Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: There's More Than Two

Rustle, rustle.

A bright yellow color covered her eyes, tugging against her head without reason. Shaking her head in defiance as her ears twitched in protest, she tried her best to hiss at whatever was doing this but she could hardly move her head, let alone use her dry throat.

She was just so tired.

"Oh… you poor thing, who would leave you like this?" The yellow finally pulled away from her eyes, meeting eyes with an angel. Her eyes were a hazy brown, wrinkles etched her face like cracks did on stone, her smile was so warm, like a setting sun.

Jade didn't want to move.

Pat, pat.

"Look at you, without all that dirt, you're a pearl." The angel cooed, turning over the yellow thing, pressing it gently on Jade, it was dirtier with every dab. The corners of her eyes drooped as she washed the yellow thing in a metal tub thing—a base.

"Urg… urg…" trying to speak again only made her throat burn, the pain spiked as her chest constricted, coughing up sand. Rasping against her throat, clenching her hands in an attempt to raise claw at her throw failed as her shoulders refused to move.

Sigh.

Pausing in her attempts to raise her arms, she looked at the angel. Using her eyes to plead for help, the angel lightly shook her head.

"Now, now. No need to cry, my dead, Camila is here. Don't worry your little toes." she totted resting her hand on Jade's head, a wave of warmth spread throughout her body. Her ears fluttered, blinking as the pain melted away with every pulse of warmth.

The angel's hand glittered a soft green, it drew her attention in. She wanted to grab it.

"Wha-what is that?" Jade croaked out through her parched throat, she couldn't close her mouth as the warmth pulsed through her again. The pain was so dull she could barely even feel it, it was like a superpower.

The angel's eyes seemed to light up with a delighted twinkle, the haze in her eyes was less present.

She looked so beautiful.

"This is Aura, a mystical power gifted to humanity as protection against the darkness." Blinking in awe, her mouth made an 'o' shape as she understood none of that but it sounded cool.

"Please don't move too much dear, my semblance isn't as it used to be." The angel looked slightly alarmed at her squirming but she couldn't help it, the angel was just so cool.

"What's a semblance…?" her voice rough from underuse, the angel seemed to notice as she quickly handed Jade a cup of water. It was so cold and so sweet… and a little tangy but what wasn't tangy in Vacuo.

"A semblance is a soul's expression, it shows who we are on the inside." Her smile was so radiant and warm, it made Jade smile back even though she didn't understand.

The world never looked so bright,

Her earring came back first, clicking an octave too low to be a Sulfurfish. Next came her sight, moving her head away from the wall, a groan escaped her. Blinking the black spots away from her sight, the major black spot didn't go away, it was getting closer—

Bam!

Twisting her neck in the last second, the debris clattered against her Aura as she used her good leg to push herself back. Putting her parallel to the Grimm—shit!

Ducking under the massive arm, Jade pulled out her Twin trouble that was still in its pistol formation.

Bam, Bam, Bam!

Only one bullet actually hit its mark, maybe she shouldn't have aimed for the head. Side stepping the massive fist that kicked sand everywhere. She could hear the sand melt, her Aura flashed as crystalized sand clinked off her cheeks.

The formation A Sulfurfish roared, the sand reverberated through the sand, her ears pressed themselves into her skull.

"Damn itstay still!" she didn't know why she used her Semblance but she wasn't expecting… expecting that it would work.

But it did.

The Grimm's large frame seized up, muscles cramping as its massive eye-thing spurted magma.

It was a relative win for her but her Semblance Ordian only worked on those who had Aura, Grimm shouldn't have Aura so how…

Not thinking about it for too long, connecting both TwinTroubles to form it into its rifle formation.

Bam!!

Blowing off half of its face, taking her chance to run before it could recover. Pumping Aura into her legs and solely her legs, slamming her shoulder into a house, it cracked as she pushed off of it.

She fell onto the sand in front of her door, there was a corpse dented on her door, she felt her stomach cramp up, clasping her mouth shut.

"Blurgh!!"

There was so much bone, so much blood—it smelled horrible. She never wished to learn what burnt flesh smelled like, what boiled blood smelled like. How the stench clung to the back of her throat.

Would that have been her if she didn't run—

"Are you well, child?"

"Aaaahhhh!"

A strangled yelp tore itself out of her throat, alternating flashes of cold and hot rocked her body uncomfortably as she watched the body pry itself from the door. Too little muscle, too little bone, far too much snapping and cracking before it propped itself into a sitting position.

Thud

Tripping over her own hammer as she tried to back away, landing on her wrist in an uncomfortable angle. It didn't stop her from crawling away from it.

"Wha-wha-what the hell!" kicking up sand, one of her hands reaching for her fallen hammer yet she only managed to clasp sand before she fell even further again. Her ears cramped themselves against her skull.

"Please, be not afraid. This is my Semblance; Medium. I can talk through the dead and sense the dead." as it spoke, the tongue went through the under jaw was all but calming.

Not. One. Bit.

"Are you calm now?" The corpse sounded impatient. She didn't want the corpse to eat her, forcing her breath under control.

"What!! No! Yes! Maybe! What the hell…" she paused, putting a hand over her chest as she took a deep breath, finally under control. Looking back at the corpse, its eyes glowed an odd blue, eyes shouldn't glow like that.

It made her uncomfortable.

"What's… what's going on?"

It must've noticed the tremble in her voice, Jade could see its eyes soften—growing more deliberate with its limited movements.

"I'm relaying a message to you from Opal, disregard your post, most of the civilians have already reached the evacuation zone. The Sulfurfish are congregating in the town square towards the evacuation zone, kill as many as possible before they can merge into something actually dangerous." Having said his piece, the body lost its remaining form of life, the hand rolled off the neck to her toes.

Blurgh.

***

"Tch"

Pat

Talc's graceful foot, drilled into the sand like a heated blade through paper, not a grain of sand parted as his powerful calves carried him away from the reckless swipe of a half fused Sulfurfish. The ground remained tranquil around him even as the beast threw sand everywhere.

Circling around the horrid creature, a bulging mass of combined Sulfurfish, it was half complete and injured. Far too slow to ever touch Talc, its tails writhed around, cocking his fist back as he found an opening.

The issue was its durability.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Three precise jabs distorted the marrow plating of the Grimm's natural armour, minor dents that hurt his knuckles more than it damaged the Grimm. His strikes were getting weaker and slower, having to restrain his Aura, a formation A Sulfurfish was one of its more primitive forms.

The danger lies in the possibility of a formation B or C Sulfurfish, or a Sulfurfish combination that hasn't been labeled.

It snorted in pain as it raised its malshaped arm high above its body, magma rolled down the many cuts that layered it. Backstepping away from the powerful slam that sent plums of sand, giving Talc the perfect cover to go for another strike.

The cloud of sand shifted, vortexing into tendrils that stabbed into its feet, driving the beast into the ground. The Grimm howled in pain that was cut short by Talc striking at its center eye, cracking it.

It pinched his hand, stopping him from pulling back as it swung its arm into the ground, going for an uppercut. The sand its fist ran through melted—no, all the sand around it was melting. The formation A was getting hotter—

Crack!

"Why is this thing getting tougher…" muttering to himself as he wretched his hand from its face cavity, his fingers were slightly blistered as its overwhelming heat overcame his Aura's temperature regulation.

If this kept up, it'll get too hot for him to punch, gliding to its right side where half of its face was missing, the following flurry of swings missed him by a wide margin.

Its telegraphed swings made it easier for Talc's fist to strike through its joints, even those were insanely durable but far more brittle than the raw plating that coated its entire being.

"Aagh!"

From his peripherals, he saw the death before he heard the crunching of bone and squelching of organs of one of the few trained fighters that Mica held. He didn't even have the dignity to die with a weapon, having used a broken pitchfork.

No, what caught his attention was what happened next, it made his ever hot body go cold.

The Sulfurfish congregated around the body, the beast he was fighting broke away, similarly rushing the corpse before…

Fusing with it.

"Fuck"

The beast's Sulfurfish exterior opened up, pushing out the charred remains that had a vague human look to it, seizing the fresh corpse as its own. One Sulfurfish stuffed itself into the skull, tearing the brain to make space, the rest went into the mouth and moved themselves into the muscle.

Their heat charred the skin, producing a foal smell as more Sulfurfish surrounded the exterior as a form of armour, acting as a second set of muscle, from the back of its head, multiple stingers hanged limply—a mockery of hair.

His stomach churned as he had to look away, for as experienced as he was, not even he could handle that sight.

The sight of the Grimm…

That he was fighting…

"Shit!—"

He felt the heat before the punch, felt how his skin tightened as it overwhelmed his Aura's temperature regulation, felt how his skin coiled in a boil as the bone felt soft. How his brain lagged as the heat ravaged through his skull, how the saliva in his mouth evaporated and—

Boom!!

"Talc!!"

A shriek filled the night sky.

"..."

Everything felt…

Cold?

No, no. It was more of an in between lukewarm and chilly, but it certainly felt wrong. He didn't even realize he had his eyes open until he had to blink, the red under his eyelids reminded him of the past ten seconds. The heat must've dried up his eyes, it took a while to finally get himself to stop blinking but with the added clarity came the pain.

Wincing at the flexing and stretching of his face was only a continuous cycle of pain that he wanted to stop. A stray thought passed his mind over how he at least didn't have to worry about scaring with his level of Aura efficiency but it was quickly dismissed. Just things like scaring didn't matter if he died here.

Clenching his fist, he slammed it onto his face, popping the blisters as Aura settled on the wounds to accelerate the healing process.

"Let's get to business"

His legs were fine, most of the heat traveled through the upper half of his body, making standing up a trivial matter if not the slight shake in his arms. Aura rapidly restored his vitality, allowing him to better see his surroundings.

It was a rather nice looking house; toys strewn about, food still hot on the stove. It was clear to him that the inhabitants left in a rush, he could only hope they made it far. There was nothing else to see as most was obscured by the debris, leading his eyes to the gaping hole in the wall.

"Tch." he nearly grumbled, he didn't like crashing through walls, even if it was only reinforced mud, it still felt like crashing into stone.

The Sulfurfish combination was still sunken in sand, if he didn't act fast, Opal would be overwhelmed. If only they had someone to take her place so that she could concentrate enough firepower to kill all the Grimm.

"Damn kiddo not here when ya need them." Taking off, Aura flowed through his legs, reaching the Grimm in no time for a perfect jab.

Crack!

Its forearm fell to the ground with a hiss, its glowing eye brightened as if shocked. But that moment of inactivity was all Talc needed to send a barrage of punches at its eye, the ground quivered slightly.

Taking a step back, a wall of sand rose between him and the Grimm, giving him time to reposition himself.

Opal had stationed herself on the only two story building, overlooking the whole mess.

She had it hardest, sweeping and crushing waves of Sulfurfish, preventing them from congregating and merging. Her attention needed to be split evenly throughout all of the townsquare, if not for her, more civilians would've been dead.

A far more mentally taxing task than physical, though that didn't discount the toll it placed upon her Aura. expending Aura at the same rate as a waterfall, he didn't envy her plight in the slightest.

Crack!

The Grimm busted through the wall, immediately being met with a foot to the face. He had never seen a Sulfurfish combination like this, it could very well be a new form, a combination D. truly abhorrent, combining Grimm and human, such a phenomenon shouldn't have been possible but the beast somehow did it.

It growled as it threw a wild haymaker, ducking under it with a breeze tussling his hair as he reinforced his foot to strike its knee. A hairline fracture formed on its marrow plating as he felt heat from behind him.

That didn't make sense, he had the combination D in sight unless—

BOOM!

It was only his experience and reaction time that let him escape the boulder grip of a combination A Sulfurfish. It was also vaguely human shaped but more of a wrecking ball.

Had he been even a little slow, it would've crushed him. If he had been faster, he could've gotten out of there unscathed but his blistered arms protested as he clenched his hands.

Being saved from having to fight by a tendril of sand wrapping around his hip, the combination D tried to back him but a kick to its knee caused it to waver just long enough to be pulled away.

The less coordinated of the two, slammed its wrecking ball of an arm into the ground, missing completely but nearly crushing its ally.

It was odd to see Grimm glare at each other.

"This hurts like a false oasis, thanks for the save Opal!" barking out a grunt as he landed, raising the Aura flow through his hands to grow slightly sharp at the tips, claws no more than two millimeters from his nails.

"Got any plan to deal with these freaks? I'm in no position to charge up!" Opal cried out from above, saving a family of four that ran through an alleyway towards the evac zone, being led by sand as she drowned a huddle of Sulfurfish, waving her hands in a rhyme only understood by her and the sand she commanded.

"Yeah, one, make me a bomb. A red one." A toothy smile spread across his lips as a pair of the pair of abominations ran at him, neither noticing the patch of gold behind them.

"blast away!"

The effect was immediate, the slimmer of the two —the cursed impossibility— was blasted away while the bigger one was completely unaffected, instead it turned towards the kiddo.

"Stupid." Talc muttered as he rushed the Combination A, the kiddo had presented the perfect opportunity. Striking at the back of its knee, it fell to the side as the stingers that acted as thighs were severed, ducking under its wild swinging.

He could hear the kiddo shooting at its eyes, she nearly hit him instead.

Not giving it time to get an actual attack, it probably didn't even know it died, popping like a balloon as he crushed the core, releasing a cloud of filthy smoke.

"Ya did'a good job kiddo, think ya can do that again?" He seriously wondered if she could even speak, she looked to be in a lot of pain as she rubbed her throat, it would be best to not show concern.

'I'll be fine, just give me a minute to breathe." she rasped out as she took a swig of throat medicine. She wiped her tears as her face grew less scrouged, the sand squivered to his right.

It was Opal.

The ends of her robes were frayed, her hair was to her skin, eyes vacant from mental exhaustion, "and one remains, I hope this plan of yours works. For as insane as it is." she muttered the last part to herself, he didn't catch it, sighing as she leaned on Talc's shoulder.

"Of course it'll work, otherwise we're dead, hey kiddo, what can your Semblance do?" the girl jumped as both of their attention was directed at her, she fidgeted a little before speaking, Opal seemed to find the girl amusing.

"Oh, uhh. My Semblance is called Ordain, I can command people to follow any law I set—it doesn't work on Grimm… or it shouldn't, I don't know why it does on that one." Jade's mouth moved a mile a minute, seeming to scrape her mind for every piece of knowledge over her own Semblance, her stammering was quite amusing.

He already knew everything she was saying, his eyes let him read it just from seeing her use it, the information wasn't for him.

"Alright, let our victory shine true." Talc grumbled muttering of annoyance over his overly poetic sister, he knew the exact page she stole that from.

Broads cracked under the weight of the Sulfurfish, walking out of the town square, its eyes looked… mad.

Its glaring eye perturbed him, swallowing down the notch in his throat—it had to work, there was simply no other way.

Sand wrapped around the Grimm's legs, hardened and crystallized into crude glass that shattered immediately but it bought Talc and Jade an opportunity to get in range.

Going left, the kiddo went high, swinging her red hammers at its face, the naivety of a child. It raised its forearm to deflect her hammers as he settled for a strike at its liver before he pulled the kiddo away before she was speared by the Grimm's other arm.

Click!

The mandibles in its arm snapped as it fell to its knee, holding its side. It pounced at him, he couldn't even step back as it accelerated at an inhuman speed—

"Grimm can only attack those older than themselves" the Sulfurfish Combination D rolled away from him, staring at its own hands. Hopefully considering leaving the human model it inhabited, hopefully…

He could see it, the way Aura seeped from the kiddo to the Aura in the Grimm's body, like shackles, her ordains constrained depending on her definition of the constraints and not the literal definition but that was pure speculation on his part. It didn't make her Semblance any less cool, before he could go off on a ramble, the sand in the entire square quivered and quaked minutely.

Grabbing the kid by the cloak, flooding his legs to throw both of them back.

"!!!"

Using his Semblance to push his Aura's defensive quantity to the limit, time slowed in the monochrome world, sand cocooning around him and the kiddo as the sand on the ground inflated like a balloon. Even with the cocoon, the heat wave crystallizes the sand as more sand is layered upon the crystalized sand in a feeble attempt to keep the heat from breaking through.

He helped by using his Aura to make the sand stronger, he felt his consciousness wavered.

Everything hurt, from his skin to his rattled bones, his ears rung like fireflies in the wind. He could feel the glass press against his skin, scowling at the dryness of his eyes.

For as brilliant as Aura was, giving them the strength to push back against the darkness with their overwhelming brilliance, it sadly didn't help against soothing pain.

Breaking out of the glass, the kiddo was out like a light even though he used his body to protect her, his face was itchy with pain—hopefully his arms weren't fully charred.

"Are you alright, little brother?" he didn't know if she was actually concerned or mocking him, too tired to think, looking over his shoulder.

The relative area of the Grimm was covered in an oddly coloured smoke, the ground cratered with crude glass from the flash heat.

"Thanks for the protection Opal, almost got deep fried there." laughing softening at the prospect in lieu of the danger, a groan from below stopped his laughter. The bundle of yellow shifted as wolf ears popped from the head, golden eyes blinked slowly as she regained consciousness. When she was fully aware of her surroundings, she let herself flop back down with a sigh.

"I feel like crap…" she moaned out before yelping as Opal used sand to raise the two—grumbing as he had just sat down, it didn't surprise him as he saw her Aura move before her Semblance spread out. Getting a better look at his sister, she wasn't holding up too well—far too pale.

Blinking as something wet and sappy dripping from his ears made some internal damage known, he hadn't even noticed his Aura automatically boosting his ears to make up for the damage.

"Take it easy Opal, yar at yer limit here." she practically fell onto his shoulder, his knees nearly buckled under her weight.

She was exhausted.

"I want something sweet, hell, make it cold…" Opal muttered more to herself than to him, having overused her Aura and maintaining a constant state of elevated concentration must've burned her mind to mush.

"That was awesome.." Jade mumbled softly, her eyes trailing the sand, a clear look of awe in her eyes, he remembered when his sister first—nope, not thinking about that.

Rumble…! Rumble…!

Lowering his center of gravity, keeping him and his sister from falling—a yelp to his right told him the kiddo wasn't so lucky. His hands had a thin layer of sweat, ice cold, Aura compressed into his core as he waited.

"Please, let it not be a sinkhole." he muttered to himself, feeling the way his sister tensed, he wished he kept that thought to himself.

"Why can't it be over!" Jade yelped in more exasperation than fear, spitting out sand as she scrambled to stand. Her face paled, eyes dilated—centered on the rising black mass from the crater.

It was missing its right arm, half of its horrid face was marred beyond recognition, showing the human below. Charred to the bone, skin dyed the bone yet the eye remained, not yet fully cooked under the oppressive heat.

It was still alive.

stomp!

Its chest bloated as it inhaled deeply, his face hardened for the first time in his life wishing he had a long ranged weapon to stop it before—

It screamed, and screamed. Managing to protect his own and his sister's ears, brittle glass shattered under the intense sound waves.

"don't shout!"The kiddo's quick thinking saved them from having to bare the scream any longer, it wasn't without consequences—her tiny frame fell onto the ground as she coughed blood.

The Grimm's throat exploded as its own body fought against the Ordain imposed upon it.

Burt!

Boils on its body exploded as it clawed at its throat and eyes before a yellow foam gurgled from its mouth—

Thud…

It fell.

"How-why did it… is it dead?" voicing her confusion past the blood that dribbled down her mouth, her hand reached for one of the many folds of her cloak, she blinked as she looked at her hand, empty. Growling, her hand weaved through more of her cloak, eventually sighing as she didn't find whatever she was looking for.

"Heh, sulfur gas is an extremely toxic gas corroding and melting most materials, that includes the lungs of Grimm. Now, let's go before it reaches us." Opal tapped weakly at his arm, she was annoyed with how smug he was. Lifting her, he directed the kiddo in the direction towards the evac.

They weren't looking so hot' he wasn't holding up so well—his Aura was roughly in the orange. Opal wasn't much better—mentally exhausted and neither was the kiddo—throat busted.

Opal tapped at his shoulder again.

"Where are the other Sulfurfish, shouldn't that screaming have attracted more…?" even she sounded confused over what she was saying, her heart had yet to calm as her breath remained erratic, her face was scrunched up like an old grape.

Opal tapped his shoulder once more.

"..."

Taking his silence as either a sign of approval or to continue, she took a breath, looking more confident. "Sulfurfish usually travel in schools of 30 to 50, but this was more like a super school…" left unsaid was how strange it was that only Sulfurfish attacked, they were usually more of the skitterish Grimm, usually trailing larger and stronger Grimm due to their small stature.

Opal's tapping pressed harder into his shoulder, almost… maniac.

She pulled herself closer to his ear as she glared at him from his peripherals. "There's something… under us." Opal's eyes weren't focused on him, no… her mind held the ground solid.

Aura flooded his body, pulling the kiddo close, he encased them all in a barrier of pure Aura.

No sooner did a blinding light burn his eyes—

Pulling on his hair, "there's something… under us." Opal faltered into his ear.

Aura flooded from his body, pulling Jade in as he hardened it into a barrier.

No sooner did a blinding light burn his eyes—

BOOM!

***

A soft breeze blew past him, slightly frigid in the way only the winter times of Vacuo could get but with it came a pungent smell, bitter like a brew of stale coffee. His face crinkled as the scent wafted over him, nose flaring as he turned away, the winds stung with gelid.

His eyes fell back onto the survivors who made it to the impromptu evacuation sight, though he knew it meant little without anyone strong enough to protect them.

Sitting ducks.

His jaw ached as he scowled, these people have forced him to talk so much, just a hassle to keep them all alive, had he been alone, he wouldn't have bothered with them. But no, his family had to be oh so courageous and had to fight for these nobodies.

"It's never been this clean before…" Culate's eyes bore into the behemoth of a man next to him, he was as talkative as he was massive. An old war veteran that could be found in specific Vacuan history books, a local legend past his prime.

A washed up "legend".

"Something must be drawing the Grimm away Grad." The towering man glowered, not that he cared to understand such a simple minded fool, it was best not to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Shaking his head lest just dull thoughts pervert his radical mind, perking up as he hears the footfalls of someone light.

A gaunt, blonde, man whose skin shined in a strange and unnatural manner under the dim moonlight. Possibly some strange reptile faunus. The fellow was sweaty and out of breath, so weak were his legs that a simple breeze would've sent him tumbling, why did he look so scared?

Wait… Culate recognized him from somewhere…?

Ah, it was one of the few Semblance holders within Mica's borders… they didn't even have a fence up as protection so that didn't feel too accurate, a shiny leaf was still a leaf. The man's name alluded, "what are you in such dread?" Culate almost chuckled at how the man flinched, his heart soared as he saw the man's eyes quiver, flapping his mouth unintelligible.

Such power

"Sir! A sand storm—a sand storm is coming!" Culate blinked, the man's accent too thick to decipher what he was trying to say, looking towards Grad for a translation, no luck.

"From where?"

"North… North East!"

Nose flaring at their disrespect, a glare set the old fool straight. Humming as he was told the situation, hand covering his mouth as he hummed to feel his skin reverberate. A nervous tick that he just failed to break.

Eyes swept across the crowd negative; children weeped clutching their mothers, men hugged their wives, and mothers clutched their children with trembling arms. There were those who had no one; children wandering around for parents who weren't there, mothers clutching memorabilia, and men with eyes that held the sky.

His family called upon him to keep these people, it wasn't like he was a bad person so he tried his best but only three quarters were here and out of those only a third were in any condition to move.

"Get me all the sanddrifters, we need to—" Grad's bellowing was cut off by the trembling of the ground, Culate's eyes widened as he sank ankle deep in the sand.

The vibrations all centered from the village.

Squinting his eyes, a faint pulse of his seventh sense woven into his mind by his Semblance whispered the locations of all body's vacant of souls.

"Not here…"

Where were they?

Violently ripped from the body he was seeing through, a shockwave threw him off his feet, plums of sand, shards, and sulfur whipped his face, from the place where his family should've been.

"No no no no no—No!"

He won't let them die, he couldn't!

The stars were swallowed by a creature of overwhelming darkness, his neck ached as he tried to merely catch sight of its head, a head that covered the shattered moon.

No… it couldn't be happening again.

Its massive body was serpentine in shape, coiled around the carcass of what once was a sizable village, the debris that rose from every subtle shift stirred the air—shrouding its complete body.

Its eyes that could crush three humans in a blink peppered its entire body, leaving a red glow that glazed the village, laying a vague outline of its massive form. It held no blind spots, no weakness to exploit, only…

Death.

The ground bent and collapsed under its immense weight—burning and cystalising before shattering and melting again in continuum. Echoing the horrors of trapped souls, the gaunt man fell to the ground as his ears burst. The behemoth craned its massive head to the town center.

Where his family should be…

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Every coil and slither of its body generated a heat wave that released more shrieks from the land.

"Damn it! Get the injured on board! Head west, head west damn it!" the grizzly man shook like a leaf, wasting no time to run away. He… couldn't deny the urge to run, to save himself the wrath of that demon, so he didn't.

With a huff, he turned towards the gentle roars of Gravity Dust powering to life, these people were such a hassle.

He didn't look back, no, he couldn't lest he lose the last morsel of self preservation in him.

"Be death upon us."

Hello again, useless here. This chapter came out quite early, won't you agree? Don't expect this as my college is starting to ramp up so I'll have less time to edit the next chapter.

I don't have much to say this time, but I had some fun writing Culate and Grad is finally introduced after he was cut from chapter 6. I was in the library when I saw a book for joan d'arc and thought about how Jade became the woman she is today.

No Jaune this chapter, no that's next chapter but what did you think? New never before seen Grimm have finally reared their ugly heads in. no beta's this chapter, all me again.

Lore time! For as strong as Aura is at protecting the body, Gravity Dust (the force behind it) cannot be stopped.

This has been Useless, out.
