Latte gasped and slapped her hands over her mouth. "Oh my heavens—"
Coffi made a choking sound. "NOPE. NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT. That's illegal. That's a crime against humanity."
"I hate rats," I said flatly. "I really hate rats."
The room was dead silent now. Latte's eyes were glossy with horror. "My lady… are you sure this was a dream?"
"No," I said immediately. "I'm sure it wasn't."
Chubby straightened, eyes sharp. "It had weight, didn't it?"
"Yes."
Coffi frowned. "A vision?"
I nodded.
Latte whispered, "He called your name…"
"Yes."
"…And asked you to find him?"
"Yes."
Coffi groaned, dragging her hands down her face. "Why is it always men with muscles getting kidnapped?"
I ignored that.
"This wasn't symbolic," I said firmly. "It wasn't metaphorical. It wasn't my subconscious being dramatic." I pointed to my temple. "I saw it. I can map it."
Silence settled heavier than before. Latte swallowed. "Then… he's alive."
