Chapter 107 - Chapter 107: Marvel Extended Universe Designated Hosts

Honestly, seeing Robert Downey Jr.'s face, Gwen couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

After all, seeing this face most likely meant this was the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and the overall difficulty shouldn't be too high.

And if the timing was right, it was 2008, around the time Iron Man debuted.

However, specific intelligence still needed to be further confirmed.

Gwen turned to look at Dr. Contradiction, raised her chin and asked, "Are we moving together next, or splitting up to gather intelligence?"

Dr. Contradiction, however, looked completely relaxed at this moment, like an old man on vacation, and said, "Of course I'm with you, Gwen, I'm really not familiar with this place."

Gwen nodded, her gaze sweeping over the edge of the building, her brows slightly furrowed: "Then how do we get down? We can't just jump, can we?"

Dr. Contradiction's lips curved into a mysterious arc, and his mechanical finger pointed not far from Gwen.

Gwen was startled, then spun around, only to see a bald woman lounging on a deck chair in the corner of the rooftop, casually drinking a beverage with her legs crossed.

This bald woman was wearing a yellow robe, and around her neck hung an ornate bronze ornament that looked very eye-catching.

Seeing Gwen turn to look at her, the woman raised her head, her deep eyes calm and unwavering, a faint smile playing on her lips, and she raised her cup, gently shaking it towards Gwen.

"Care for a drink?"

Although Gwen was startled the moment she saw the other party, after seeing that bald head, she quickly understood everything.

Sorcerer Ancient One, the most powerful magic user among mortals in Marvel.

And she also held a monitoring recorder that could see the past and future of the entire Universe, so how could she not know that she would come here?

Perhaps her appearance on this rooftop was all arranged by her.

However, this was also good.

After all, even if Ancient One didn't come to find her, she would still take Dr. Contradiction to find her.

Ultimately, she was here to visit and learn in her territory; it would be polite not to mess things up for her.

Noticing two empty chairs next to Ancient One, Gwen raised an eyebrow and walked over to sit down without any hesitation.

Dr. Contradiction, even more oblivious to politeness, sprawled out on the other chair, even letting out a sigh of relief as he sat down.

The Sorcerer first looked at Gwen, the drink in her cup gently swaying.

"Miss Gwen, I probably guessed the purpose of your visit."

"Oh?" Gwen was a little curious to hear this, "Then does Sorcerer Ancient One have any instructions?"

"No, there are no taboos, just have fun as you wish." Her tone was casual, as if she didn't care at all.

Gwen raised an eyebrow at the words and asked curiously, "Then should I go take care of Thanos now?"

"As you wish."

After hearing this, Gwen just nodded and said nothing more.

She was originally just visiting this Universe for a trip, and by the way, seeing if she could steal some technology to bring back.

After all, the DC Universe had only just fully entered an era of communication products featuring a nine-square grid interactive design, and nine-square grid phones or flip phones that could compete with Wayne Group had only just appeared on the market.

And here, it was already 2008.

Aside from some everyday technology, she could also steal some technology like the Arc Reactor.

Although Grey Matter, after learning, could indeed design similar technologies.

But modifying directly from mature technology would be better and faster.

So, Gwen naturally wouldn't mess around.

Time is so precious, who wants to beat up a purple potato monster?

Even if she wanted to play, she should find some targets.

Gwen was thinking about her next actions when she suddenly thought: Oh right, how old is Scarlet Witch at this point? Is she cute?

Should I try to go back to DC now?

Seeing Gwen stop talking, Sorcerer Ancient One nodded slightly and turned her gaze to Dr. Contradiction.

Her deep eyes seemed to see through souls, but a hint of confusion flickered when they met Dr. Contradiction: "You are different from Gwen; I cannot see through you. Can you tell me what you intend to do?"

Dr. Contradiction still maintained his leisurely demeanor, his mechanical arm tapping the armrest rhythmically, emitting a crisp sound: "Don't think of me as too complicated; I'm purely here for tourism, to experience the customs and traditions of different Universes."

He paused, then suddenly reached out, pointing to the brass pendant hanging on Sorcerer Ancient One's chest and asked, "However, I am quite interested in this little trinket of yours; can I take a closer look?"

Gwen was stunned to hear this.

Looking at the green light flashing inside the bronze pendant, how could Gwen not know what was inside?

So, in Gwen's opinion, Ancient One shouldn't just hand over such an important item to anyone.

"Of course you can."

However, to her surprise, Sorcerer Ancient One only thought for a moment before raising her hand, taking off the pendant, and passing it from in front of Gwen to Dr. Contradiction.

Dr. Contradiction nodded with a smile and also took something out of his pocket.

It was a brass pocket watch, but it was clearly different from the World-hopping navigator.

At least in terms of craftsmanship, the World-hopping navigator was much more exquisite than this small item.

"The function of this pocket watch is somewhat similar to your pendant; I'll consider it collateral."

Sorcerer Ancient One took the pocket watch, her fingertips gently caressing the dial, feeling the familiar, time-related power within, and smiled.

"By all means, you are too kind."

Dr. Contradiction happily took the brass pendant, his mechanical fingers flexibly exploring its edges.

With a few soft "click" sounds, the brass casing unfolded like petals, revealing a fist-sized green gem inside.

Strange halos flowed across the surface of the gem, as if countless galaxies were swirling within it, and its brilliance illuminated Dr. Contradiction's patterned face.

Gwen watched Dr. Contradiction studying the gem, and she could still hear his murmuring.

"Indeed... the carrier of time authority... like a backend key... a central program of the loop... a vessel."

Gwen leaned in and listened carefully for a while... she didn't understand.

Forget it, why torment herself? Cheat!

"Hero Time!" Gwen suddenly shouted, slapping her palm on the watch dial.

The dial burst forth with dazzling purple light, and in front of Sorcerer Ancient One, Gwen transformed into Grey Matter.

Soon, of the three people originally present, two who didn't understand now became only Sorcerer Ancient One who didn't understand.

Dr. Contradiction and Gwen in her Grey Matter form huddled together, one waving his mechanical arm and gesticulating, the other's petite body gesticulating wildly, both seemingly engaged in a heated conversation.

The most important thing was that both of them were talking about technology-related content, which Ancient One, an expert in magic, really couldn't understand.

Adding to that, Dr. Contradiction was now using his hundreds of thousands of years of learning to analyze the fundamental nature of the Universe, while Gwen, relying on her daily research into her little broken watch, could barely understand some of the principles.

Sorcerer Ancient One watched this scene quietly, and only when the sky began to gradually darken did she ask, "If you two intend to stay here for a while, I can prepare rooms for you."

Gwen in her Grey Matter form suddenly turned her head, her purple eyes blinking, and then her body glowed brightly, transforming back into her previous appearance.

"No need for rooms, but I want to ask..." She tidied her somewhat messy hair and asked with a smile, "Do you have any channels to exchange gold for money?"
