Lucien had been trying to find traces of Kenneth everywhere on campus.
He'd even tried contacting the Anchor, but his messages would either be left unread or he'd be brushed off. He couldn't help the prick of disappointment that pierced his chest. What was he supposed to do now? How was he supposed to apologize when the person he'd hurt wouldn't bother giving him the time of day?
He sighed. Were Anchors always this difficult?
The more he thought about it, the more he decided, no, that wasn't the case. Only Kenneth Grey was being difficult. Any other Anchor would've been at his beck and call, would've been grovelling at his feet for his attention. Lucien grimaced. Unfortunately, that's not what he wanted. He would've been easier if it were, though.
"What's wrong with you?" Alcione asked as they sat inside the dining hall.
Lucien's jaw clenched. "It's nothing."
"Really? Cause it looks like you're about to break that metal fork with your bare hands."
