Chapter 83 - Chapter 83

Before long and before Ronan knew it... some pivotal events passed or have even been passed over... because it was We Light the Way already.

Then again, it's not like he hadn't participated in the happenings of the King of the Narrow Sea.

It's just that the wildfire matters mattered more to him... for the most part.

The 'wisdom' that the Guild of Alchemist held should be quite neat. From its apprentices, its acolytes, to its designated grand master of pyromancers.

Which wasn't just about the creation of their 'substance' but their claims to transmute metals as well.

Meaning that the path to become a Fullmetal Alchemist was there...

And that at least made the shitty King's Landing rather appealing. Wherein the shit stench could be solved... but the scheming politics most likely would not.

Either way, the guild process was long... with them being overprotective of that knowledge and all that... but he cracked them eventually, like he cracked the secret of the Magic Fire Hands man.

And butane in dish-soaped water wasn't the trick, just as how wildfire itself wasn't a direct correlation to Greek fire.

Either way, he could develop further and further... just with that foundation to go on...

Of course, it also had to be mentioned that he averted quite the crisis... and turned that into an opportunity to rack up so many plus points to gain more favor from the missus.

He had his meta-remembering of the show to thank for that.

And if memory served correct... there should have been the death of mother... the sickly King taking the sea trip to Driftmark... the disgraced leave of Otto from being the Hand and farewell manipulation of his Queen daughter...

Then there's the royal entourage being snubbily welcomed by the Sea Snake through sending Laena instead... whilst the Clubfoot sneakily got close to the Queen by spilling about the Princess' drinking of moon tea...

The King, the new Strong Hand, and the Velaryon couple would be talking wedding business in the Hall of Nine... and eventually come to an understanding.

Whilst they did so, the Princess and Laenor would be discussing sexuality through roast duck and goose analogies... and both come to an understanding as well.

Then it was scenes after scenes of the couples... like Corlys explaining his ambition of justice for Rhaenys to Rhaenys herself... Laenor kissing around with the Knight of Kisses... and the Princess breaking the heart of want-to-elope Cole...

Which is why as soon as they got back to the Keep, the feeling-betrayed Cole snitched to the investigating Queen...

Culminating in a cacophony of characters and circumstances that will converge... in a certain welcome feast.

Not in this welcome feast though... cause all of that nonsense no longer took place, for better or for worse.

In any case, it was time.

For the drums rattled... the guests made way... and the door opened... with Lord Commander Westerling to loudly announce.

"Lady Rhea of House Royce! Lady of Runestone and Vaes Braedazma!"

"With her son and heir, Ser Ronan Royce... the Future King Consort!"

After which, the music rose... and the applause followed. With the King, Princess, and all guests arising from their seat... to welcome the processioning Royce in their signature Royce armor.

With the most attention-grabbing being Ronan himself... in his very impressive, flamboyant, and redesigned suit...

The Gilgabronze.

Still of runes and bronze... but very reminiscent of Gilgamesh from Fates.

And no more need be said about that.

As the Royces greeted the royal family... with the Princess going out of her way to get close.

"My Betrothed..." She smilingly greeted.

"My Betrothed." He responded, kissing the back of the hand she extended.

An exchange that was witnessed by all... and resulting in a much louder round of applause. Including even from the inwardly reluctant few.

And in a rather fortunate turn of events, Daemon actually didn't follow up... when he should've at this point in the show.

Saving everyone from the awkwardness and the tension... cause even Ronan probably could not stop his uncle Gerold from giving a speech of condemnation.

Thankfully, Daemon was absent. And everyone can rest easy in their seats.

That bonk to the head must still be in effect... or it could be that it triggered some sort of factory reset. Or even a mode switch for the guy.

Cause, apparently... the man was pestering some woman and her child. Which is a rather curious turn of things.

At the very least, such a deadbeat father hadn't tried to beat mother Rhea to death.

If Daemon even tried like he should've, mother's skill have long improved as Ronan hoped it would... and her current favorite steed would have just trampled the Rogue Prince instead.

After all, those Jogos zorses were no joke... even after being napped into domestication.

In any case, it's just good that none of that bad stuff happened... but as an offsetter to that kind of positive, Otto hasn't been fired from his job.

If anything, the Hightower was here by the main table of this feast, whispering something to the still-standing King... to probably start the speech...

And sure enough, after the whispering... the King started to happily say. "Be welcome... as we join together in celebration."

"Tonight is only its beginning."

"We honor the Crown's greatest and fiercest ally... House Royce."

"Nobility that traces back to the days of the First Men."

"With House Royce, House Targaryen will..."

Alas, the King had to cut his speech... to the bafflement of everyone...

But as they turned to where he gazed, they understood.

That the absent queen had finally arrived... at an inopportune time. Wearing a rather troubling color for her dress...

The color used by the Hightower beacon to signify Oldtown's intent for war.

Green.

And as the Queen did her proclaiming strut that sent the onlookers either staring or murmuring... Ronan can't help but be confused...

About what this Alicent was on about.

Her father wasn't sacked... and Rhaenyra shouldn't have lied to her about not doing the deed, cause everyone pretty much knows already... so, what could Clubfoot or Cole even possibly snitch to her?

Just what is her problem, he wondered.

What is her problem, indeed.

Only after the whole murder-less dragon dance segment and when the whole feast was officially over... did Ronan come to be told by Rhaenyra that the Queen was actually jelly.

Jealous and envious... due to him.

Hence, probably, the color green.

Oh, how fate just finds a way... like how Hightowers just want to light the way to conflicts of their own volition and creation.
