He brushed Mei's side bangs aside, revealing her lightly flushed ears.
"But like you said, we have to live. We don't need to be overly frugal, but we also shouldn't buy unnecessary things, right?"
Mei hummed in agreement, then nodded and said,
"So in the end, you still want me to be your present, right!"
Otis pinched her cheek and Mei let out a yelp.
They teased each other for a while, bought two more bedsheets, then used the dryer to dry Otis's set from yesterday, and once again slept on Otis's bed.
The next day.
Otis arrived at the company and sat down at his desk with practiced ease.
Ron heard the clicking of the keyboard behind him and couldn't shake the feeling that Richart was getting happier by the day.

He sighed, then tapped Otis's chair.
Otis looked back, confused.
"What's wrong?"
Ron lowered his voice.
"Our department got a new deputy director. Looks like we're about to get even more work."
