All I want to do is walk into my familiar bedroom, play a few video games, read a comic or two, or maybe even re-watch an episode of Battlestar Galactica. Is that too much to hope for?
Unfortunately, I'm afraid it is, for there's a sock on the doorknob. I'm a bit surprised by that, as Dennis and Rose haven't been too shy in the past, and haven't cared when Tina and I watched them. For a minute or two, I stand there, debating whether to walk in anyway, but decide that valor is the better part of discretion, and walk back down to my car.
It's New Year's Eve, and my usual tradition is to stay up late playing video games before going to bed the next morning. I've rarely had dates in the past. Since I don't know how long my roommate will take and gaming is on my mind, I decide to call Stephanie.
"Nick? I'm so glad you called! When are you getting back?" She sounds breathless on the other end of the phone as she excitedly talks to me.
