Suddenly, two hands shot out from the ground, grabbing Izuna's ankles.
"Earth Release: Headhunter Jutsu!"
The technique dragged Izuna rapidly into the soil. However, before it could pull his legs fully underground, Susanoo materialized. A giant skeletal hand plunged into the earth, dragged out a Senju Jonin, and crushed him to death instantly.
"Focus on the other Uchiha! Leave Uchiha Izuna to me—he's not someone you can handle!" Yuma shouted a warning after seeing his Jonin die in seconds.
"Cloud Piercing Slash!"
Yuma drew his blade. Unleashing an S-rank kenjutsu with power rivaling the Raikiri and force enough to tear through space, he appeared above Izuna in an instant, aiming for a gap in Susanoo's defense.
"I can sense your position perfectly!"
Izuna raised a kunai to meet the attack. With Sage Mode sensing, unless Yuma reached the speeds of the Fourth Raikage, he could not escape Izuna's perception.
The blades clashed with a ring of steel. Izuna's Sharingan spun rapidly.
Genjutsu: Sharingan!
Yuma froze mid-air for a split second. Susanoo seized the opening, forming a chakra bayonet that impaled Yuma through the abdomen.
"He did it!?" a nearby Uchiha Chunin exclaimed in delight.
Poof!
The next second, Yuma's body dissolved into white smoke.
"Idiot, you're distracted!"
A Senju ninja seized the opportunity, driving a katana through the distracted Chunin's body.
"Urgh..." The Uchiha Chunin's eyes went wide, and his breath ceased. The Senju withdrew his blade and kicked the corpse to the ground.
The Warring States Period was just that cruel.
"A Shadow Clone?"
Izuna's pupils constricted. The Senju couldn't copy techniques like the Sharingan could. If Yuma knew this move, there was only one conclusion: the original creator, Senju Tobirama, had already developed it and taught it to the clan.
"Earth Release: Earth Flow River!"
Yuma's voice came from behind, turning the ground beneath Izuna into a swamp once more.
It didn't stop there. Yuma rapidly changed hand seals. "Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet!"
Four earth dragons with open eyes rose from the swamp, glaring at Izuna from all four cardinal directions. With a roar, they attacked simultaneously, completely engulfing Izuna and his Susanoo shell.
"I'm not done yet, you wet-behind-the-ears Uchiha brat!"
Yuma roared, shifting seals again. "Fire Release: Searing Migraine!"
"Lightning Release: Thunder Flash!"
The flames baked the mud dry, forming an immobilizing prison, followed by a bombardment of high-penetration Lightning Release.
It had to be said—the Senju and Sarutobi clans were the ones most likely to produce multi-elemental shinobi.
Most members of the Uchiha clan possessed dual elemental affinities: Fire Release paired with one other. There were also quite a few who possessed only the single attribute of Fire Release.
Those like Izuna and Madara, who commanded three distinct affinities, were already a rarity.
However, the Sarutobi clan, and even more so the Senju, frequently produced ninja with three, four, or even all five elemental affinities. In the current generation, both Senju Hashirama and Senju Tobirama possessed all five basic natures: Water, Fire, Wind, Lightning, and Earth.
Sarutobi Hiruzen, the future Third Hokage of the Sarutobi line, would also come to possess all five.
It was, truthfully, enough to make one jealous.
"Vice-Clan Head, are you alright?!"
Seeing the mud constantly bombarded by lightning strikes, countless Uchiha clansmen watched with bated breath. Uchiha Akichi couldn't help but shout out.
"Summoning Technique!"
Izuna's voice rang out coldly from within the barrage.
Bang!!!
White smoke billowed upward, scattering the falling thunder. A massive claw, wreathed in eerie blue flames, descended from the mist.
"Cat Flame Bowl!"
The cyan-blue flames dispersed rapidly, neutralizing all the multi-elemental ninjutsu Senju Yuma had just released, and even blasting the energy back at them.
"What is that thing!?"
Senju Chiharu and the others who had previously seen the Two-Tails were already dead. Naturally, the Senju ninja currently on the field couldn't help but gasp in shock upon seeing the beast.
Standing atop the Two-Tails' head, Izuna's gaze swept quickly across the battlefield.
Ultimately, the Senju still held the advantage in combat power. If they fought a conventional battle by the book, it would be difficult for the Uchiha to win.
"Retreat. I will bring up the rear!" Izuna commanded haughtily.
Uchiha Shin, who had been trying every method to take Senju Unkan's head, paused. He retreated explosively, shouting at the same time, "All units, retreat!"
"Fire Release: Ash Pile Burning!"
The surviving Uchiha clansmen hurriedly used ninjutsu to obscure the enemy's vision, pulling back toward the rear.
"Thinking of running? Is it that easy? Wind Release: Vacuum Sphere!"
Senju Yuma unleashed a high-level Wind Release technique, blowing away most of the thick smoke gathered on the battlefield.
However, the instant the smoke cleared, he discovered the Two-Tails beneath Izuna's feet with its maw wide open. A massive sphere of chakra, dark purple bordering on black, was condensing in its mouth.
"What is that?"
Senju Unkan felt an instinctive, deeply ominous premonition.
A chilling smile rose on Izuna's face. "Blast them, Matatabi!"
