Adam opened his mouth to respond to Lilith's pouty defense of her honesty, but before he could form words, a familiar voice erupted directly into his mind—loud, enthusiastic, and thoroughly impatient.
'ADAM! Are you two DONE yet?! I finished cleaning up all the bandits out here AGES ago! There were so many of them, it was FUN, but now I'm BORED and you're taking FOREVER! What are you even DOING in there?!'
Adam winced slightly at the volume, rubbing his temple. "Ignis says she's done with the bandits outside and is bored waiting for us."
Lilith's pout transformed into a small, knowing smile. "Ah. The little firecracker grows impatient. How... expected."
Adam projected his thoughts back through the mental link, keeping his tone calm. 'We're almost done in here. Got some prisoners to release. Just wait a little longer.'
'Fiiiiine,' Ignis's mental voice came back, sulky but acquiescent. 'But hurry up! I wanna see what's in here!'
