This was an answer that probably crossed everyone's mind, but no one dared to actually say aloud.
These are two great mages of level nine or above, one a royal honored mage and the other a mysterious dark mage. Judging from their previous actions and conversations, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say they are irreconcilable enemies. Unexpectedly, Amy proposed to learn from both of them without much thought.
Crassus and Yulian were also taken aback, but surprisingly, neither of them rushed to refute or refuse. They exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with a complex expression.
Twenty years ago, that elven girl clapped her hands and said the same thing. Then the two of them fought for almost a year, neither of them able to convince the other. Before they could determine a winner, the girl was taken away first.
Although no one said anything afterward, it is undeniable that this was probably one of the things they regretted the most, because neither of them was her master, so in the end, even their attempt to stop her from being taken away seemed illegitimate.
"I think this is great! I can learn Grandpa Half Beard's flying magic, and I can learn Grandpa Turtle Shell's magic to summon giant dragons. That way, Little Amy will definitely be super powerful in the future!" Amy clapped her hands, speaking with a hopeful expression, her little face full of a happy smile.
"Actually, I think learning just one spell is enough. As long as you can master my magic, you can smash giant dragons' heads at will. You won't need any other extra spells. The only additional spell you need to learn is Fireball. For a giant dragon like that, one Fireball can bring it down from the sky." Crassus tried to persuade her.
"It's not very elegant for a girl to fly around in the sky with a big staff. If you learn my magic, it doesn't matter if you're wearing a skirt. They won't even be able to touch the hem of your clothes. How elegant! That's how a girl should be." Yulian said, trying to soften his voice.
Mai Ge's lips curled up slightly. He saw the possibility of compromise on Yulian and Crassus's faces. Sure enough, it was most appropriate for Amy to bring up this matter herself. Moreover, both of them were indeed interested in taking Amy as their apprentice. If Amy could mediate the conflict between the two, it would be a good thing. After all, at their age, they probably didn't have many old friends left in the world.
"I just want to learn both, please..." Amy shook her head, looking at the two of them with her big, watery eyes, and said softly.
Crassus and Yulian looked at Amy and suddenly felt a pang of tenderness in their hearts. In a daze, they seemed to see again that usually sharp-tongued little elf girl who, when she acted cute, made you feel that you could say whatever you wanted.
Amy was just a little younger, and equally witty and cute. When they were looked at by her with that kind of gaze, they couldn't even muster the slightest thought of refusing, and nodded as if possessed.
"Really? Grandpa Turtle Shell, Grandpa Half Beard, you really agreed to teach me magic together?" Amy's eyes lit up instantly. She hugged Mai Ge's face and kissed him, saying happily, "Daddy, I have two masters now! Masters who can teach Amy magic!"
"I…" Crassus finally realized he had nodded and opened his mouth to say something.
"Hello, Master Half Beard." Amy turned and called out to Crassus in a clear voice.
Crassus paused, looking at the smile on Amy's face. He swallowed the rest of his words, his lips twitched, and he forced a smile, nodding in agreement, "Okay."
"But…" Yulian raised an eyebrow.
"Hello, Master Turtle Shell." Amy turned to Yulian and said, then, after thinking for a moment, smiled and added, "In that case, can I play with Green Bean and Black Charcoal everyday?"
Yulian looked at the smiling Amy, his expression hesitant for a moment, before nodding and saying in a slightly hoarse voice, "Yes."
"Great! So happy!" Amy clapped her hands, her eyes sparkling with anticipation and excitement. She could fly by herself after learning Grandpa Half Beard's magic, and she could make it snow and conjure up a giant dragon after learning Grandpa Turtle Shell's magic. It was all so interesting and fun!
"So, did they agree?" The onlookers didn't dare to make a sound from beginning to end. They never expected that the two great mages who were fighting so fiercely would suddenly become the masters of the same little girl, who was also a half-elf girl, who seemed to be the daughter of the restaurant owner.
"Boss Mai, what do you think about this?" Crassus turned to Mai Ge, who had remained silent until now. Mai Ge was the decisive figure in this matter.
"I respect Amy's choice. It's undeniable that you are both powerful mages. However, I hope that you can keep the promise you made in the restaurant. This is my only condition." Mai Ge looked at the two of them seriously and said. His only requirement actually contained many other conditions.
"Cunning old fox!" Yulian and Crassus looked at Mai Ge, and the three words flashed through their minds at the same time. Those were the conditions they had set when they were competing with each other. Now that he had agreed to let the two of them take on apprentices at the same time, Mai Ge actually wanted them to follow those conditions. He had really taken the nature of a businessman to the extreme.
Judging from Mai Ge's expression, there was absolutely no room for negotiation. Having a talented and adorable daughter certainly allowed him to do whatever he wanted.
"Although I dislike that my apprentice has another master, but I respect her choice. It's a pity her judgment is a bit poor. Starting tomorrow, she'll learn from you for three days, from me for three days, and rest for one day. I agree to all the conditions I mentioned before." Yulian raised his hand, and the remaining ice statues shattered instantly. He slowly walked out from the corner, looking at Crassus coldly and saying, "Also, savory tofu pudding is the best."
"If it wasn't for Amy wanting to learn your fancy stuff, do you think I'd be willing to teach the same apprentice as you? Three days is fine, the time will be according to the restaurant's break time. I've also agreed to the conditions I mentioned before." Crassus also extinguished the flames on his mage's staff, pointing it diagonally at Yulian, and said seriously, "Sweet tofu pudding is the best. If you're not convinced, come and fight me anytime."
Mai Ge smiled and put Amy down, glanced at the clock in the restaurant, and nodded to the two of them, saying, "Alright, in that case, Amy's classes will start tomorrow. The restaurant is open now. If you two would like to have a meal, you can have breakfast before you leave."
"Two servings of Yang Zhou Fried Rice, and hmm, I can add a Rou Jia Mo today." Crassus walked into the restaurant first.
"One for each." Yulian thought for a moment while watching Crassus's back, then said, and also walked into the restaurant.
"Captain, what do we do now?" A member of the Gray Temple whispered to Bazel. Because the battle lasted for a short time, the square was not badly damaged and there were no casualties. Only two small trees were affected by the battle, and the damage was not as great as the fight between the two orcs two days ago.
"Report the situation up, but don't rush to ask questions. If I'm not mistaken, that white-robed mage is a big shot." Bazel gave Mai Ge a deep look and lowered his voice. This restaurant owner is no ordinary person.
