Chapter 99 - Chapter 100: Two Plus Three

Harry Potter's summer vacation was simply terrible. He encountered a strange house-elf who completely ruined Uncle Vernon's important meeting, and subsequently, he was locked up for nearly the entire summer!

Until the Weasleys drove a flying car and rescued him from his misery.

At the Weasleys' "The Burrow," he witnessed many magical things. Their family even had a tank! Although he wasn't quite sure why a wizarding family would possess a tank!

Of course, what touched him the most was the strong, warm feeling of family.

On the shopping day in Diagon Alley, just like in other parallel universes, he accidentally entered Knockturn Alley, coincidentally met Malfoy, and was rescued by Hagrid.

Now he had withdrawn money from his vault and went out to meet the Weasleys and the Grangers—thank goodness Gringotts had collapsed, but his vault remained unscathed!

Thanks to the Heaven and Earth Bank!

"Harry!" Ron's face was still red. Although his mother refused to spend money on him, he was still proud of his family's wealth. "You don't know, there are so many zeros in my family's bank account!"

What children love most is showing off in front of their friends.

Ron used to feel inferior because of his family's poverty, so now that they were wealthy, the first thing he wanted to do was share it with his best friend.

Harry chimed in, "Oh, that's wonderful!"

"Isn't this Mr. Arthur Weasley?"

A wizard and a witch walked towards the Weasley family. The wizard spoke, "We are reporters from the Daily Prophet, here to gather material for the opening of the Heaven and Earth Bank."

He set up his camera. "The establishment of the Heaven and Earth Bank has received support from numerous families. I heard that the Weasley family, as one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight, also contributed greatly. I wonder if we could take a group photo of your family with the Heaven and Earth Bank as the background? We might put the photo on the front page!"

"Oh! Front page!" Molly covered her mouth and exclaimed. "Quick, quick, quick, children, gather around, let's take a group photo!"

"Harry, you come too!"

"Oh, Hermione, dear, of course you too!"

...

After taking the photo, Molly said loudly, "We'll meet at Flourish and Blotts in an hour to buy your textbooks!"

The children responded and scattered. Ron clutched a five-Galleon Merlin Coin in his hand, incredibly excited—he had never possessed so much money before!

Strawberry and peanut butter ice cream, all kinds of snacks, trinkets... Ron finally experienced the joy of shopping after twelve years of life!

The Golden Trio ate ice cream and roamed freely in Diagon Alley. They saw the twins with Lee Jordan, buying a large pile of "Dr. Filibuster's Fabulous Wet-Start, No-Heat Fireworks." They saw Percy in a secondhand shop, intently reading Prefects Who Gained Power.

An hour was long; after all, Diagon Alley was only so big, and they finished walking through it in thirty minutes.

Before the agreed time, they had to sit by the street, licking ice cream, watching people come and go, and spacing out. They didn't even know Hydrus Lestrange had walked right past them.

Because Hydrus had changed into a passerby's face.

She wanted to make a private visit incognito!

This was also a spur-of-the-moment idea; she wanted to see how the service quality of the Heaven and Earth Bank was.

However, facts proved that this was another one of her silly moments, because a long queue had formed in front of the bank. If she wanted to go in with this face, she would have to wait for at least two hours.

Sighing, she decided to go watch a show instead.

She had just seen the protagonist team, which meant there might be a scene of Lucius and Arthur losing their dignity and engaging in hand-to-hand combat for three hundred rounds in front of Flourish and Blotts.

Although with her interference, the relationship between Lucius and Arthur might not be as tense as in the original universe, no one could say for sure about the corrective force of fate.

Well, even if she couldn't see two novices pecking at each other, she could at least watch Harry make a fool of himself.

Returning from the Heaven and Earth Bank, Hydrus arrived at the entrance of Flourish and Blotts.

Sure enough, Gilderoy Lockhart's performance was as stable as ever!

"Laughing beautifully, Harry," Lockhart had his arm around Harry Potter, his eight teeth flashing with dazzling light. "We can definitely make the front page! This is big news!"

This greasy man clamped Harry firmly to his side, causing our young lad's fingers to go numb.

"Ladies and gentlemen! What an unusual moment this is! I want to use this wonderful occasion to announce a little something..."

"...I announce with immense pleasure and pride that this September, I will become the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts!"

Hydrus watched the scene before her with delight. She found Harry's expression wonderfully colorful.

Awkwardness, constraint, shame, helplessness, dare not speak out in anger, annoyance...

The boy even had to cooperate with the reporters' requests to smile. That smile was as stiff as an old shoe insole pickled for thirty years!

But there was also a foolish cousin who couldn't read Harry's helplessness and thought he was showing off.

"Tsk tsk tsk, the famous Harry Potter! Even entering a bookstore can become front-page news!"

Draco mimicked his father's crooked mouth sneer.

Thus, the slicked-back cousin still got into a dispute with the redhead siblings. [If you want details, go read the original text. Copying the original text is suspected of plagiarism and won't pass censorship.]

A quarrel between the young ones drew out the old ones.

But the combat unit and the modification master were quite restrained this time; after all, they were both considered Audrey's allies.

"Mr. Weasley, even if you don't care about the glory of our pure-blood families, at least let your descendants have some upbringing!"

"Mr. Malfoy, I think what young Mr. Malfoy did just now was far from having an upbringing."

"Hmph," Lucius walked up to Ginny. He reached into Ginny's cauldron and took out a brand new A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration. "Oh, indeed, having money makes a difference. You can afford new books."

Lucius shook his head and pointed at the Grangers beside Arthur. "But I still think your family has fallen terribly. Look at what kind of people you are making friends with!"

He smashed the textbook heavily back into Ginny's cauldron. The force was so great that the little girl couldn't help but take a few steps back.

"Lucius Malfoy!"

Arthur roared and wanted to rush forward but was held back by Molly. "There's no need for us to get angry over that kind of person!"

Lucius Malfoy wrinkled his nose and shook his head, flicking his cane. "Draco, let's go!"

Then he raised his head and left. It wasn't until he was far away from the crowded Flourish and Blotts that Lucius breathed a sigh of relief imperceptibly. (The origin of the matter is in Chapter 96; those who skip reading can find a reasonable reason there.)

Although Hydrus standing in the crowd felt somewhat regretful that she didn't get to see a show, Lucius still ended up stuffing Tom Riddle's diary on Ginny.

Others might not have seen it, but she saw it clearly.

Even without the opportunity to divert attention through a fight, Lucius still took the risk to deliver the diary to the Weasleys. Was there some hidden story behind this?

But this thought only spun in her mind for a few seconds before dissipating.

Wasn't it just the Chamber of Secrets?

What did it have to do with her? Anyway, this school year would be threatening but not dangerous, and she had no interest in interacting with her sixteen-year-old "father."

Right now, wasn't the most important thing for her to go to the Ministry of Magic and cancel that "disorderly command" that made her repeat a year?
