other side was a lush forest, with patches of medicinal herb fields within it;

Further away was a flat square—describing it as a square seemed inappropriate; a concrete plain?

On the smooth concrete ground, rows of tanks and armored vehicles were parked neatly;

A huge white airplane was parked in the center of this area, surrounded by tanks like a moon surrounded by stars.

"Welcome to my back garden."

Audrey turned around and made a gesture of embracing the sky.

The next moment, a loud dragon roar echoed.

Norberta flew in rapidly. The dust kicked up when she landed made the duo quickly cover their faces.

Before they could express their amazement,

Two brilliantly colored phoenixes also descended onto Audrey's shoulders, singing joyfully.

"These are all my little cuties."

Sirius blinked. It turned out Audrey's remark about "being eaten by little cuties" was not a joke.

"Norberta, this is Remus Lupin, a friend of my uncle's. He'll be staying here tonight. You're not allowed to bully him, understood?"

Norberta rubbed her large head against Audrey like a puppy.

If it were an ordinary person, they wouldn't be able to handle Norberta's nuzzling; even Hagrid would be pushed back three or four steps by such a nudge.

But Audrey remained motionless; the massive fire dragon truly seemed like a little cutie.

Seeing this, Sirius Black felt an itch in his heart—what wizard doesn't love a fire dragon?

He cautiously stepped forward to stroke the side of Norberta's face, looking satisfied.

Perhaps because his scent was similar to 'Mom's,' Norberta also nuzzled him once. However, this single nudge pushed him right over, making him roll twice on the grass.

Sirius: ...

He clearly saw a trace of disdain flash in Norberta's eyes.

Is that it?

"Alright, now that the introductions are over, I'm going back to rest,"

Audrey waved her hand, and Ao and Jin flew off her shoulders.

"Remember to return the suitcase to me tomorrow. Oh, I might be sleeping, so you can just give it to Isaline Windsor."

"Zip!"

...

...

Sirius stayed with Lupin for a while. He really wanted to turn into a big black dog to accompany Lupin, just like in their student days.

"No, Padfoot,"

Lupin shook his head. "You should go. You have classes tomorrow and should rest well."

"Fine," Sirius didn't persist. "Back in school, I thought professors were detestable, but it's only after becoming one that I realize how exhausting a profession it is."

Watching Sirius leave the suitcase, Lupin lay directly on the ground, closing his eyes to quietly wait for the uncontrollable werewolf transformation.

Minutes and seconds passed.

Finally, with a roar, the werewolf Lupin stood up!

It looked around, its eyes filled with bloodthirsty desire.

The herds of cattle and sheep made its mouth water!

Meat! Meat! Fresh meat!

The werewolf went on all fours, tongue lolling out, and charged toward a plump sheep.

It leaped high, its claws shining with a soul-stealing cold light!

"Roar!"

With a giant roar, a thick dragon tail swept across, sending the werewolf flying.

"Roar!" [This is my food!]

"Roar!" [Mom told me not to bully you, so I won't hit you, but you can't steal my food!]

Norberta tried hard to communicate with the werewolf, hoping this "little guy" would know when to quit.

But Lupin, having transformed into a werewolf, had lost his sanity; how could he read Norberta's expression?

"Roar!"

"Roar! Roar!"
