Chapter 115: Uchiha Shiki

Hidden Stone Village.

A seemingly unremarkable boy with freckles on his face lay sprawled on a table, looking utterly despondent as he listened to a man spitting flying saliva while lecturing him.

"Doi! Did you hear me clearly!"

"We ninjas of the Hidden Stone must possess a will as unyielding as rock! For the village, for Lord Tsuchikage, we must be prepared to sacrifice ourselves at any moment!"

"Starting tomorrow, your training volume will double! If you don't complete your tasks, no food for you!"

Kizaru—no, now Doi—lazily lifted one eyelid and responded weakly.

"Yes yes"

"Understood, Father~"

The man in front of him was his cheap father in this life, a typical Hidden Stone Chunin: stubborn, rigid, with a brain full of nothing but the village and the Tsuchikage.

"What kind of attitude is that!" The man fumed, blowing into his mustache and staring wide-eyed.

"Oh my, oh my." Doi straightened up slowly and yawned. "But Father, I'm just a child. My body won't be able to handle such strict training."

"Besides, I heard the kid from the Explosion Corps next door gets to eat three servings of beef bowl every day. I want to eat that too."

Veins bulged on the man's forehead from anger. He raised his hand, wanting to slap him, but looking at his son's harmless, even pitiful face, he couldn't bring himself to do it in the end.

"Hmph! All you know is eating!"

He snorted heavily and turned to walk out of the room.

"If you don't finish your training tomorrow, you'll go hungry!"

Watching the man's retreating back, the lazy expression on Doi's face vanished instantly, replaced by a deep, imperceptible shrewdness.

He stood up unhurriedly and walked to the window, watching the Hidden Stone ninjas conducting weight training on the rugged mountain roads outside.

Every face wore an air of resolution and fearlessness towards death.

"Oh my, oh my~... truly a troublesome place."

He put that signature sleazy smile back on and muttered softly.

"Having an absolute leader means I don't need to use my own brain..."

"It seems I'll have to find a way to hug Lord Tsuchikage's thigh tightly~."

"Ideally, I'll become his personal disciple or something. That way, I can slack off with justifiable reason~."

...

Land of Fire, Hidden Leaf Village.

Inside a quaint and solemn Japanese-style room, Golden Lion Shiki abruptly opened his eyes.

What met his sight was an unfamiliar wooden ceiling, and the air was filled with the faint scent of sandalwood.

He moved his fingers, and an unprecedented feeling of weakness transmitted from every limb and bone. The power that could tear apart the sea and levitate islands was gone without a trace, leaving only the slightly frail body of a young boy.

"Jihaha..."

The hoarse laugh was only halfway out of his throat before he forcefully swallowed it back.

This wasn't his ship, nor was it that monster's reef in Foosha Village.

He sat up vigilantly and looked around.

Shoji doors, tatami mats, and a calligraphy scroll hanging on the wall written with sharp strokes: the character "Sincerity."

Beside the calligraphy hung a dark blue short-sleeved shirt. Printed on the back was a red and white crest resembling a fan.

Uchiha.

Shiki's pupils contracted slightly.

He remembered now. Before entering this dungeon, he had chosen the strongest Hidden Leaf Village.

And this crest undoubtedly represented one of the most prestigious clans in Konoha, famous for their dōjutsu and Fire Style techniques—the Uchiha clan.

"Jihaha... Interesting, truly interesting..." Shiki lowered his voice, a sickly excitement surfacing on his face.

Starting off in a prestigious clan—this starting point was far higher than that brute Garp or that idiot Dragon!

Just then, the shoji door slid open with a swish.

A stern-faced, naturally dignified middle-aged man walked in. He wore the same attire, and deep within his pitch-black eyes, a beast seemed to hide, ready to devour someone at any moment.

"Tsubasa, you're awake."

The man's voice was icy, devoid of any warmth.

He walked up to Shiki and looked down at him condescendingly. "How do you feel about losing to Fugaku in the shuriken duel yesterday?"

Shiki, or rather Uchiha Tsubasa now, raised his head to meet the man's scrutinizing gaze.

From the memories of this body, he knew the man before him was his father in this life, Uchiha Setsuna, a Jonin known within the clan for his harshness.

And Uchiha Fugaku was the clan head's son, the recognized leader of the next generation.

"Didn't feel much." Tsubasa grinned, revealing a row of white teeth, his smile as arrogant as ever.

"Insolence!"

Uchiha Setsuna's eyes sharpened, and an invisible pressure descended. "As a descendant of the Uchiha, a loss is a loss! Failure is a humiliation! And you show no remorse!"

The smile on Tsubasa's face remained unchanged, but his eyes turned cold.

A mere nobody without even Haki dared to release his aura in front of him?

In the outside world, a single look from him would have made the other party kneel and beg for mercy.

But now...

Feeling the emptiness of power within his body, he ultimately suppressed that arrogance.

"Father is right to lecture me." Tsubasa lowered his head slightly. His tone held not a shred of submissiveness; instead, it sounded more like perfunctory agreement.

Uchiha Setsuna frowned. He felt his son had become somewhat different since being defeated by Fugaku yesterday.

The thing deep in those eyes was no longer the jealousy and unwillingness of before, but something he couldn't understand—something deeper and more dangerous.

"Hmph!" Setsuna snorted coldly and didn't pursue it further. "Remember, our Uchiha clan possesses the noblest bloodline. Our eyes house the power of gods!"

"The Sharingan!"

He enunciated each syllable, his eyes filled with fanatical pride.

"Only by awakening the Sharingan can you truly become a qualified Uchiha! Only then can you wash away yesterday's humiliation! Only then can you show those commoners and the remnants of the Senju clan our true power!"

Sharingan...

A gleam of greed flashed in Tsubasa's eyes.

From his memories, he knew that was the powerful pupil technique inherited in the Uchiha bloodline, capable of seeing through all ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu, and even copying the opponent's moves.

This was simply a power tailor-made for him!

"I understand, Father." Tsubasa lowered his head again, his voice raspy and low. "I will awaken the Sharingan."

"I will make everyone kneel at the feet of the Uchiha!"

His words were filled with undisguised ambition and madness, causing Uchiha Setsuna to be momentarily stunned.

Setsuna looked at his son, who seemed reborn, and was silent for a moment. Finally, a look of satisfaction appeared on his face.

"Very good. That is my son."

He turned to walk out. "Remember your words. From today on, your training doubles. If you cannot surpass Fugaku in taijutsu within a month, you are not qualified to call yourself an Uchiha!"

The shoji door slowly closed.

Inside the room, Uchiha Tsubasa slowly raised his head. The submissiveness on his face vanished without a trace, replaced by a manic smile.

"Jihahahahahaha!"

"Sharingan? The power of gods? Good! Very good!"

"Just you wait... Once I master this power, Clan Head, Hokage, they will all be my stepping stones!"

"This world will eventually submit beneath my feet!"
