Chapter 206 - Chapter 205 I'm Looking For A Capable Employee

"Really?" Sally's face lit up, but she was only met with the ringing of a bell as the restaurant door closed.

Looking at the closed door, Sally opened her mouth, feeling a strange sense of absurdity. With her status and appearance, she had never before been ignored and disregarded by a man like this.

However, when she thought of the delicious food that Mai Ge made and his calm expression when he refused the two great mages' request for another serving of tofu pudding, she felt that it was quite reasonable. If a genius were the same as an ordinary person, then he wouldn't be a genius.

Mai Ge didn't think much of it. Regardless of Sally's background, since she was there to apply for a job, he would treat her the same as everyone else.

"Boss, do you need my help?" As Yabemia was finishing the last step of drying the floor, she saw Mai Ge carrying a bicycle in and quickly put down the dry mop in her hand.

"No need, you can continue. There's someone outside who wants to apply for a job." Mai Ge shook his head with a smile. Now that he had recovered, lifting a carbon fiber bicycle was a piece of cake.

"Applying for a job?" Yabemia was somewhat surprised, not expecting someone to come so soon. She wondered who she would be working with.

Sally straightened her long dress, looked at the wooden door, took a deep breath, reached out and grasped the doorknob, gently pushing it inward. The bell hanging on the door tinkled softly.

Yabemia turned to look at the doorway. Although it was backlit, but she could still clearly see Sally standing there, and her mouth involuntarily agape.

Sally, dressed in a light silver dress, seemed to be draped in a hazy yet dazzling radiance. Her delicate, pointed ears appeared almost transparent in the light. Her exquisite face and pale blue eyes exuded elegance and nobility, like a goddess descended from heaven.

This seemingly innate aura made Yabemia feel somewhat inferior and envious.

Sally also looked at Yabemia, her features were delicate and lovely, with a pair of cute little dragon horns on her head, and her pair of golden and black eyes looked quite peculiar.

Sally's gaze couldn't help but linger on her chest for a moment, looking at the maid outfit that was perfectly stretched out, and she suddenly felt a little envious. She didn't know if she was envious of the fullness of her breasts, or if she was envious of the fact that she could work at the Restaurant Mai Mi and eat all kinds of delicious food after wearing this uniform.

Or perhaps... both?

The two stood facing each other, envying one another.

"Gu...guest, we're closed, you..." Yabemia was the first to recover, quickly hiding the mop behind her back, a little embarrassed.

"Have some water first. The restaurant gets very busy during mealtimes, so there are some things I need to explain to you first." Mai Ge brought out two glasses of water, handing one to Yabemia and gently placing the other on a table beside him, nodding to Sally.

"Hmm." Sally's expression quickly calmed down. She walked to the table and sat down. She glanced at the clear crystal glass on the table, but instead of drinking the water, she sat upright and waited for Mai Ge to speak. Under the table, her hands were clasped together.

"She…she…" Yabemia's water glass wobbled slightly as she stared at Sally in disbelief.

"Yes, she's the one who came for the job interview today." Mai Ge smiled and nodded, he had also been a little startled by Sally's words.

"Hello." Yabemia, realizing her lapse in composure, quickly nodded to Sally, her water glass wobbling and spilling some water onto the floor.

"Hello." Sally replied with a slight nod.

"Mia, have some water first, then finish up." Mai Ge said gently, unsure why Yabemia was so nervous.

"Okay, Boss." Yabemia nodded, took a couple of sips of water, and then continued mopping the floor with the dry mop.

"Here's the thing, the restaurant is getting busier and busier, and Mia can't handle it all by herself, so I'm planning to hire another waitress to share some of her workload." Mai Ge pulled up a chair and sat down opposite Sally, looking her in the eye as he continued, "The duties of a waitress include: taking orders, serving food, clearing tables, collecting money, and cleaning the restaurant after guests leave. How many of these duties do you think you can handle? I'm looking for a capable employee, not just a pretty face."

As Sally listened to Mai Ge's words, her surprise deepened. She couldn't help but point at Yabemia and ask, "Before this, did she do all of these things by herself?"

"Yes." Mai Ge nodded, then, realizing he sounded a bit like a capitalist exploiting his employees, added, "Mia is a good employee."

"Indeed." Sally nodded in agreement. Taking orders and serving so many customers, while simultaneously clearing tables and ensuring the order and dishes for each customer were perfect, required an incredible talent, she felt she could never do it.

A smile spread across Yabemia's face as she mopped the floor, and her movements quickened.

Mai Ge watched Sally quietly, waiting for her to offer her self-assessment.

"She's better at taking orders and serving food than anyone else." Sally glanced at Yabemia with some admiration, then looked at Mai Ge sincerely and said, "I think I could try collecting money from customers and clearing tables, and I could even take over all the cleaning work in the restaurant."

"How's your math?" Mai Ge asked curiously.

"I can remember the entire multiplication table." Sally replied confidently.

"Okay, let's test it now." Mai Ge got up and walked towards the kitchen. A moment later, he came out carrying a large stack of plates and bowls. There were one to four bowls and plates on each table, and some tables also had bags of Rou Jia Mo.

"The first table is the one on the far left from the door. The order is vertical, from 1 to 16. I'll randomly pick a few tables for testing. You need to quickly settle the bill based on the plates and bowls on the table, and at the same time clear the table. Can you do that?" Mai Ge put the last plate on the table and looked at Sally, who had also stood up, and said.

"I will do my best." Sally nodded, trying to appear calm, but her eyes betrayed her nervousness.

Yabemia stood by the door, holding a mop. Looking at this somewhat familiar scene, she looked at Mai Ge with some surprise. She had also passed a similar test to become a waitress in the restaurant. She had thought that with Sally's looks and temperament, Mai Ge would hire her directly. Unexpectedly, the test still required ability to decide whether to hire her.

"Tables 3, 8, 15, 6, and 11, check out and clear those tables in that order. You have five minutes." Mai Ge said, gently placing the tray he was carrying on the table beside him and glancing at his watch.
