Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: The Second Awakening

Silence ruled the Witch Tower courtyard.

Not the calm kind.

The hollow kind.

The kind that comes after something irreversible.

---

Orion's Arms

Orion did not move.

He knelt in the shattered stone, Lyra cradled tightly against his chest, his hands trembling despite all his control.

Her skin was cold.

Too cold.

No Phoenix warmth.

No gentle flame flicker.

Nothing.

"Lyra…" he whispered hoarsely.

His Sun Aura tried to rise—

Then flickered unevenly.

For the first time since the Celestial Warriors formed—

Orion's control was slipping.

---

The Others Freeze

Around them, the battlefield stood in stunned paralysis.

Serena's light dimmed to a fragile glow.

Kael's crescent aura wavered silently.

Emma leaned heavily against Kai, eyes wide with disbelief.

Sofia's healing vines faltered mid-growth as she stared at Lyra's still form.

Nero, barely standing, clenched his fists despite his injuries.

Mia's water hovered motionless.

Rafael's wind died completely.

Even Seraphina and Zane's merged darkness and shadow stood unnaturally still.

No one spoke.

Because everyone felt it.

Lyra's life force…

Was gone.

---

Above — The Witches Observe

High in the fractured sky, the Arcane Trio watched.

Selmara's eyes narrowed slightly.

"…her core is extinguished."

Velmira tilted her head.

"Yet the Phoenix bloodline is… unpredictable."

The third witch, still cloaked in faint distortion, smiled faintly.

"Wait."

---

The First Flicker

It began softly.

So softly that only Orion felt it first.

A pulse.

Weak.

Fragile.

Against his chest.

His eyes snapped wide.

"…what?"

For a moment—

Nothing happened.

Then—

Lyra's Celestial Ring burned.

---

Phoenix Response

Not explosive.

Not violent.

Slow.

Ancient.

Golden-red light seeped from the cracks in her armor, spreading across her body like liquid dawn.

Serena gasped.

"…it's reacting…"

Kael straightened despite his injuries.

"The Phoenix…"

Orion's grip tightened.

"Lyra—"

---

Heartbeat Returns

Once.

A faint beat.

Twice.

Stronger.

Then—

BOOM.

Phoenix fire erupted from Lyra's body in a massive spiral that blasted dust and shattered stone outward.

Orion was forced back several steps—but he did not release her.

Never.

The flames did not burn chaotically.

They folded inward.

Condensing.

Refining.

Evolving.

---

The Second Fairy Transformation

Lyra's body lifted slowly from Orion's arms, suspended within a cocoon of blazing Phoenix fire.

Her torn aura began reconstructing itself layer by layer.

The flames shifted color—

From crimson…

To radiant gold…

To something brighter.

More refined.

More divine.

Seraphina's eyes widened.

"…her flame signature changed."

Zane's shadow rippled.

"She broke through."

---

Emergence

The Phoenix cocoon shattered.

Lyra stepped forward.

Alive.

Breathing.

Transformed.

Her hair now shimmered with faint golden-red strands of living flame.

Behind her—

A pair of radiant Phoenix wings partially manifested, more defined than before yet still ethereal and fairy-like in structure.

Her eyes opened.

Brilliant.

But trembling.

"Orion…"

Her voice was soft.

Unsteady.

But alive.

---

Orion Moves First

He reached her in one step and pulled her into his arms so tightly she gasped.

"You idiot," his voice broke. "You absolute idiot…"

But his hands were shaking.

Lyra weakly clutched his chest, her body still trembling from the rebirth shock.

"I… stopped it…"

"You almost killed yourself again."

"…I know…"

Her voice cracked.

Deep inside—

The trauma hadn't faded.

If anything—

It had deepened.

---

Battlefield Reaction

Across the courtyard, the Celestial Warriors felt it clearly.

Lyra was stronger now.

Much stronger.

But—

Her aura wasn't fully stable.

Serena whispered softly,

"She forced the breakthrough…"

Kael nodded grimly.

"At a cost."

---

The Arcane Trio Reassesses

High above, the witches' expressions finally shifted.

Selmara's calm smile had thinned.

"…Second Fairy Transformation achieved under lethal stress."

Velmira's crescent dimmed slightly.

"Her growth rate is exceeding projections."

The third witch finally spoke clearly for the first time:

"Not yet."

The three sigils slowly dimmed.

Not defeated.

Not retreating fully.

But recalculating.

---

Lyra's Quiet Fear

Still in Orion's arms, Lyra's fingers trembled slightly against his chest.

Her voice dropped to a whisper only he heard.

"…I died again."

His arms tightened immediately.

"I know."

Her shoulders shook once.

Very small.

Very controlled.

"…I was scared."

Orion pressed his forehead gently against hers.

"Then next time…"

His Sun Aura wrapped around her Phoenix warmth.

"…you won't face it alone."

Her breathing slowly steadied—

But the fear did not fully leave her eyes.

Not yet.

Not after dying twice.

---

Temporary Withdrawal

Above the battlefield, the Arcane Trio finally began to fade back into the fractured sky.

Selmara's voice echoed one last time:

"Recover while you can, Phoenix Princess."

Velmira added coldly:

"Phase Three will not be so forgiving."

The third witch simply watched Lyra for three long seconds—

Then vanished into the clouds.

The sky slowly began to stabilize.

For now.

---

After the Storm

The courtyard remained in ruins.

The Celestial Warriors regrouped slowly.

But all eyes kept drifting back to Lyra—

Standing in Orion's arms.

Alive.

Stronger.

But visibly shaken.
