Jacob closed the window shutters and spoke, "So, where were we?"
Della answered calmly, "My name is Della Dixon."
"Yes, now I remember," Jacob said as he sat down at the table. He looked at her and asked how old she was.
"I'm fourteen," Della replied.
Jacob nodded and asked about her future goals. Della told him that she wanted to become a doctor, but she was also interested in the technology field and liked both equally.
"That's good," Jacob said, then asked if she lived alone.
Della explained that she had rented a house in New York for her studies. Her parents lived in Texas and visited her sometimes.
"How often is sometimes?" Jacob asked.
"Fifteen days a month," she replied.
Jacob suggested that she ask her parents to stay with her, but Della said they did not agree.
He then asked what she did besides studying. Della told him that she worked at a bakery. When he asked if she made cakes, she nodded and explained that she did it to help her parents pay the rent.
Jacob then asked if she had a boyfriend. Della looked at him for a minute before answering no.
Calling her a good girl, Jacob remarked that she must be very busy managing both studies and work. Della thanked him for understanding.
Jacob then said that he would remove all her problems that day and that she would get whatever she wanted. Confused, Della asked how.
Jacob stood up, took a few papers out of the table drawer, and placed them in front of her. He told her to simply sign the papers.
Della asked what kind of papers they were. Stepping closer, Jacob told her that they were deal papers and advised her to read them carefully before signing. He added that she could take a whole week to understand them if she wished.
Jacob then took out a card from the drawer and handed it to her, telling her to call him if her answer was yes, and that his driver would come to collect the papers.
Della asked what would happen if she said no.
Moving closer to her, Jacob replied that in that case she should tear the papers and throw them away, and forget everything like a bad dream.
After saying this, Jacob walked away.
