: The Truth of the Curse Guru Vishwaraya's Tale
Location: A secret chamber in the Pawangadh Palace
Time: The night before the wedding, deep in the night
---
Guru Vishwaraya had summoned Akash, Neer, Agni, Vayansh, and Dhara to a secluded chamber. Only a single oil lamp burned within, its flame trembling faintly in the still air. The atmosphere was thick with gravity and mystery.
Guru Vishwaraya: (In a solemn tone)
"Disciples, the time has come for you to know the truth. The truth hidden in your dreams, the haze in your eyes, and the pain beating in your hearts—today, it will be unveiled."
Vayansh: (Startled)
"What truth, Gurudev? We do not understand."
Dhara: (Trembling slightly)
"But Gurudev, how do you know all this? We never told you about our dreams."
Vayansh: (Turning to Dhara)
"That means... Princess... you also had those dreams? The visions where we try to reach each other but cannot?"
Dhara: (Eyes widening)
"You too? That means... Prince, you also saw something... someone reaching towards you?"
Vayansh: (Nodding)
"Yes, Princess. Every night... the same vision."
Agni: (Impatiently)
"But Gurudev, what is all this? What truth lies behind it? Is this some kind of curse?"
Neer: (In an anguished voice)
"Yes, Gurudev, please do not test our patience any longer. Please tell us the truth and mystery behind all this."
Akash: (Calm but grave)
"Gurudev, I told you that when the right time came, you would reveal the truth about the images that appeared in my meditation. Please tell us the truth now, Gurudev. Those dreams... those visions... those figures I see are they real?"
---
Guru Vishwaraya took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and began to speak slowly. His voice carried an otherworldly resonance, as if coming from beyond time.
The Ancient Tale: The Unfinished Love of a Goddess and a Demon
Guru Vishwaraya:
"Listen, disciples... This tale is from a time when the world was in balance. The Devas were adept in their duties, and the Asuras were diligent in their deeds. The boundaries between Swarga and Patala were clear, the laws were strict.
In that era, there was a powerful king of the Asuras Vranasura. He was flying through the skies with his brother using their divine powers when his gaze fell upon the gardens of the Brahma Temple in Swarga, where the Goddess Vasudha sister of the Devaraja was picking flowers.
Vasudha's beauty was unparalleled. Her lotus-like eyes, deep as the ocean, lips like rose petals, and a voice sweeter than honey. The moment Vranasura saw her, he was enchanted. He lost control over his mind and eyes and crossed into the forbidden boundary of Swarga.
Vasudha heard a sound behind her and, being a goddess, immediately attacked with her powers. But Vranasura evaded her and appeared directly before her.
Goddess Vasudha: (Angrily)
'Asura King! Do you not know your limits? This is the boundary of Swarga your entry here is forbidden!'
Vranasura: (Humble yet firm)
'O Goddess... I lost control of my mind and eyes. Your beauty, your power, your voice... I was drawn to them. How can I look away now? You are not only the embodiment of beauty but also a Kshatriya warrior-queen.'
Vasudha: (Sternly)
'O Asura King, please give your tongue some rest. Leave now. If any Deva sees you, your end is certain.'
Vranasura: (Eyes full of surrender)
'Goddess, I have given you my heart. Even if my end comes now, I accept it. I wish to make you my consort.'
Vasudha: (Shocked)
'What are you saying? You know this love is a sin! The union of a Deva and an Asura will never be accepted!'
Vranasura: (Earnestly)
'I know. But O Goddess, in love, one sees neither caste nor lineage. There is only... love. I have lost my heart to you. I would rather die than live without you.'
After several secret meetings, Goddess Vasudha's heart also melted. She began to secretly yearn for Vranasura. But she knew this was a sin. Devas and Asuras were enemies. Their union was impossible.
---
The Betrayal and the Curse
For many years, they met in secret. But one day, a few Devas and Asuras saw them. The news spread like wildfire.
A grand Yagna was organized. All Devas and Asuras gathered. Vranasura and Vasudha were brought to the center.
Devaraja: (Furious)
'This is a sin! A Goddess and an Asura in love? This is an insult to both Swarga and Patala!'
Asura Minister: (With disdain)
'Our king fell in love with a Deva? This is against our laws!'
After a great dispute, it was decided that they should be married to maintain peace. But this was merely a deception.
On the day of the wedding, as Vranasura and Vasudha were walking towards the mandap, the Devaraja and the Asura Minister attacked them from behind in betrayal. Both lovers ran towards each other, but swords had already pierced their bodies.
Vranasura: (Drenched in blood, reaching towards Vasudha)
'Vasudha... my beloved...'
Vasudha: (Tears streaming, reaching out)
'Vranasura... we could not unite...'
Their hands were about to meet when the Devaraja struck again. Both fell to the ground, their hands missing each other by merely a finger's breadth.
In her final moments, Vasudha opened her eyes and uttered a curse her voice filled with pain, anger, and infinite sorrow:
'I, Goddess Vasudha, taking my love, my God, and my vow of chastity as witness, curse all of you!
You both Devas and Asuras shall never find your love! For ages, you shall wander, searching for each other, but never unite!
Until you understand the true meaning of love, until you break the bonds of caste, lineage, and laws, your love shall never be accepted by society!
This is my curse!'
And at that very moment, both lovers breathed their last. Their hands remained a finger's breadth apart forever."

Connection to the Present
Guru Vishwaraya opened his eyes. The chamber was silent. Everyone's eyes were moist.
Guru Vishwaraya:
"Disciples... this curse of the unfinished love of Vranasura and Vasudha has echoed through the ages. And you...
Vayansh and Dhara you both are incarnations of those very lovers. Your dreams, your memories, your attraction all are echoes of that unfinished love.
Akash in your past life, you were the Deva who exposed this love. That is why you see these visions and carry an unknown pain in your heart.
Agni and Neer you too are caught in this curse's web. The enmity between your clans, your conflict all are reflections of that ancient feud."
Dhara: (Wiping tears)
"But Gurudev... is liberation from this curse possible?"
Guru Vishwaraya: (Smiling gently)
"Yes, my child. Liberation is possible. But for that, you must understand true love the love that is above caste, lineage, laws, and even death. You must not repeat the mistakes of your past lives.
Vayansh and Dhara your marriage is not merely the union of two kingdoms. It is an attempt to break a curse. If you cherish each other with true hearts, this curse will shatter.
Agni and Neer your friendship is your path. You must hold not just animosity but understanding for each other.
Akash you must atone for the deeds of your past life. Your meditation and penance are your liberation."
Guru Vishwaraya blessed them all.
"Now go.Tomorrow is a crucial day. Remember love is the only power that can break a curse."
Everyone left the chamber, each mind now holding a new awareness, a new understanding. In the darkness of the night, the stars seemed to have begun writing a new story the story of breaking a curse.
Guru Vishwaraya's words faded into the silence of the chamber,
but the truth he revealed did not.
It clung to them
to their breaths,
to their memories,
to the invisible spaces between their hearts.
No one spoke as they walked away.
The palace corridors seemed longer than before,
heavier, as if every stone remembered the blood once spilled for love.
Somewhere in the distance, wedding lamps were being lit
warm, golden, hopeful.
And yet, every flame felt like a question:
Would this union end the curse…
or repeat its cruelty?
Akash slowed his steps, his chest tightening,
as if a forgotten sin had finally learned his name.
Agni and Neer exchanged a glance
one that carried centuries of hatred…
and the terrifying possibility of choosing differently.
Vayansh clenched his fists,
feeling a phantom pain in his chest,
where a sword had once pierced his heart in another life.
And far away, alone in her chamber,
Dhara felt tears slide down her cheeks
without knowing why
only that tomorrow
love would demand more than vows.
The past had revealed itself.
Now it waited
watching closely
to see who would repeat it…
and who would dare to defy it.
