Chapter 78 - Chapter 78: Storming the Enemy Camp

Outside the New Cloud Building, Rias led the group as they teleported to the location.

This was a towering structure over two hundred meters tall, covering a vast area and serving as a major hub of foot traffic. Inside were entertainment venues, restaurants, and all kinds of facilities.

If the Fallen Angels really had some kind of secret hidden here, then once things kicked off, it would definitely turn into a huge scene…

"I never expected a Fallen Angel secret base to be this close to our school. This really is hiding in plain sight,"

Rias said softly with a sigh. If the Devil King hadn't sent people to investigate this place, it would've been very difficult for her current intelligence network to discover it.

"There's a nasty smell…"

Koneko muttered.

"Are we really just going straight in like this?"

Asia looked at the bustling crowd entering and exiting the building, worry evident on her face.

She was afraid that if a battle broke out later, these innocent people would get caught up in it.

"I've already had Samuel make arrangements. Once anything happens, magic will immediately be activated to evacuate everyone,"

Rias said confidently, elegantly flicking her long hair aside.

"Let's go straight in. I'd like to see exactly what they're up to."

She appeared calm yet domineering—her mature presence unmistakable. Anyone at school who saw her would instinctively feel a cold elegance and authority radiating from her.

As a devil servant holding both the Knight and Pawn roles, Ryuya Kurobane naturally took the lead, walking toward the entrance with a composed expression.

The first and second floors of the building were open atriums and looked perfectly normal, but Ryuya sensed an unusual fluctuation—one he was very familiar with.

It was the divine power of Fallen Angels.

Clearly, Rias and the others had sensed it as well.

"This way."

Rias gestured in a certain direction.

Ryuya strode forward, casually glancing at the surveillance cameras overhead. The closer they got to where the divine power was strongest, the more cameras appeared along the way.

As expected, they hadn't gone far before a group of security guards blocked their path.

"Stop. This area ahead is private. No entry."

They were all human.

But their expressions were hostile.

Ryuya's gaze swept over them—and he immediately noticed something strange. Each of these humans had an unusual power lying dormant within them…

These people… were definitely not normal.

"Heh, using believers to block our way? The Fallen Angels' methods are still as crude and disgusting as ever."

Rias sneered as she stepped forward, her eyes sharp and cold, her presence overwhelming.

"You fallen believers who worship Fallen Angels—move aside immediately, or don't blame me for being rude."

The group opposite them stirred.

"So it really is those damn devils again! Put up the barrier—capture them all!"

Someone barked out an order.

"Hmph. Utterly foolish."

Rias's expression turned icy as she issued a calm command:

"Don't waste time here. Knock them all out and toss them aside."

Ryuya and Koneko charged forward instantly, like tigers entering a flock of sheep. Although divine power surged from the humans' bodies, it was far too weak to pose any threat to Ryuya and Koneko.

With just a few punches and kicks, they dropped everyone. A sharp gust of wind came from behind—someone swung an iron baton in a sneak attack at Ryuya's back.

Ryuya calmly turned his head, about to counter with a whip kick—

Suddenly, lightning flashed!

Crackle!

The attacker convulsed violently and collapsed to the ground.

"Ara ara~"

Akeno Himejima wore a gentle smile, a hint of excitement glinting in her eyes.

"It's been so long since I last fought… I couldn't quite hold myself back."

"..."

Her sadistic side was really starting to slip out of control…

Ryuya smiled faintly, turned around, and walked up to the tightly sealed iron door ahead, silently drawing the King's Sword.

A flash of cold light—

The ten-centimeter-thick iron door was sliced open as easily as tofu. Ryuya followed up with a kick, sending the door flying inward.

Rat-tat-tat-tat—

The sound of machine-gun fire erupted from inside!

Unhurried, Ryuya walked straight at the front. With nothing more than a simple force field formed from demonic power, every bullet fired at him was deflected away. Behind him, Rias and the others followed in with relaxed expressions.

"You damn devils!"

The group on the other side continued firing wildly. Ryuya frowned slightly, then burst forward at a speed far beyond what the human eye could track.

To the enemies, Ryuya seemed to vanish from where he stood—then, in the blink of an eye, he was right in front of them.

A few sharp slaps later, all of them were knocked unconscious, and the world finally fell quiet.

"…Is that all?" Akeno said with some confusion. "These were just pseudo-believers who'd received a bit of divine power at most…"

Rias pondered for a moment, then spoke softly.

"Search carefully. There's no way this place is that simple."

Asia suddenly pointed toward the open hall ahead, her expression puzzled.

"Over there… I feel something familiar…"

"There's an angel statue there,"

Ryuya said to the others behind him, having noticed it first.

The group moved forward and saw a towering angel statue over ten meters tall standing there. The angel spread twelve pairs of wings, looking incredibly holy—yet the statue was completely naked, adding an unsettling sense of disharmony.

"Tch, what kind of sick taste is this?"

Rias said disdainfully, her gaze falling on the statue's abdomen.

She activated her demonic power, and a spatial teleportation gate immediately lit up in the statue's midsection.

"An isolated space… that's quite an undertaking,"

Akeno said with a smile.

"Indeed. Even if I wanted to create an isolated space, I'd need to rely on my family's resources. This really isn't a simple Fallen Angel base,"

Rias said quietly, her expression darkening.

After all, this place was very close to Kuoh Academy. These guys were practically provoking her right on her own turf.

"Ryuya, take point," she ordered.

"Mm."

Without the slightest hesitation, Ryuya stepped straight into the teleportation gate.

The moment he passed through, he sensed surging divine power. Numerous Spears of Light shot toward him at once.

Already prepared, Ryuya immediately deployed the defensive field of the King's Divine Shield, nullifying all incoming attacks.

The enemies ahead were indeed Fallen Angels—and there were many of them, more than twenty in total.

Clearly, the earlier frontal assault had already alerted them.

Behind him, Rias and the others followed in at once and launched their counterattack.

An overwhelming torrent of demonic power surged from Rias's body, transforming into ferocious flames that swept forward!

Two screams rang out as the Fallen Angels on the opposite side were caught completely off guard—two of them were instantly burned away!

"Damn it—it's that red-haired Annihilation Princess!"

Rias's reputation was evidently well known, as someone immediately recognized her.

After all, she was the princess of the Gremory family and the heir to the position of next family head.

Whether in beauty, status, or strength, Rias Gremory was dazzling in every sense.
