Chester crouched, grabbing the fallen blade he leaned forward and muttered in a curt tone, "Goodbye Casper Walsh."
The blade pressed against his throat.
Ray watched the hallway, ensuring that there were no sudden interruptions, he gave a slight nod to Chester.
Casper exhaled slowly.
Warmth flooded his limbs. Not bravery. Not righteousness.
But spite.
Chester shifted his weight slightly —
That was enough.
In a sudden jerk, ignoring all pain. Casper twisted his wrist violently, brushing aside the tearing sensation as skin ripped under the pressure of the boot. His pinned hand slipped free in a burst of blood.
Before either Hunters could react, he surged forward.
His hand snatched the fallen flower from the shattered vase.
For half a second, Chester frowned.
"Wh—what?"
Casper lunged forward and smashed the crushed petals straight into both their faces, grinding them hard against the skin and eyes.
"Poison ivy, bitches!"
Ray recoiled instantly, cursing as he stumbled back, clawing at his face. Chester staggered a step, blinking rapidly as the oily residue smeared across his eyes.
Casper didn't wait to admire the result.
He spun, nearly slipping in his own blood, and bolted toward the kitchen.
His hand's tremor worsened, he could feel his broken bone pressing against his blood vessels.
A few more minutes that's all I got. More than that, I lose my hand… at best.
Casper thought bitterly as he grabbed a knife from the kitchen. "Now it's an even game," he muttered unconsciously.
Chester rubbed at his eyes.
But the oily residue smeared deeper, burning hotter. His vision blurred at the edges and his skin flushed red.
If he had to describe the pain, it felt like thousands of bees stinging him at once.
Behind him, Ray was still swearing, half-blinded and furious.
"You think that was clever?" He growled, forcing his hands down.
Somehow, through his blurred vision he located Casper's silhouette in the kitchen doorway and barrelled forward.
He swung wildly without aim, hoping to hit something.
But hope never worked against Casper.
Casper ducked then immediately caught Chester's arm and forced it down, his fist slammed against the marble countertop, cracking it.
Before he could even struggle, Casper immediately drove the kitchen knife down his arm and pinned it to the countertop.
"Man, you really shouldn't have come to my house."
He said with a chuckle before dragging the knife through his arm.
An unholy scream escaped his mouth, tearing through the room. Even causing Ray to shiver in fright.
What the fuck was that? He thought, his back covered in cold sweat and he instantly doubted his life decisions. Should I just run? I am not built for whatever that was.
Steel tore through fabric and flesh in a brutal line as he ripped the blade sideways and out.
Casper licked his lips and chuckled at the sight.
Chester snarled through clenched teeth, the edges of his eyes were moist.
The sob died before it even started.
The only thing he could feel now was rage.
He raised his free hand, threatening to strike Casper.
But Casper tilted his head in astonishment, Oh fuck naw!
Immediately he planted his heel against his chest and kicked him to the ground.
Chester hit the tiles hard, the impact rattling the wooden floorboards. Blood smeared beneath him, clutching his shredded hand as he hit the ground.
Casper didn't give him space.
He quickly jumped on top of him, and slammed his head against the floor before pressing his knife against his throat.
"Goodbye villain number one," he said with a deep chuckle.
The knife in his hand curved upwards and left a scarlet line across his throat, Chester's eyes widened as he tried to claw at Casper who casually shook his hand off.
The last thing Chester saw was a pair of crimson red eyes staring at him, watching the life fade from him with a predatory grin.
Just as Casper readied to stand, something rammed into him from the side like a battering ram.
His ribs cracked as his body left the ground, the knife flying from his grasp before settling down with a clatter.
He crashed across the kitchen tiles, skidding through blood.
Casper slammed his fists into the ground and let out a frustrated roar. His eyes darted to the place he stood to see Ray, still standing, better than the last time he saw him, looking like a true survivor.
"Poison ivy huh? What a lie." He muttered, plucking a microscopic hair from his face.
Looking at him Casper's gaze grew cold, then tender, his mouth curved open into a smile as he let out a snicker.
"Ah, well you know how it is. Saying "stinging nettles bitches" doesn't have the same gravitas as poison ivy. If you don't like it, sue me!"
Ray nodded, subtly glancing at his friend, he turned his attention back to him.
"You know, I told Chester not to underestimate you but he did. I'm not gonna make the same mistake."
Casper sighed theatrically and clutched his heart, "Oh if you keep talking like that I might believe I'll actually die!"
He then removed his hand, glaring at the Hunter coldly he uttered in a mocking voice, "Don't forget, I'm the main character and you're the side character. Don't act like you're gonna actually do anything except die miserably."

A/N - Bad scheduling strikes! I got a two week vacation now that my exams are over and so I'm js goofing off with my friends so I got no time to write or be online. That's why the chapters are being posted every other day. It's crazy how my schedule is better when I have school vs when I don't.
