The wave of rage that slammed into Curtis at the sight of his ex fiance was crushing.
His hands curled into fists, and his entire body stiffened up as he stared at her.
The tension that descended into the room was thick and almost visible. Lara, who had no idea what was going on, looked from Vivian back to her husband.
"Get out," Curtis snapped. His eyes blazed red, and he looked like he was one step away from committing physical harm.
Lara had never seen him this enraged. She wanted to speak, but her instincts warned her not to. This wasn't a fight she should butt into, no.

Vivian cocked her head to the side. She held Curtis's angry gaze with her calm, collected one, and there was no sign of hesitation in her expression as she spoke.
