POV: ELARA
Twenty-nine minutes.
I looked at the fortifications, at the thousands of enemies between us and the Stone, at the impossible task ahead.
And made a decision that would probably kill me.
"Kael," I said quickly, urgently. "You lead the main assault. Take everyone. Hit them hard, keep Vaerix's forces busy, make them commit everything to stopping you."
"What are you doing?" he demanded, already understanding through the Merge that I was planning something desperate.
"I'm going through, not around." I turned to look at our strike force. "I need two volunteers who trust me to do something insane."
Morgana stepped forward immediately. Then Theron, his fae features set with grim determination.
"What's the plan?" Theron asked.
I pointed at the mountain itself—the ancient stone that housed the ruins, that had absorbed centuries of dragon magic seeping into its foundations.
