Chapter 128 - The Eyes Never Lie

DRAVEN 

"That's not true," Wren whispered, but her voice wavered.

"Isn't it?" Circe moved toward her, and I saw Wren shrink back slightly. "Face it, darling. Althea is never coming back. She's probably forgotten you even exist by now. Too busy playing Luna to some northern savage to remember the pathetic little sister she left behind."

Wren's eyes filled with tears. "She would never do that. He must have taken her by force." 

"Your delusion would have been adorable if it weren't so pathetic." 

"Stop it." I hissed standing between the sisters. 

"Why? Because the truth hurts?" Circe's smile was cruel. "Get used to disappointment, Wren. It's all you'll ever get from her. Mother was always right about her. She betrayed our pack for a man that has hurt us." 

"He is the bad man! She was taken by him." 

That surprised me because Wren knew very little of anything but what she was saying now just proved to me that she was far more cognizant than we ever gave her credit for.
