She stood perfectly still, a predator waiting patiently for the beasts to cross the invisible threshold of her attack range.
And once they crossed the mark, she muttered under her breath:

A dense, suffocating wave of dark spirit energy spread out from her like a concussive shockwave. It smashed into the five charging dogs, and instantly, their momentum shattered. Their terrifying speed dropped dramatically, their massive paws suddenly dragging through the dirt as if the gravity around them had magnified tenfold.
