The guest room had already been cleaned by Hayakawa Masami.
A set of new bedding had been laid out.
"You can sleep here for the night."
Hayakawa Masami said.
Hayato glanced around the room and nodded with satisfaction.
He looked at Hayakawa Masami with a smile, who left as if fleeing.
Looking at her flustered expression, it was as if she was afraid he would do something excessive again.
"Am I that scary?"
Hayato muttered softly, shook his head, and lay down on the bed.
What a perfect and fulfilling day.
Lying on the bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.
When he closed his eyes, his mind was filled with those pale white images.
Feeling the Buddha Law that had not yet subsided within him, and the increasingly restless desire.
Hayato couldn't help but sigh.
Although cultivating Happy Buddha Dharma could increase magic power, this side effect was indeed a headache.
The deeper the understanding of Buddha Law, the stronger the desire in one's heart.
This was the essence of Happy Buddha Dharma.
To push one's desires to the extreme.
Then, to transcend worldly desires and reach a state of using desire to curb desire.
Simply put, it means allowing an ordinary person to indulge in pleasure, enjoying the many joys of the world.
To live a life like an emperor.
When the pleasure he experiences surpasses everything in the world,
and he looks back at his past pleasures, he will no longer feel the slightest interest.
If a beggar gets used to an emperor's life, would he still yearn for his former life as a beggar?
Happy Buddha Dharma, in essence, is to continuously raise his upper threshold for carnal desires.
Before he steps into that realm, every breakthrough is like dancing on a tightrope.
Either he vents his desires and then restrains them,
or he sinks into his desires and falls into depravity, becoming a demon.
Until he completely breaks free from the shackles of desire, reaching the awakened state of severing emotions and cutting off love.
By then, all worldly desires will be nothing but fleeting clouds to him.
Like a dream, an illusion, a bubble, gone in an instant.
They will no longer be able to stir his heartstrings.
To attain Buddhahood in terms of mental state, and then gain supreme power, achieving the fruit of a Buddha.
However, reaching this state is extremely difficult.
After all, it's like raising one's realm first, and then cultivating magical power.
And the mental state is the most difficult thing to cultivate.
If he really had such a mental state and comprehension, why would he cultivate Happy Buddha Dharma?
He could cultivate any Buddha Law and still achieve Buddhahood.
Therefore, Happy Buddha Dharma is said to be an ingenious shortcut, but in reality, it's completely putting the cart before the horse.
Hayato felt that perhaps even when he becomes a Buddha, he might not be able to cultivate this Happy Buddha Dharma to the state of awakening.
This Buddha Law is just for fun.
To truly achieve Buddhahood and enlightenment, traditional Buddhist cultivation methods like Bhaisajyaguru Sutra are more promising.
Unable to sleep anyway, Hayato took out his phone and glanced at it.
He found that it was already past 12 o'clock.
"The number of enhancements should have refreshed, right?"
Hayato sat up directly from the bed.
Gently stroking his chin, he pondered his next enhancement.
For the same type of enhancement, the more times it's enhanced, the greater the chance of failure.
Therefore, the first choice, of course, are those things that have not yet been enhanced.
External objects are, after all, just external objects.
So, if possible, what he most wanted to enhance was himself.
After only enhancing his muscles and bones once, his combat power had at least leaped by a level.
If he could enhance his entire body, he wouldn't dare to imagine what level his strength would reach.
By then, he would probably stand at the pinnacle of mortals.
His physical body alone would be able to rival extraordinary existences.
Comparable to the Impeccable Vajra of Buddhism.
After a moment of thought, Hayato decided to start with his head.
In Buddhism, there is a saying of the six consciousnesses.
They correspond to the eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind.
Namely, visual, auditory, olfactory, gustatory, tactile, and mental consciousness.
His eyes and ears had both been enhanced once.
His nose, tongue, body, and mind had not yet been enhanced.
Therefore, Hayato decided to start with the four consciousnesses that had not yet been enhanced.
The first to be enhanced was naturally the nose.
Compared to the complex body and mental consciousnesses, simple senses like olfactory and gustatory consciousnesses naturally have a higher chance of successful enhancement.
As a ray of enhancement light fell, Hayato instantly felt as if his nose had undergone some kind of transformation.
Countless pungent and unpleasant odors surged in from all around.
He could even clearly smell the scent of every corner of the entire room, even through the obstruction of doors and windows.
These smells were not mixed together.
Instead, they were distinct, thread by thread, clearly organized.
He could even clearly distinguish the source of each scent.
This sense of smell was ten times more sensitive than a dog's.
However, if the olfactory consciousness were always on, it would be quite a headache.
It felt like being in a landfill all the time.
Hayato controlled his sense of smell, and the pungent odor gradually faded.
Although still more acute than usual, it was at least acceptable.
The first enhancement was a direct success, a good start.
Next was the gustatory consciousness.
Olfactory consciousness represents the sense of smell, and gustatory consciousness is naturally the sense of taste.
Although not of much use, Buddhist cultivation pursues completeness.
Thinking of this, Hayato casually performed an enhancement, enhancing his gustatory consciousness.
The light flashed and disappeared; the first enhancement failed.
Hayato didn't take it to heart; after all, his luck wasn't always this good.
As long as the second enhancement succeeded, that would be fine.
"~Enhance!"
The last enhancement opportunity was used up, and as expected, it succeeded directly.
The change in gustatory consciousness was not as obvious as that of olfactory consciousness.
It felt like a layer of grime had been brushed off his tongue, awakening a deeper sense of taste.
"A faint smell of beer, and the lingering taste of barbecue..."
Hayato raised an eyebrow.
He had just brushed his teeth, so his mouth should have been clean.
But now, his taste buds were enhanced several times over.
From the lingering food residue, he could clearly recall the taste of his dinner.
With such a tongue, even if he didn't become a monk, he could become a food critic and earn a fortune.
After three enhancements, Hayato was quite satisfied.
Although his combat power hadn't increased much, at least two enhancements were successful.
Sitting cross-legged on the bed.
The scriptures of the Diamond Sutra and the Bhaisajyaguru Sutra appeared in his mind.
After a night of cultivation, although there were no further insights, his magical power increased by a few more wisps.
"Almost there!"
Hayato slowly opened his eyes.
Feeling the magical power flowing within him, he muttered softly.
His magical power was only a few wisps short of reaching one hundred wisps; he wondered if there would be any special changes.
A night passed.
Hayakawa Masami was preparing breakfast.
Hayakawa Shunsuke, waking up from a hangover, got out of bed.
His throat felt like it was on fire, dry and sore.
He quickly poured a glass of water, and after drinking it, he felt much better.
After a quick wash, he came to the living room.
He saw his wife busy in the kitchen.
"Masami, why did you prepare breakfast for four people?"
Sitting at the dining table, picking up the newspaper, his peripheral vision suddenly caught sight of four plates on the table.
Hayakawa Shunsuke couldn't help but ask curiously,
There were only three people in the family; what was this extra plate for?
"It's for the Master."
Hayakawa Masami heard the movement, looked back, and explained softly.
"Master?"
Looking at her confused husband, Hayakawa Masami felt a bit helpless.
"You drank so much yesterday, Master brought us back. It was too late then, so we could only let Master stay at our place."
"Even yesterday's expenses were paid by Master."
Hearing this, Hayakawa Shunsuke couldn't help but scratch his head, his face full of embarrassment.
"How could this be? I invited him to express gratitude, yet I ended up making him pay."
"Who told you to drink so much yesterday?"
Hearing this, Hayakawa Masami shook her head.
Suddenly remembering something, her face turned red again.
Speaking of which, it wasn't as if there was no gratitude.
After all, she was quite worn out last night.
Preoccupied with thoughts, she didn't sleep well all night, and dark circles appeared wildly.
It could also be considered repayment for Hayato's kindness.
