Chapter 13 - Chapter 213: Three Secret Manuals

Qing Yun smiled faintly, "Yun girl, I find your idea quite interesting. I am the oldest, and I have the most experience, so when it comes to teaching, I should have the greatest advantage. Come, Yun girl, I will now teach you a secret technique of my own creation, the Perception Method. This method, when applied to refining pills, allows you to sense the state of the pill at all times, making it easy to adjust as needed. When applied in battle, it also has remarkable effects."

Ji Wusi couldn't help glancing at Qing Yun.

This so-called Perception Method sounded simple, but in truth, it was practically one of Qing Yun's bottom-of-the-chest treasures.

That old bull-nose was truly going all out this time.

If it had been for anyone else, he might've yielded.

But Yun Jin before him very likely had an Innate Sword Body, the successor he and the entire Kunlun Sword Sect had sought for a thousand years.

How could he give in?

Ji Wusi didn't even dare voice his suspicion. If the words Innate Sword Body were spoken, then a thousand years from now she would almost certainly become the number one expert of the mortal realm.

If the demonic cultivators or the Demon Clan learned of this, Yun Jin would become their prime target for slaughter.

If he failed to protect her, it would be a lifelong regret.

So Ji Wusi dared not speak of the Innate Sword Body, but he could not allow Yun Jin to stray from the righteous path, to dabble in alchemy or beast taming.

That would be squandering Heaven's gift!

Without thinking much further, Ji Wusi said, "You have already started learning the Azure Lotus Sword Technique. This sword technique is of pure water attribute. Based on the Azure Lotus Sword Technique, I created four other attribute sword techniques: the Golden Lotus Sword Technique, the Wood Lotus Sword Technique, the Fire Lotus Sword Technique, and the Earth Lotus Sword Technique. If you can master the entry level of all five sword techniques and integrate them, the five elements will generate each other, and perhaps you will comprehend a sword technique that's truly your own."

Yun Jin: "…"

Being able to create other attribute sword techniques from the Azure Lotus Sword Technique was undoubtedly impressive.

But these names… could they be any more perfunctory?

Qing Yun outright criticized, "Ji Wusi, if you can't name things, then don't."

Ji Wusi, however, remained calm, "A name is just a name. What matters is that it works."

As the foremost human cultivator, he had long studied the Azure Lotus Sword Codex, of which the Azure Lotus Sword Technique was merely the more basic, foundational version. After many years of research, the other techniques he created were no worse than the Azure Lotus Sword Technique.

An Innate Sword Body with Five Element Roots like Yun Jin was the first time he had encountered one.

Ji Wusi didn't think there was anything bad about having Five Element Roots.

Absorbing spiritual energy too quickly?

With the resources of an entire sect, could they not supply one disciple with enough pills?

In the Holy Lands, this was a trivial matter.

In Kunlun Sword Sect, what mattered most was insight into sword techniques.

With Yun Jin's Innate Sword Body, she clearly wouldn't have any problems in this regard.

Qing Yun and Ji Wusi had both offered valuable techniques, so now the pressure shifted to Liuli.

After a moment's thought, Liuli said, "At present, you have only one spirit beast. There's no rush to teach you beast-related techniques. Instead, I will teach you a method to apply mental power. Once mastered, your control over mental power will rise to a higher level."

A method for applying mental power?

Yun Jin was indeed looking forward to it.

That must've been the reason Liuli could, with just a glance, control Li Heng earlier.

It could only be said that these three great figures had all brought out good things.

Yun Jin really wanted to learn them.

But…

She asked cautiously, "What if I actually manage to learn them all… what then?"

These were their unique secret techniques. If she learned them all but didn't formally take them as masters, wouldn't that be taking advantage of them?

Learn them all?

Qing Yun and the others all laughed.

They didn't actually believe Yun Jin could learn them all.

Of course, it wasn't because they intended to hold back.

The difficulty lay in the task itself. Focusing on one technique for years might allow one to get started, but to attempt three different secret techniques at once and hope to master them all in a short time? How could that be possible?

What they really wanted was for Yun Jin to understand through practice that greed cannot be chewed through.

To let her realize for herself that her talent was not enough to support her on three different paths.

First, they would attract her with secret techniques. Later, when she inevitably failed to grasp them in time, she would naturally want to focus on just one.

And at that point, their opportunity would come.

For now, it was simply a matter of whose secret technique could appeal to her the most.

"Don't worry about that." Qing Yun said with a smile.

"But… what if?" Yun Jin asked timidly.

It wasn't a matter of what if.

She was certain she could learn them all.

When that happened, the battlefield of rivalries would only grow fiercer.

Yun Jin seemed very insistent on an answer.

Qing Yun and the others exchanged glances. Finally, Qing Yun half-joked, "Then the three of us will simply all be your masters. How about that?"

Though Qing Yun said it as a joke, Yun Jin seriously considered it, "If that's the case, which Holy Land would I count as joining?"

She actually thought about it seriously, making the others laugh.

Ji Wusi directly said, "If that really happens, you need not join any Holy Land. The three of us can each take you as our disciple privately. How about that?"

"That sounds wonderful." Yun Jin's eyes lit up. "Then, since I'm used to living here in Tianxing Sect, can I continue to stay?"

Liuli couldn't help but laugh. This girl really thought things through.

She simply said, "As you wish."

"Then good." Yun Jin blinked. "In that case, shall we set the period as ten days? Within these ten days, I will learn all three of your techniques. If I can succeed, then I will acknowledge all three of you as my masters."

The three voiced no objections, "Deal."

In their minds, ten days was far too little. For Yun Jin to get started with even one technique would be extremely difficult, let alone three completely different ones.

What they planned to do was use those ten days to sway Yun Jin's heart.

In other words, they would each show her their full personal charm!

"Then we'll begin the day after tomorrow." Ji Wusi said at once. "There are twenty-four hours in a day. Yun girl should rest for six hours. Of the remaining eighteen hours, I will take the six in the morning."

Qing Yun said, "Then I'll take the afternoon."

Liuli smiled faintly, "The night shall be mine."

In no time at all, the three had divided up Yun Jin's schedule.

The Heavenly Sword Peak crowd watching from the side was thoroughly entertained.

At this moment, Lin Ya suddenly thought of something and asked curiously, "Seniors, why start the day after tomorrow?"

Given how impatient they seemed, he thought they would want to start immediately.

Ji Wusi only smiled faintly, "Tomorrow, someone will come seeking trouble. We'll deal with that first."

Qing Yun also showed a subtle expression.

Liuli only smiled.

Clearly, the three inexplicably shared a secret among themselves.

Lin Ya was stunned, somewhat bewildered.

Someone is coming to make trouble?

In the current cultivation world, who would dare trouble these three?

Then suddenly, Lin Ya's eyes flickered.

Kunlun Sword Sect, Beast Taming Sect, Xuandan Sect.

Among the Four Holy Lands, only Qingxiao Pavilion remained absent.

Li Heng of Qingxiao Pavilion had died here, and Zhao Wuji had a father there.

Zhao Wuji feared death more than anyone. Surely, by now, he had already panicked and sent word to Zhao Ling.

But a mere Zhao Ling was nothing before these three seniors.

Unless…

Lin Ya felt his heart tremble, not daring to think further!

This level of conflict was no longer something a small figure like him could take part in.
