Chapter 79: I Am Terrifyingly Strong
Sengoku's Conqueror's Haki tore the clouds apart. His desperate, life-or-death resolve made the entire battlefield tremble.
Garp, standing on the ruins of the platform, his body wreathed in green steam and lightning, had a complex expression as he faced this terrifying aura.
"Sengoku..."
He looked at his old friend, who had cast off his coat, at that face filled with resolve. An indescribable emotion welled up in his heart.
This man was his best friend.
From their green days at the naval academy, to comrades who had fought side-by-side for decades, and now, to opponents standing on opposite sides of the world.
They had survived the life-and-death battle of God Valley together. They had witnessed the fall of the Rocks Pirates together. They had trusted each other with their backs in countless battles.
But now...
Garp's gaze swept over Ace, his grandson, who was still crying.
He took a deep breath, telling himself this was just a dungeon. A possible future.
None of it was real.
Not the Sengoku before him.
Not the Marine soldiers lying in pools of blood.
Not this brutal, horrific war.
If that's the case...
Facing this world-shaking Conqueror's Haki, the wild laugh on Garp's face, far from fading, grew even louder!
"BWAHAHAHAHA!"
He threw his head back and laughed, the sound echoing across the battlefield!
"That's more like it, Sengoku!"
The green steam on his body exploded, the blue-purple lightning dancing wildly!
A Conqueror's Haki, just as violent, just as absolute, shot up from his body!
The two wills... slammed into each other in mid-air!
RUMBLE!
The sky cracked!
A giant rift spread from the point of impact, tearing the blue sky in two!
The ice covering Marineford shattered, and the sea heaved, sending up monstrous waves!
"What... What is that?!"
The Marines stared in terror at the crack in the sky, their legs shaking.
"The... the sky is splitting?!"
The Whitebeard Pirates were also dumbfounded.
Even the Shichibukai's faces changed.
Hawk-Eye Mihawk's grip on his sword tightened, his sharp eyes fixed on the rift.
Empress Hancock subconsciously took a step back.
Doflamingo's laughter froze, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
"Hey, hey... you're kidding me..."
His voice was trembling.
"A clash of this level..."
Whitebeard paused. His wrinkled old face was grim.
"Gurarara..."
He laughed darkly, his gaze shifting between Sengoku and Garp.
"Those two old fools..."
"That bastard..."
"He's really... going to fight Sengoku to the death."
The Marine Garp also paused his movements. He looked up, his expression complex.
After a moment.
He suddenly smiled.
"BWAHAHAHA!"
"I'm still me, after all!"
Whitebeard looked at him, and suddenly asked, "You're not going to stop him?"
The Marine Garp shook his head.
"That is his choice."
He looked up at the crack in the sky.
"And besides..."
"I... also want to see."
"If I had chosen a different path back then... where would it have led."
Whitebeard was silent.
After a moment, he raised his naginata.
"Then let's continue."
"Gurarara! Let me see... just how hard... the Marine Hero's fists really are!"
The confrontation between Sengoku and Garp... had entered its final stage.
The two Conqueror's Haki... crushed against each other in mid-air, each trying to overwhelm the other!
But neither Sengoku nor Garp... gave an inch!
Their wills... had reached their absolute peak!
Finally.
Sengoku moved.
His figure vanished, so fast he left no afterimage!
The next instant, he was in front of Garp!
No technique.
Just one punch.
A punch of pure, ultimate power!
His fist was covered in Armament Haki so thick it looked solid. A golden shockwave pulsed outside the Haki!
Garp laughed wildly, and threw his own punch to meet it!
Green steam, blue-purple lightning, and black Armament Haki... three powers fused on his fist!
BOOM!
The two fists... slammed into each other!
Time... froze.
The next second.
A shockwave, capable of destroying everything, exploded from their center!
RUMBLE!
The ice shattered!
The ground collapsed!
Everything within hundreds of meters... was pulverized by this shockwave!
Even the distant warships... were nearly capsized by the aftershock, rocking violently!
Aokiji was sent stumbling back, his face filled with horror.
"This power..."
He muttered.
"It's... beyond human limits..."
The smoke cleared.
The two figures... were still standing.
Sengoku's fist... was pressed against Garp's.
Both faces... were twisted in a savage grin.
"Sengoku!"
Garp roared.
"You're finally getting serious!"
Sengoku didn't answer.
His eyes flashed with resolve, and the power in his fist surged again!
"Then let me see!"
Garp laughed wildly, the green steam on his body exploding!
"Just how heavy... is your justice!"
The two powers... clashed again!
The crack in the sky... grew larger!
Red lightning... flashed, illuminating a trembling Marineford!
This duel of legends... had entered its most brutal stage!
And in the center of the impact.
Sengoku's expression changed.
He could feel it. The power from his opponent's fist... was... slowly... overpowering his.
That power was too pure.
So pure... it had no technique, no flair.
Only... the most primitive, most violent, brute force!
KRACHA!
The ice beneath Sengoku's feet... shattered.
His body... began to slide back.
Garp roared with laughter, the power in his fist surging again!
"BWAHAHAHA!"
"Sengoku!"
"This... is my power now!"
He roared. The green steam and lightning on his body exploded!
"Right now... I..."
"Am terrifyingly strong!"
His voice fell... and he put his all into it!
Bang!
Sengoku's feet slid back, plowing a trench dozens of meters long.
"Fleet Admiral!"
Aokiji's face changed. He unleashed his cold air, about to rush in.
Far away, on the sea, a golden light flashed.
Kizaru's figure... reformed from the light.
He stood on the mast of a warship, hands in his pockets. His sleazy face... for once... looked conflicted.
"Ooooh..."
He squinted, watching the earth-shaking duel.
He watched Sengoku get pushed back.
He watched the Garp wreathed in lightning and green steam.
"Do we... really... have to fight to this extent..."
