I stared at the market with a sinking feeling. What was I thinking? In what realm would I be able to make a wheelchair?
I looked over to the man who was trusting me to help him and I steeled my determination. It may not be perfect, but there had to be something!
His son looked at me with trusting eyes. I knew that he didn't really want me to be his mom. He just wanted his father to be taken care of. I wondered where his mother was.
He said she was gone, but looking at the boy's father, I could see that he was still alive. Did she abandon him because of his legs?
I thought about what I could do to make a wheelchair. In my mind, I imagined the big wheels on the side and small wheels in the front. The Chair that the man could sit in would be attached in some way.
I kept my eye out for vendors that worked with wood or metal. It would be a simple chair for him to use and wouldn't be that maneuverable.
