He ran a hand through his hair, then shook his head vigorously. "Focus. Focus, damn it." He muttered the words under his breath, forcing his attention away from the lingering sensation and back to the task at hand.
From beneath the cart, a soft, satisfied hum drifted out—Lilith, clearly still awake, clearly aware of his flustered state. Adam's jaw tightened.
