"Mii mii"
Mew hovered above the fallen Nidoking, tilting its head as if confused. It hadn't meant to knock the poor Pokémon out so easily—it had just… gotten a little too excited.
The naturally mischievous, curious, and playful Mythical Pokémon now seemed a little embarrassed by the result of its own overpowered attack.
At that moment, a calm voice came from nearby.
"Mew, do you need help?"
Standing atop a nearby mound of earth was Ash, with Froakie by his side. Seeing Mew's troubled expression, he knew it was time to step in.
"Mii~?"
Hearing the boy's voice, Mew turned its head in curiosity.
It had noticed Ash earlier, of course—but as the origin of all Pokémon, Mew rarely paid much attention to passing humans. They were… background noise, at best.
But now… something about this boy intrigued it.
"Mii~?"
Ash jumped down from the mound with Froakie in tow, and as soon as he did, Mew floated closer, circling around him twice with wide eyes, as if inspecting something very peculiar.
Mew, though playful and cheerful by nature, was also unpredictable—its thoughts and emotions operated on a level that transcended human logic, morality, or emotion.
That made it both pure… and dangerously whimsical.
Knowing this, Ash remained calm but cautious.
At the same time, he activated his [Viridian Power: Natural Affinity], while gently channeling his Aura to perceive Mew's emotional state.
And then—
"Mii~?!"
Mew's body trembled slightly as it took in the strange energy around the human child.
It sensed two distinct forces:
One was the natural blessing of the Forest Guardian Celebi—that unmistakable aura of life, growth, and nature.
The other… was an unmistakably pure Aura—so pure, in fact, that it was identical to Sir Aaron's.
Mew's eyes widened.
How could this child possess both the sacred forest energy of Celebi and the most authentic form of Aura known to Pokémon?
What's more… the Aura didn't just resemble Sir Aaron's.
It felt like the same Aura.
In an instant, Mew's curiosity transformed into astonishment.
It wasn't just that the child was blessed by Celebi—a miracle in itself.
It wasn't just that he had been granted the "Natural Affinity" trait.
Mew even sensed hints of Time and Space within the natural aura surrounding Ash.
To Mew, that wasn't just a blessing.
That was something extraordinary.
To its eyes, Ash felt like a human embodiment of Celebi—a forest god still in his infancy.
And yet, even that wasn't what truly caught Mew's interest.
What truly mattered… was the Aura.
Over a thousand years ago, before Poké Balls existed, the world of Pokémon had been one of constant conflict. Wars raged across regions.
Even peaceful places like the kingdom of Rota weren't spared.
Back then, Mew had slumbered near the Tree of Beginning, which stood close to Rota. As the guardian beast of that sacred place, Mew's fate was tied to the Tree—if the Tree withered, so would Mew.
And when war spread across the land, damaging the natural balance, Mew was wounded and fell into a deep, unending slumber.
If the wars continued and the Tree of Beginning collapsed, Mew would perish with it.
But one man refused to let that happen.
Sir Aaron, the Aura Guardian of Rota, ventured deep into the royal archives to learn how to end the war. There, he discovered the truth of the Tree and Mew's role in maintaining world order.
He understood that to heal the world, he needed to awaken Mew and restore the Tree.
So, without hesitation, Sir Aaron offered his life—transmitting every last drop of his Aura to the slumbering Mew.
In doing so, he not only saved Mew…
He saved the Tree of Beginning, Rota, and perhaps the entire Pokémon world.
From that moment on, Mew carried Sir Aaron's Aura, his memories, and his emotions deep within its soul.
It never forgot.
They say Mew, the origin of all Pokémon, has no fixed home and drifts across the world. And that used to be true—until the day it inherited Sir Aaron's legacy.
From that day on, Mew found its "home" in Rota, the city Aaron died to protect.
And now…
Before Mew stood a boy with black hair and soft brown eyes.
His face… eerily resembled Aaron's.
His Aura… was the same.
It wasn't just similar. It was identical.
The very same Aura Mew once absorbed.
"Mii~?"
Could this child… be the reincarnation of Aaron?
Mew gazed at Ash with growing affection and curiosity.
Ash, of course, had no idea what Mew was thinking.
Though he could feel a sense of familiarity and warmth from Mew through Aura perception, he remained focused on the task at hand—he wanted to connect with Mew and, if possible, copy its skills.
But first—he had to do the right thing.
Ash walked over to Nidoking, still unconscious from Mew's earlier blast. Gently, he placed his hand on the Pokémon's body and activated the healing ability of his Viridian Power.
Vmmmmmm...
Thanks to two weeks of consistent practice during camp—sharing energy with wild Pokémon, healing injuries, and nurturing bonds—Ash's Viridian Power had grown significantly stronger.
Even though Nidoking was high-leveled and had taken a heavy blow, Ash's [Healing Grace] worked steadily, easing its pain and restoring its vitality.
Back during the fishing challenge, Goh had been injured by a rampaging Gyarados—but if that happened now, Ash could heal him effortlessly.
(Not that he ever intended to, of course. Ash still remembered how Goh had once refused to lift a finger for him. He was just… stating a fact.)
